So glad you decided to restart. Half the fun of Baro is stupid and chaotic ways to die and it happens a lot, one of the few games where dying is fun. Also the dugong is also a bit of a meme in the baro community. It's a jack of all, master of none ship. I kinda hope with this run you make it to some of the next regions. The game really gets hectic after the first region. Also, yes you can add three random abilities to the helm. Once you do a few runs, I highly recommend trying out the submarine editor. But if it's to complicated at first, there are thousands of subs of all kinds on the steam workshop. GL on this voyage, may the abyss only watch not touch ;)

Also i’m glad you started over and recorded the second go around since you know what you’re not lost but also not a 1000 hour player and still figuring some things out. Keep it up i’m subscribing :)

The oxygen canister shells below the diving suits also refill the o2 in them if they're powered. Vanilla submarines should have them powered by default. With talents, you have to add at least 2 in the first row, then at least 2 in the second row to unlock the other trees. You can add as many as you want, but 2 is needed. Usually on a normal run without backtracking, you can max out 2 trees.

In the settings when starting a campaign you can modify a lot of things. Dugong is for an easier start, Barsuk is harder even though it doesn't look like it.
I know it might sound like a blasphemy, but I'm enjoying this game more than Quasimorph at this point 😎 And your videos are like a ray of demented sunshine! And about the previous run - I still think it was Mr. Delange's week-old vomit that procced the cultists' transformation.
@@Stoutworthy a tier one sub won't survive the aphotic plateau, if you wanna go super deep, like abyssally deep, I'd recommend the remora when you get far enough to buy it.
Would it be ok if I were to make a custom submarine for you? it might take a few weeks but I can make it probably, if you want it themed after anything tell me!

You can buy new submarines at dockyard stations, it's a required feature for progression.
