As for the US OST being bad, I disagree. I love both OSTs quite a lot, and I don't have an overall favorite because both soundtracks have their strengths and weaknesses.
And yes, having a different opinion from the majority is "ironic" in this instance. My liking of both OSTs equally is an unpopular opinion itself.

The reason this song is so in your face about not destroying the generator in the past, is because this was your last chance to get the good future. The INSTANT this stage starts and you see what it's like, you're done. The song literally says there's nothing you can do and that you shouldn't bother attempting to fix it. You fucked up, and you'll get the bad ending, that's it.
that is unless you got the time stones, which is the other main way to get the good ending.

@@fxgspartan Yeah, thats true, I even said this on my lets play on Sonic CD. If you have bad future playing on act 3, you've lost because you didn't get all generators and you missed at least one time stone.
Fun fact: On my offscreen playthrough of Sonic CD, I still got the bad ending, despite having good future on the last stage, because I still missed 1 generator back in wacky workbench, and I missed three time stones. Its because I destroyed the last two generators in metalic madness, so I did free MM, but not WW.
I love how the bass drops at 00:10, but unlike other darker Sonic songs, there’s no subsuquent break or verse that offers hope or a chance or relief. That oppressive motif falls on top of you, and it doesn’t relent.
I'm not a music expert or anything but the chords are awesome and go so well with the orchestral hit. it also sounds like a great end game song.

I love this song because it tells you what you've done and mocks you for being unable to get the good ending. The laughing state that Robotnik won and he is laughing at you for helping him do so.
The warnings state that the place is now full of traps and badniks so you should watch out.
If you're in the bad future of the 3rd act in metallic madness zone, there will be no time posts anywhere so, you can't do anything now, it's too late to turn back so don't even try it. Now you must face the consequences of your actions. Get some help tells you that Sonic is felling lost because he wanted to save the world but now... Everything is destroyed and he feels depressed, so he needs some help. Don't do what Sonic does states Eggman telling his machines not to be like Sonic and is mocking him. Yeah. Finally, he states that no matter where or how Sonic is, he will be his.
It would have been better if the vocals were added with each act the 1st act in bad future would have the laughter the 2nd adding some of the sentences saying get some help and don’t even try it and the 3rd well having everything

Most Bad futures have the feeling of being industrial or heavy, but this does not give much of that feeling, instead it's the past and present themes that give off that feeling. This song just sounds like it's saying, "You fucked it up, congratulations idiot."
It also sounds a lot more dystopian than any of the other Bad Futures.

This song always felt to me like it represented a phyrric victory for eggman. He conquered little planet, but found himself simply ruling over a wasteland... by this point, even his grandest fortress has fallen into decay and ruin, his final legacy being the pre-recorded messages ringing throughout the ruins, celebrating an empty victory...
If I were to have designed this game, I would have had two different versions of the final boss, where the bad future version is a very elderly(possibly even dead) eggman hooked up to a screen-filling bank of machines, and the entire fight is just against the built-in security systems with eggman's husk never moving at all.

This is a long post, but one involving my thoughts on the matter of the game's events.
Wouldn't make sense in this case, as Eggman had been time-traveling like us the whole time, and we don't even need a sign to reach the future near Zone 3. That's how he set up construction so early in the pasts, became more well-established in the present, but yet all went to heck in the future.
His bases being shoddy in Bad Futures is clearly due to both lack of resources later on, combined with his reliance on the silly notion he'd find the time gems [which he doesn't even get more than one of in the bad ending], and also due to him resorting to having to take time off his plans to set traps for Sonic on the fly, which he probably should have planned for more in advance by just colonizing some robots, then taking over the Little Planet the next time it came around. So, he stays youthful by just relying on the time travel, but he again proves himself a fool even with that 300IQ and oversized ego, unable to handle the demands of keeping his enemy at bay in addition to maintaining a colossal planet-fortress even when he had a headstart.
But alas, it's Phyrric at the end of it, but it doesn't kill him. Still means tons of lives are ruined due to Sonic's screw-ups in the bad ending... yet, the fact Eggman just brings the little planet back implies he set himself up for failure instead, as Sonic can just keep trying again and again until he whoops the Doctor's behind for good, especially with all the time travel paradoxes that makes which leaves backdoors to throw his influence off the planet, and make it as if his victory never was a reality, and set things right.
Basically, it's just an exercise in futility to take over the Little Planet even if you are Eggman... and he'd have been better off planning Death Egg from the get go. xD
Too long didn't read: Even this far back Eggman's defeat is assured, even if things go wrong and sonic loses, due to time travel making his nemesis come again and again, until things are fixed. Lovely nightmare retardant.
Now if only they let the Sonic CD remake have that new final boss, but alas.... but i guess not even that snazzy final boss makes sense, because Egghead's not had enough time to plan something proper up anyway. [I imagine that all his fights were pretty hastily planned on his part, since i think he didn't plan on Sonic's appearance anyway.]
Doesn't justify the letdown the final boss was, but i feel it makes so much sense.

