I read some, but I am not sure if the translation was complete 🥲...I decided to read in 2021 "brother karamqzove " which translated to Arabic in 4 books , I just finished the first one 😥I wish I could complete it before the end of the year.
Yessss. Most of them. And these days I read his short stories. But I love love Brothers Karamazov and Underground notes. They changed my life. And also I love other famous big books. Like Crime and Punishment, The Idiot, Devils and so on
Hello Tatiana! So far I've read most of his works. I have yet to read Adolescent, House of the dead, Poor folk and the Idiot. Dostoyevsky is one of my favourite geniuses... The way he describes the dark depths of the human heart is extraordinarily invoking. My favourite character of all times is (of course) Nikolai Stavrogin (an angelic Demon). Only Dostoyevsky could manage to give birth with his writing to such an extremely ambivalent personality such as Nikolai's.
Hello Tanya, Thank you for your blog, I love it when you take us for a coffee and a walk , Love your camera work too, the only book I have read is ,the village of stepanchikovo which I have read twice . see you soon your biggest New Zealand fan. ps my wife loves watching your videos of Tokyo city, your doing a great job.
What a beautiful and relaxing vlog. Thank you for sharing! I have not read Dostoevsky in a very long time. I have read all of his works but it has been many years .
Hello, Tanya, glad you are back. I've read all of his big novels, Crime and Punishment, The Idiot, the Demons, The Adolescent and. of course, the Brothers Karamazov. But for some reason, I haven't read much of his shorter works. I try to, but I can't seem to get into them. I remember seeing an American film version of the Karamazov with Yul Bryner around the time I started reading Dostoevski. I'm not sure if it was before or after seeing that excellent film adaptation I started reading Dostoevski. I thought Karamazov would make a great play, and I thought of adapting the novel to the stage, but although I was ambitious, I was a bit afraid of biting off more than I could chew. :)I had the same feeling about Tolstoi''s War and Peace. So, I adapted Crime and Punishment and The Idiot which were more manageable in my view. I might have tried The Demons, but Albert Camus got there ahead of me, so I turned to the Adolescent instead. Some years later I found that a dramatist braver than myself had adapted Karamazov. It was in French, so I translated that. I've since discovered French stage adaptations of White Nights and the Gambler.
How interesting! I would never even thought that there were theatre adaptations of his 5 big novels! I only knew about movies. Can't even imagine War and Peace! But I'm sure they are epic! Also, it's such a cool job you have!
Good idea, i forget the time of her birthday, tanks for this action, and i of the people they very love her classical novels. And for you, i hope a good way in reading and too other part of life 🙏🙏
I loved everything about this video. I love rain. And the trees and gardens were beautiful. Nd I loved the two books I read from D.: Crime and Punishment and The Brothers K. I’m currently rereading the BK but very slowly. I want to take in every detail.
On 11.11 I went to a small unveiling of Dostoevsky 's book. A new translation of 'Underground Notes' has been published in my country. And I reread this amazing book.🤩
thanks so much for telling the story of how D.'s friends reacted to his manuscript and brought it to Belinsky; i loved it and i'm going to tell it to my own friend at once, even tho it's night-time. ~ i also like it much better when introductions focus on social, historical, and biographical background rather than interpretation. ~ Uncle's Dream sounds wonderful!! and not the kind of topic i'd expect from D. either but i can just imagine how he might tackle it, since there's a similar subplot in Demons. ~ your footage of Meiji Jingu made me nostalgic and a bit sad, and then bam your direct address to D. at the end really moved me so much hahah like Japan, his work means a lot to me.
What a fun idea for a vlog!🤗 Hope you'll feel inspired to do this for some other writer some day I'm glad you talked about Dostoyevsky's sense of humour, I reread Demons this year, and it's absolutely hysterical. Aside from all the gruesome murder stuff ;)
Only 'Crime and Punishment' even though you know what he was going to do within the first few pages and the deed is done around page 100 (in my version at least). I thought about what is going to occupy the next 500 pages. I needn't have worried, tremendous book.
Tatiana, Is Dostoyevsky's psychologic approach of Russian people, the contradiction with western culture and enlightment, present at Russian people today, specially at Russian people at rural arears? What is your opinion?
Have you read any of F. Dostoevsky's works? Did you enjoy them? 📚🤓

How cozy! Loved the autumnal city shots! I didn't read many of Dostoevsky's novels. But what I did, I definitely appreciated.

It was really fun how his friends received this novela 💕
I also thought so, and it felt so wholesome. No envy, pure support and love. I wish everyone had such friends!

Wow I can't believe he's two hundred. I wonder how he does it. No, just kidding. I did not know. What a special thought.
