This game awakes memories from the past I almost didn't even know existed.
That's wild! Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
us mind memory sometimes works strange like old gba cartridge savedata RAM, and need some more external powers for remember some things )
I played this game while listening to Tenacious D so when I hear one of their old songs I think of the game and vice versa
dude same omg
same
I'm surprised to realize this game can be finished in just a few hours. I remember playing it back to back for weeks, maybe months. It drove my parents insane. XD
Thanks for watching and commenting! Thanks for the story as well! :D
Well as a kid you only got to play maybe 30 minutes as a day. And if you fell into a black hole the level had to be restarted from the beginning. That’s probably why this game took me weeks to complete.
@@LongplayUniverse is this 100%
This game was FRUSTRATING for me as a kid but I still love it and play it
Heck yeah. I bet you a pro by now. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Oh my god i HATED and loved this game at the same time lol
20 years old!
Man I played this several times back in the day
One of my favorite movie tie-in games
Glad I could bring some nostalgia your way. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
i know a lot of ppl dont like this game compared to the other ones but i grew up playing this game over and over, these sounds and scenes bring back memories and I just wish i could go back in time to appreciate it, I live in the past a lot which is very bad on my mental health, idk im just so sad when i think of my childhood, id do anything in this world to relive my life.
I struggle a lot with myself, luckily I have been getting better at understanding the past is the past and the future isn't here yet so I try to focus on the now, although it is quite hard. I hope everything gets better on your end!
ouuuchh... same feelings ))
I just bought an Anbernic RG351P just to play old games :D I'm more nostalgic towards pokemon but this seems an ok game to play :D
We as kids whom had a good childhood would we didnt have to worry about anything. Now... Bills children etc... I wouldn't chamge ewhat I have done even if I had a secord chance
You got this.
Wow the menu music took me right back
Me as a kid: can't even get passed hagrids hut
Me as a adult: still stuck on hagrids hut
LOL, you got this.
I had this when I was a wee tot and I just remember a very very hard garden section with gnomes and my little idiot brain couldn’t comprehend
Happy to take you back to the past. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
this and the PC version were the 2 versions i played the most out of as a kid and i can safely say it was time well spent!!!!
I only had the PC version of this as a kid and think I quit playing at the hedge maze iirc lol. I would like to go back and play it again, as well as the ps1 games. Thanks for checkin out the vid and leaving an awesome comment! :D
Just realized the game referred to the Dursley’s as Harry’s stepparents lol
They were in a sense. They did take him in as an orphan. His Aunt Petunia is actually his maternal aunt.
@@videofanatiq101 that’s not the correct term of stepparents. They are his aunt and uncle.
This game was really... really hard.
Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
It was
thanks for this, brought back old memories!
Glad I could bring you some positive nostalgia! Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
omg I've played this game a million times and never noticed the room at 47:31
That's wild. Thanks for watching/commenting! :D
@@LongplayUniverse :)
For its age, this game still looks great!
Man the sound of those gnomes gettin knocked out. Wow what a rush of nostalgia lol
Happy I could take you back to the past. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
just a little memory with gba bring me here thank you for make me remember it 🤝
Glad I could bring some positive nostalgia your way! Thanks for watching/commenting! :D
I remember my catrtridge qas faulty and the saving system never worked. It was awful because I never could finish the game until much later and, of course, I had to finish all in a long play. This certainly brings back memories
Dang, finishing it all in one go must have been a marathon. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
@@LongplayUniverse It's no problem! Thanks for replying! And thanks for the video too!
I play this game all the time on KBH Games on PC because sadly I didn't get a playboy, but it was a game that made me feel immediately that I was Harry Potter, but this is a marvelous game and tutorial, keep it up!
Thanks for taking the time to share your story. Thanks for checkin out the vid as well, I appreciate it! :D
out of all the releases of philosophers stone video games, the gba version was probably my favourite one... i always loved the top down style.
Interesting, I liked this one but I would probably say the GBC version is my fave. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
@@LongplayUniverse oh don't get me wrong I had alot of fun with all the available versions that were different
Got this for Christmas when I was 12. Completed it by the end of the day. What a game!
That's awesome. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
My first Harry Potter game was The Chamber of Secrets for the GBA. I loved it and finished it within a few cosy evenings. A few moths later I spent a weekend at my aunt's place. My two cousins loved Harry Potter and we used to listen to the audio books on cassette tapes a lot. We went shopping that afternoon and then I saw The Philosophercerer's Stone for the GBA on the shelf. My aunt bought it for me and we booted it up immediately. I was shocked how different it was from the second one. And a lot more difficult. Like Blockbuster deal difficult. It may be incredibly flawed, but it has its good moments. You just have to look for them, really hard. I guess all I can give the game credit for is the nostalgic memories. My favourite Game Boy versions have to be the Prisoner of Azkaban and the GBC ones, even though they are a little basic and shallow in terms of gameplay mechanics, in my opinion the RPG genre is perfect for the series.
Also, sorry if my English seems a bit wonky, I'm German and still practising to articulate fluently.