This one track conveys so many feelings to me and I can’t stop listening to it. I’ve litterally listened to it for hours on end. It’s that good. Easily part of my top three tracks from this game, along with Metallic Madness Past and Tidal Tempest Present (JP).
In terms of Japanese music, my favorites are all of Collision Chaos.
For American music my favorite song in the game is Wacky Workbench Good Future. The other favorites are Tidal Tempest Good Future and Collision Chaos Present.
I’m not too big on the Good Future Tracks as a whole, especially the US ones, but Tidal Tempest Good Future (US) is pretty good. Nothing beats Stardust Speedway Good Future (JP) though for me.
I just prefer the Bad Future tracks overall, and the past ones even more so. Not to say that any track is bad, it’s just not my cup of tea.
For me, I’ve always loved the Good Future themes, which is also a place where the US Soundtrack shined the most for me. Palmtree Panic US, Collision Chaos JPN, Stardust Speedway JPN, and Wacky Workbench US Good Futures are spectacular. Bad Future themes in general aren’t too bad. There’s only a few I don’t like, and Metallic Madness is NOT one of them.

This is no joke the darkest song I’ve ever heard in a game. Even the most down in the dumps songs have some kind of positive factor to them. But this straight up tells you that it’s over and to just give up. Eggman won, there’s no going back. Several games mock the player for messing up, but nothing like this. If there’s another song out there even darker than this, I’d love to hear it. But honestly, I don’t think this can be topped.
Basecly this feels Eggman won but lose at the same time since his base looks so abandon and dying with 2 much power this became the result of his place and it also feels “Good” Future in Sonic perspective lol

People saying that Robotnik is talking yo the player or Sonic doesn't make sense to me. If he was talking to Sonic, why would he refer to him separately? I think it's him reinforcing hopelessness in his slaves with these big announcements to remind them that they're powerless, and to spread propaganda that "what Sonic does" is bad, because it directly challenges Robotnik's regime.

These lyrics make me really scared and actually FEEL what I’ve caused. First time I played this game, I got the bad ending. And for some reason, I feel bad? I know this is all fiction, but I still feel really bad. How can a game form 1993 do this? At least I got the good ending next time I played.

The only thing closet to Horror in Sonic CD (JP/PAL)
When you take into account the true nature of the locations where the Bad Future (or "B" Mix) tracks play, it really is horror. The whole world is deteriorating to the point where even Eggman's robots are starting to crumble and die. And by the time you hear the first few notes of this song, chances are it's already too late to save Little Planet, just like the lyrics imply.

I only heard this when I accidently traveled to the future in Zone 2, telling me "DO SOMETHING NOW!" and I only have 5 good futures, Palmtree panic, Tidal Tempest, Quartz Quadrant, Stardust Speedway and this.
Wacky workbench is hell to time travel through the second act is easier with the start but if you touch a future sign you have to go back there to run it off safely or use the cycling system luckily the time stones are all able to be in your possession by the start of Quartz Quadrant

If you ask me, this version really captures the intense of Eggman and his plan for world domination and really wants Sonic dead…really capture of the Bad Future perfectly.
I'd say more that the lyrics are Metal Sonic, considering (aside from Sonic 4) I feel like he would have already repaired Metal in the Bad Future.

I like how not only the US Boss theme is creepy, but I would say this is equally as creepy from the lyrics of the TTS voice, the rappers from Metallic Madness present leaving, and to me the instrument at 0:29 sounds like a kid yelling as if they’re running away or something. Metallic Madness Bad Future in the US version is nothing like this, it’s actually more pleasant than this.
