You are right of not comparing black men with Chinese. People are people and Rose choose to leave her country to marry a Chinese man. I am sure Rose will not demand her husband to spend more than he can afford, because she knows his personality and his pocket. I hate to see some of these negative response.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way but I find it fascinating that in 8 years Rose has left her job, her home country, gotten married, learnt Mandarin, travelled across China, became a farmer and mom and is now a famous international TH-camr while life has remained more or less the same for those she used to work with and grew up with. Its really interesting how life works. I’m really really happy that Rose is being rewarded for her leap of faith and hey…not everything is about achieving something “significant”, regular life is also a reward in its own way…I was just reflecting on this as she visited the place where her dreams unfolded, seeing her old colleagues still there❤️

She got a chance to travel yes, but Uganda life is definately easier and better. If her husband and son come to Uganda, they will have a much better life than in China. She is missing out on dressing, doing her hair etc. That China life is hard. You have to be very strong to manage it. Eating pork everyday is not important for us.
Some people work the same job for the same company the rest of their life. There is nothing wrong in that. In addition, just because they are still there doesn't mean nothing has changed.
No pun intended. there is a proverb in my language that says traveling makes you wiser and opens your eyes.
Rose amazes me. She moves without effort between the language she grew up with, Chinese and English.
Already in Uganda we speak many languages. It's easy for us to adapt. Many tribes in Uganda will not manage the village life in China. It's way too tough but she comes from a tribe with strong people. They can climb mountains

Soon they will wake up and realize we are even more awake than them. This is why I left those countries and live in Uganda. We don't live in trees.
It's very common to speak 3+ languages in Uganda. I believe Rose also speaks Acholi with her mother.

I think he likes it. He expected to find slums instead he found beautiful things and places. Africa is misunderstood always. Her home in Tororo is way better than her house in China plus she doesn't have to go digging everyday. Tough life.

Why do you feel the need to compare her home in Africa to her home in China, as well as the work she does? In China she works hard for her family. Is there something wrong with that? Are you offended that she works in the field in China? She possibly could have been working the field in Africa too, had she stayed there.

Almost everyone in Uganda speaks English. Children these days cannot even speak our local languages anymore. All my 4 children speak only English.

I'm completely the opposite. Once I leave somewhere, I dont like to go back. I leave somewhere for a reason. I've been quite lucky where my former job or buildings or both have completely changed out of all recognition. 😂

What a loving, kind and patient husband.
Why is everyone surprised that Rose speaks more than one language? Africa was colonized by Europeans. Most Africans speak more than one language and we can switch easily. I am South African lviing in Canada. In school I studied my mother tongue ( Sesotho), English, and Afrikaans (its like Dutch). As a child I also learned all the other South African languages like Zulu, Xhosa, Tsonga, and Setswana. Now in Canada I am conversant in French.

Well its also no big deal of a mixed marriage. There has always been mixed marriages and with colonialism even more! Back in the day because there was no Internet, nobody knew and nobody really cared. Nobody in Uganda cares because I can bet you most people will know somebody who lives abroad and again with colonialism they are all used to people walking through.

I love both cultures. Many years [20+] I purchased a navy blue 3 piece leather sofa from Uganda. I still have it in my family room. My reasonably home furnishings are inspired by different cultures. I love and respect all cultures and love watching worldliness. However, this couple is BEAUTIFULLY YOKED, awesome, intelligent, sharing, carrying and affectionate❤ 😊

We do speak English in Uganda, as long as you go to school, it's the official language😊
