- The Nautitech 542 has a TON to offer in the realm of cruising catamarans. She's HUGE on the inside and very well set up for a cruising family that doesn't want to leave any creature comforts of a land based life on land when they're cruising. She also performs well when compared to other cruising catamarans on the market, so this is a win all around.

Learning the Lines is a channel about us, an average couple in our 20's, with big dreams to be sailing the world by the time we're in our 30's. We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. We started out with Somnium, an O'day 272, moved onto Freebie, an Endeavour 32, and now are focusing on sailboat tours and working full time as teachers while we save up for our next boat.

Always great content - thanks for another boat tour! Every sailing catamaran you do just makes me itch to buy one one day a little more!!
another beautiful boat, the only thing i would add are Hi Res 160view cameras looking forward and HD Monitors right above the helm stations so i can see in front
circuit breakers in a storage locker outside
i bet that wont ever be annoying or potentially dangerous in bad weather.
also i have to say i like nautitech but they do look very dated now
if you did not say that it is a 2019 i would have guessed it to be 2004-2006 ish , that really sucks for such an expensive boat
That's a lot of boat. I do worry about the application of fabric covering to the overheads and hulls sides if it is simply glued on. Invariably the foam backing disintegrates and the vinyl/suede/whatever starts falling down.
Yes, very nice, but what about Desperado? It's been a year since last video!
Nicely done, thank you!
That's a very nice cat! As is common, they are pretty expensive. My pet name for catamarans is House Boat with Sails and that fits well with this boat. : - )
ALL that clutter and fixed keels = SLUG!
Wonder why they're selling their _-gin_palace-_ marina queen.
I'm always impressed by Nautitech for a production cat. I like that the center of effort is low however having done many thousands of off shore miles I would rather have a covered helm like Leopard . They have done a few with the helm on the bulkhead but most have the outboard helms.
I like to do my watches with 360 views. For those that like outboard helms I'd like to know the advantages on a cruising cat please?
Fabulous boat, surely you’ve missed a washing machine/dryer in one of those wardrobes or storage areas? I cannot believe this amazing home doesn’t have every facility.
Great engine room. The best place for diesel is in a proper tank. All in all a nice cat.
This is floating palace. Wish I could afford something like this.
The only thing i would change would be, instead of his and her sinks i would rather have a washer/dryer. Petty i know. Beautiful boat
Love the video. You're a favorite because you don't just look at new boats. You also get some of the most interesting boats. I'm not sure this is a great boat for Nova Scotia or or here in the US North East. I could see myself in the Bahamas on this, Block Island in Nov, not so much. Off Maine in Nov, Nope.
Thanks for showing us a Cat. Can you find some in the 500,000 range ?
Its hot here (NS) today 11 degrees C man burning up.
ps great video as per norm well done.
That ceiling looks like the same "sound deadening" material used in RV's. Excellent if that is the case ! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
Sorry but IMHO I’d much rather access the engine from under a bed. If you’re having to do some emergency repairs in any kind of sea I don’t think I’d like to be hanging out the back to get access. Seems to be a common issue with cats that are intended to be dockside queens or day sailing.
Electric motors from a nissan leaf or smaller and run a larger generator.
Was there a washing machine on board.
It says wired and plumbed for one. But I didnt see one. That would be a must have. I dont know where it would live tho.
Thanks, I didn't read through all the information section.
@@philipdoyle7037 im guessing they opted for the additional cold storage instead. So Im guessing the w/d would be in that location. Somewhere on the master side, for sure.
Beautiful boat... and I suppose the $1.35M asking price isn't out of line.
🥰
Its a nice boat, but out of range for most buyers. Can we see some affordable boats?
You hold your shaky camera going around and around, without showing the door to owner's wing. It would be ridiculous if the owner cabin can only stay open.
I just realized how poor I am..
The helm position is bloody awful. I've delivered a Naughty and I HATED the outboard helm. You cannot see the opposite bow at all, if the windows aren't clear or the sun is shining on then, your visibility is even more
limited and on passage, just unsafe and in weather wet, cold and miserable.. Oh and taking to line handlers on the front is almost impossible. I would never buy a cat with steering where this boat has it. Nightmare.
Who needs that many showers?
If you need that many showers you might have a problem.
Steps to nowhere. Totally exposed nav/pilot station(s), windows covered to protect from the heat… nah. Wrong design.
1.3 million? For real? Crazy that anyone could plop that much down for a boat. How about some realistic boats…..
Sigh... That's a 50+ft catamaran. If you want to show something special, try to find one in that category that doesn't have lots of space, all kinds of gimmicks on board and is not enormously expensive.
Please stop with the word "got", less talking maybe.
I'm fine with his format
