Same here. I try to make them look nice then I watch this and see mine are crappy and it takes sooo much time to do even crappy. Really wish we could have some of the settlers do construction and help build. 30 settlements is a lot if you do them all and I am not even at 10 yet. Had to restart the game so many times do to a glitch with the creation club add on. Finally found video that shows their skin mods messes up the games.
@@LynnR40The biggest problem is that none of your work stays. It's all bound into that one save game, and by the time you have settlements that look like this, you've probably exhausted all the quests and such. So you're just sort of building settlements that never amount to any thing. It was fun at first, but the fact that all that hard work just evaporates when you start a new game REALLY disincentivizes the work. Fallout 76 had the right idea with making it multiplayer so you could share your experiences, the problem was they made it an MMO WITHOUT a story. The whole feeling kind of reminds me like if McDonalds went "You guys like french fries? Gotcha, we've replaced every item on the menu with nothing but french fries. Also, you have to pay for admission now."
I love the different styles to all of the shops. The whole settlement looked awesome, but the market/shops section was flawless. Great decorations and style on your building structures. Your build style is similar to my own, but your decor is much more thoughtful. Great work and thanks for sharing.
I originally saw this exact video about 3 years ago when I was a new builder. This particular build stayed with me over my many attempts here. The fact I still think about the patience and design here is a testament to it being one of the best no mods builds I've ever seen. Salute, wherever you are!

Your market section is amazing! Would have liked to see more of your clothing shop since it didn't seem you went upstairs at all... Also I only say this because of how much obvious love and care went into the build as a whole... the sleeping areas seemed a bit lacking. I feel like even just some storage boxes at the foot of the beds for your settlers to store personal items would make it feel more lived in.
I plan to add a lot more details like you suggested in various places, the whole thing is still a work in progress but someone wanted a tour uploading as it looked right now. Also several rooms (like the settlers rooms) did have more details but a trigger happy super mutant with a missile launcher blew the loose junk items all over the place.
@@GhostDancer16 haha yeah, that can happen with junk items as decoration, I get it. Even just Bethesda's physics engine can have you open a door and have everything explode. If you're still working, I can make a suggestion you can take or leave that I did for my city in Starlight Drivein. If you use the brick walls from the Slocum's Joe creation club with the door holes, you can then put the curtains from the Nuka Cafe over the sides to create the effect of an entrance to a changing room. Maybe add a wood bench and a standing mirror, since I see you have those, into the room, and that could add a nice touch to your clothing shop.

Okay, question from a noob - how does this not exceed the size bar? Because this is amazing but I feel like I couldn't put nearly that much before it reached its limit! Or have I just been overestimating how fast that thing fills up?
It very much exceeds the size limit by about... 3 or 4 times, give or take. There's a little trick where you can reduce the bar without scraping anything you've built. Just drop a load of weapons on the floor then open up build mode, use build mode to store (don't scrap them) the weapons you've dropped in the workshop, it will think you're storing built items and drop the bar down. You can then go into the workshop and take those weapons back out to repeat the process. Just keep in mind that the more you go over the build size the more laggy the settlement may become.
I was thinking the same thing? But I have read the response. I've never tried that myself but i'll give it a go , nevertheless it is still an excellent build. Where did the Protectron come from?
Damn this is a nice build. I would never have thought to put a fountain in the pool, it looks amazing like an actual fancy hotel pool rather than a motel pool. I may have to steal that idea........Who am I kidding. I download building mods then freak out because there is too much choice. Am never satisfied with what I build so give up and start a new character.
I have issues with settlement size, can't build anymore, and I have built way less than this in the Slog. Also Vault 88 is reached it's limits, even though I built a lot of tunnels and rooms attached to them. Ok, I do have a high ceiling Atrium there, probably that's the thing messing with the limits.
Really nice for not having any mods, but all I can think of when I watch these kind of videos is how much better and detailed it could have been if you were using mods
If you consider them mods then go nuts, but personally I think there's a big difference between building with some extra decorative objects from creation club and building using mods that allow placement of items anywhere or allow you to delete obstacles instead of having to find ways to build around them.

Not the same type of mods as "Build Anywhere", "Scrap Everything", "OCD Decorator", etc. Remember, this is on the PS4, and Sony _hates_ that kind of mods... for some reason, they consider it "hacking the game". (Which may be the reason why Bethesda made the Creation Club in the first place.)
When it takes an in-depth understanding of build mode mechanics to get a multicoloured Creation Club light bulb to float in mid-air by first placing it on preexisting wall, making sure it's not close enough to placed objects to allow group selection, group selecting it with a pillar and hoping it's the correct hight, then standing at an elevated hight and angle to allow the pillar to sit on the floor below while trying to line up the top of the light bulb with the wire, before finally removing the pillar and giving it the illusion it's actually connected. When it takes me all of those steps to get a single one of those light bulbs in place, verses someone using a place anywhere mod that lets them place anything they want, anywhere they like, in no time at all? You better believe I'm going to call my building method no-mods, sir.
