Break and shake. When to do it. Bruising or contamination? What to do with old spawn...drink it!

The best part of waking up is purple drank in my cup, and some Ed1K dropping some knowledge.
I had no idea what you said when u breaking it up
Thank you!! The pep talk at the end was priceless! So effin relatable! I actually reached out on messenger a few months back I'm the old punk rocker you are inspiring 😉 thank you for giving us this information so freely and frankly.
Droppin knowledge like always!👍👌
what did you say?
Are those the new flavor of Coco Puffs?🤪
I would eat that like Breakfast Cereal 😋
agar is the very first step , i don,t know why people skip it or get into it later on .
N0 BUD IT ISNT
🎉😊
What would happen if I mixed two different genetics in one bin
You will grow two strains in the same bin. They will compete for nutrients, fight each other, and you will get suboptimal yields for both. They will not hybridize if that is what you are thinking...
@@edwardgrand thank you, much appreciated. I just watched yoshis video of Jack Frost x Natalensis and see how a verified breeding would go. Gonna watch more of your videos and attempt my first shot and getting a monokaryo
@@TacosGaming I am on the monokaryon train already, but if you are just getting into it, you can try what is called a 'ghetto swab' or 'double swab' technique. You just basically take two fresh fruits and repeatedly swab the gills with the same cotton bud and then plate it use a criss-cross pattern. It's a bit of a guessing game, but you might get two spores to germinate and mate with each other to form a unique cross/dikaryon.
@@edwardgrand i Like your spore dilution mono method im gona bring some plates and the scope to camp next run at work to play with some spores after shift should beable to make something happen in 11 shifts ! thanks for the info cant get enough of your content i almost wached ever video in the last few days mush Love Ed you rock brother
@@edwardgrand is that only in the case of two different strains? Or would that also happen with two selected genetics from the same strain?
What happens if I got too excited and dome the break and shake too early??
Nothing will happen if the grain is properly sterilized. Anytime after like 20% is fine. Doesn't matter that much when you do it, or how many times if the grain is sterile.
Is it ok to break and shake multiple times? Like early when it’s spotty thru the bag/jar
Yea, most people do it at 30 and 90%. It's fine, I just wouldn't do it everyday.
Ok cool
in my experience, too many shakes can stress the mycelium and stagnate growth
@@arnaudzabriskie323 ^^ THIS. agreed, patience is a virtue always remember, plus I believe longer colonized myc performs better imo
Can’t hear you
Yeah. I didn't realize how loud the bags where. Sorry about that.
