The way I see it is the coach has tactics in place for players… meaning each player was given a specific task to do on the field. Kevin De Bruyne was a talented player during his days in a German Team (Wolfsburg). At that time KDB’s current coach was coaching another German team who played at the same league as KDB so he saw what KDB can do. KDB’s current coach went to a England team (Manchester City) which is the team KDB plays in. Anyways… the coach knows what KDB can do and is a weapon on a field because of his passing and ability to make plays. Mean while his teammates are told to make forward runs to score, allowing KDB to know where each player is at, at a given moment.
Btw I was a tailback. And forward in soccer, manipulating the ball is part of the game. You learn all that stuff playing for years. And the vision is kind of like qb without planned routes but you understand defense and formation. You get a feel for space and how to create it either for yourself or for another player. Similar to basketball but on a larger scale with much more space and ball manipulation. It's quite literally chess without the board. You get used to it. The thing with Kevin is he doesnt miss, never loses the ball, and most importantly he doesn't make the wrong decisions Bad decisions plauge skilled players. Game IQ has to be very high at thos level and in unison.
Goallie for sure is a very tough job. There was a legendary goalie, Oliver Kahn who dragged a mediocre german side through to the final of a World Cup (or maybe Euros, im not quite sure) and than conceded 1 very unlucky goal he should have had. It was raining and the ball slipped through his fingers. They lost 1 nill Im pretty sure. After the game theres a very famous pickture of him sitting at the goalpoast, completely devestated. When he was asked in an interview what he was thinking at that moment he answered something like: "How insane do I need to to become a goalkeeper, you hold everything the entire tournament and than something like this happens and tommorow Im gonna get torn apart in the newspapers".
If you want to see masterclass passes, check Andrea Pirlo, Ronaldinho also has many great ones. Even Pirlo's goals look like he was passing the ball to the net, as myself and many football ⚽ fans would say. He is the king of passing and the prince of Panenka
