Nice tune Marty from a guitarist that is little known here in Europe. Most didn't even know it wasn't Dylan that wrote " Early morning rain". After your rendition I found it pretty easy to follow and add a little picking on the E on each line, found it adds a little rythm to the song, but hey who am I to tell you how to play it. Keep up the good work Marty for the benefit of all of us.

Marty, love this and your other vids...you break it down great...the only thing that would help more is for those of us who struggle to hear the strumming pattern, if you took a few seconds to break it down with demonstration and identify the pattern by saying Down Up Up Down Up or whatever the pattern is. That would really help, and would probably only take 30 secs or so...either way, thanks for putting your lessons out there!
I will keep that in mind from here on out. Slowing the vid down does help. Best to be patient and make the strum your own a little. With practice it will come. Good luck

I was wondering what the top five songs from your list that get people in their 30 to sign along. I am working on memorizing margaritaville and sitting on the dock on the bay at the moment. I like the slap strum it make it sound good. I have been doing it using just the E and A string with a solid strum on those two strings up and down the fret board just to make sound a little different.

Now Sundown has a unique sound especially at the start and that is done with an E5 chord where the high E and B strings are open. Now just playing an E chord will not give one that sound even though it fits into the song.
Absolutely. The way the song is taught here doesn’t come close to the special feel of the right chord shapes. Makes the song sound lame, and devoid of its hauntingly melancholic, bittersweet tinge. Worthless tutorial without at least mentioning the proper chord shapes.

You can slow down the video if needed. Might not help with some of the ghost upstrokes that don't hit the strings but should help.

The second strum is basically the same timing,, but adding a percussive stroke.. I prefer the second strum as it fills in the drum beat 🤷♂️
