It’s not hard to get into the pro world if you are a decent boxer, but it’s hard to be top tier, top paid, fighting the best of the best. It’s easy to become a pro boxer but definitely not easy to be a known pro.
@@giandeleon1711 nah bro. 16 is around the perfect age to start but 18 is still early and you have more than enough time if you have some natural talent and skill already. Most pro champs start around 16 so 18 is still very young. Deontay wilder started at like 27 and he was the champ. You are good. Most of these kids that you see on the internet boxing at 8 years old getting hit in the head, they have all this skill but will have a career ending injury before they make it. Highschool-24 is a great time to start honestly. As long as you have natural talent. You can catch up.

The problem aswell is guys turn up a gym train for a bit start sparring with people the same level as them then the coach makes them believe they are the next Canelo or Crawford till they spar someone decent and they get their ass handed to them. It's OK to have self belief but understand that in boxing there are levels at every point and it's upto you to keep pushing up to the next level,your not at the top level because you beat up some guy in sparring at your own gym.
I'm a little late but another thing, if they beat someone up in sparring then that's another thing they are doing wrong, it's for learning not tryna knock eachothers heads off
To become a pro boxer you also need to be a good ticket seller,well its like that in Britain,if you sell at least 300+ tickets then a promoter will get you a fight.

Do you have a guideline for those like myself looking for sparring partners outside of there gym? I train in Muaythai right now I’m 30 5’9 120 pounds more or less. I know that my skills are at a basic level but the people I’ve found so far at my weight, have not been able to push me. I know there are young guys out there less weight than me and could totally kick my ass which is why I’m asking how should I approach another gym and person so that I don’t come off as some kind of arrogant ass hole. If you truly want it, shoot your shot before it’s actually too late.

It's all a case by case, Everybody is different but I'd say once you have 50-100 amateur fights if you're young enough that's a great amount of experience but I've also seen guys have no amateur career and just learn on the job by sparring professionals till they we're ready!

Ahmed,Anthony Joshua didn't start boxing till he was 18,deontay wilder didn't start till his early 20s,both are Olympic medalist and world champions so the answer to your question is yes you can still become a boxer. Have a long hard think about it though because it's hard work in and out of the gym.

Where I live ( Belguim ) , you need to have about 20 amateur fights and win atleast 1/2 of them before you qualify to go pro