Thank you for the amazing comment. To be honest, I actually like the Philosopher's Stone on GBA more than Chamber of Secrets but I do agree with you that the RPG games are the best. Thanks again for the comment and checkin the vid! :D
I remember this game so well. But I don't remember ever seeing a win screen lol 5 year old me was too happy on the first level lol
Happy I could take you back to the past! :D
1:30:18 have you noticed secret room with silver chest on the left of you? Any idea how to get there?
I played this game 15 years ago for the first time, and I haven't figure out since then how to enter that chamber. There is not doors or windows, nothing, just room with solid walls. Honestly, this is the biggest game secret for me in my entire life. I start thinking that this is some kind of devs's joke or just unused secret room
I kinda like the music that plays when you're learning a new spell, its very catchy.
Also, I don't recall Hermione ever wearing nylons...
Stealth action levels is my favourite part of this game.
Also just remember to watch where the Prefects move.
''I heard you're afraid of Gnomes, Potter'' Rofl.
Ahh yes i perfectly remember the level with lots of platforms on the 5th floor that led to the erised mirror, it was f*cking hell it took me 3 hours when i was 6yrs
I had a gameboy when I was a kid but I didn't have this game just recently got another gameboy advance sp and this game and I have been loving it.
Yeah this was a good game imo. Thanks for the comment and checkin out the video! :D
I remember this game bc I was getting scared at the ending boss (quirell) and the way he walked around the room😂😂😂
LOL, interesting way to remember the game. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Can you do the other handheld Harry Potter games as well? There's barely any walkthroughs available for those versions.
Absolutely! I will add the gbc and gba ones to my list!
@@LongplayUniverse And the DS and PSP versions?
I will try!
Imagine if we transferred these graphics to an online pokemon game
I couldn’t get past the greenhouse level! Then I couldn’t complete the chess challenge in the PlayStation game so I never got to finish any of them!!!
I bet they both would be easy for you now though. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Haha! Gnomes go *BLEH*
The broomstick part was difficult for me, very tough to control.
2:09:59 GBC Battle music.
Wow, you're correct. That's cool.
this is me
part of my brain is this
And that gummy bear that tasted bad
I didn’t have a console yet, but I had my gameboy and I got this for Christmas and it kept me occupied for months.
Love to hear it. Thanks for checkin out the video! :D
I remember hiding in a cabinet playing this game lol
Lol, that's awesome.
Took me ages to get past the midnight duel, I got stumped at the herbology house
Glad you got through! :D
Omg i played the hell out of this game as a youngin. Once i got fully bored with it i threw it in the fireplace
LOL, I love a story with a happy ending. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
I loved this game 👁️💦👄💦👁️
Thanks for watching/commenting! :D
>Positives: battery save
I think you have it backwards lol. Do you have any idea how dangerous replacing save batteries is? At least replacing them properly, anyway, not that Bandaid tape shit.
lol I just look at the game as-is and I like battery save more than inputting a password. I understand eventually the batter has to be replaced and that sucks so I see where you're coming from. Thanks for watching and commenting (and also reading the review portion, I am not sure how many people do that)! :D
how do you make catching the golden snitch look so easy, these controls are very annoying
You can change the flying controls
@@holyavocado7603: It's still sort of difficult to get used to either mode though. And catching that wretched key near the end is hard in an evil way.
I'm surprised this game is only 2.5 hours long, but that's probably because I keep on dying and taking long breaks before attempting to play again. 😅 Right now I'm stuck at the section at 1:32:49 because I keep falling into the pits 😑
You got this! :D
Do you remember what is the most House Points you can get in this version of the Sorcerer’s Stone?
600 points
Silver chest 1:30:19 how to get it? Did see?
where is severus room i need it for my soul
I just found the cartridge for this on the side of the road
Nice! Does it work?
@@LongplayUniverse oh no, that thing had tons of water damage and was corroded
The game looks OK, graphics were good for the time (although 2:03:08 just accidentally let loose a spoiler) and the gameplay looks decent, and I like the digitized voice work (and 2:26:01 makes me laugh 😆), but the music sucks IMO.
Hey thanks for taking the time to watch the video and to leave this awesome comment. I appreciate it! :D
@@LongplayUniverse You're welcome. :)
There's one other odd thing I noticed too; how come there's no cutscene of Harry getting the Stone from the mirror? It gives off the impression that they were really rushing on the final part of it, like if they had made a game based off of, say _Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,_ and forgot to put a cutscene of Indy getting the Grail.
Cutscenes should be FMV, not text dialogues.
I played till 1:29:35 - then the game pissed me off. 😕
Dang, sorry to hear that D:
I just finished and I had only 159 points ahaha
I always found the Chamber Of Secrets game to be a massive downgrade compared to this.
I did as well tbh, I gave this one a 3.5/5 and gave Chamber of Secrets a 2.5/5. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
That's the wrong name though.
Hate this game with a passion, forced myself to finish it
Dang, good job on finishing it though.
1:32:50 - the worst part of this game
The pc version was better
Yeah the PC version is pretty cool!
GameBoy color was cool to
Yeah I agree! I have a video for that version! I didn't use any of the cards though.
Certainly yes, but the GBA version had more levels for example the dark forest and include a eliminated spell from PC version it was avifors.
