THIS is London... Heir DW. Etc... I Heard This when I growing up.. at 2 00 in the morning//I would hide the Radio under the covers so My Mom would not see I am using it... Because I had to get up at 6.00 to Get ready for school... Funny ... Real Fun Memories

Yeah you are right about the burst lol, when I was a kid, I used to think someone was playing with the mixing control board faders somewhere in Paris lol
I remember recording on a tape in July 1983 a lovely summer and the lively French Latin American music Swiss Radio International and Woman to woman the signature tune of a lovely hymn Sing to the Lord who is coming to reign not seen such wonderful broadcasting days since
That is not exactly BBC's interval signal. It was played every top of the hour. The interval signal is played a bit before the broadcast begins. The BBC has two of these signals. This is the most traditional: th-cam.com/video/cuVAv0DNu-w/w-d-xo.html
Radio : "This is 'The Voice of America' broadcasting to the oppressed peoples of Eastern Europe!" Hancock: " I'd leave them alone, mate. They seem happy enough" (Tony Hancock 'The Radio Ham' 1961)
I got emotional after hearing these tunes almost after many years.
Same here. I miss this so much.
I wish they bring those stations back onto Short wave I miss them mind you the music nosedived since late 1987
My god, that DW signal takes me back. My dad listened to shortwave all the time, and that was a flashback to my childhood.

RFI's just had to be about the coolest call sign tune.
Memories of 80's thanks for sharing
I was a SW junkie from the early 70's forward... Good memories!!!
Great to hear these ! Many wonderful memories !
0:01 - BBC Radio
0:23 - Deutsche Welle (DW)
0:51 - Radio Vaticana (RV)
1:50 - Voice Of America (VOA)
2:37 - Radio France Internationale (RFI)
BBC Radio: Lilliburlero
DW: Fidelio by Beethoven
Vatican Radio: a Christian hymn (guess for yourself)
VOA: Yankee Doodle
RFI: La Marsellaise _remix_
Thanks for cueing it for me 😊😊👌🏽🙏🏾
@@dariqaa I'd prefer original La Marsellaise for RFI!

@Dariq Rahuman The christian hymn from Vatican Radio is "Christus Vincit"
I like the Vatican Radio, VOA, and RFI. They totally integrated their national identity with their interval signals.
No way anything beats the way RFI works up the few notes of La Marseillaise perfectly blended at the end.
Chef d'oeuvre!
Non its bbc
You're kidding, right? The rfi sounder is one of the worst! Amorphous, ambiguous, drifty/floaty/indistinct
You are right, the 80s/90s RFI interval is amazing.
@@I-Libertine sounder ?? Smeghead.
Wow! Suddenly it's the 1970s! Good to hear this again!
wow....wow... im now 37 years old ...i remembered the 90's thanx for this video
The BBC were mad to drop this from the World Service.
I miss these sounds very much
The French one is BEST!!!
sauli liensen My best is THE VOICE OF AMERICA.

I loved them all but RFI stood out! 😊
Wooow!!! Excellent job, my great friend of radio!
omg, these interval signals i haven't heard in near 24 years
48 years for me
come back to SWL, they're still there not sure for how long
Cпасибо за возможность прослушать позывные многих р/с всего мира: я люблю часто слушать р/передачи из разных стран!

DW y RFI son las más recordadas y son las mejores. Buenos recuerdos de la radio de Onda Corta.

thank you for this!!!
Wow, who did they hire to record RFI’s jingle, Daft Punk? Air? Jean-Michel Jarre?
Sounds like something kraftwerk would make
Sounds good still😊
Actually i may have read Jean Michel did compose it.
@@kraftwerklover69 ummmm no kw are krautz. Lol
The signal of VOA represent power
Thanks for uploading....
deutche welle signal was my favorite
Amazing video sharing 💕nice 🌷content 🌻thnks💐 for 🌿good 💐work 🌺
Very nice. Thank you.
RFI's callsign always sounds great no matter how bad or good the SW propagation was like, sometimes in the bursts it actually helps it sound louder! 👍
Yeah you are right about the burst lol, when I was a kid, I used to think someone was playing with the mixing control board faders somewhere in Paris lol
Radio Francia Internacional superó a todas.
Saludos desde México.
Tendres souvenirs d'enfance, y compris la radio rsa la Voix de l'afrique du sud....
Best is the french one
Used to pick up RFI on an AM/MW frequency, around 3:00 AM.
Wonderful

Ностальгируя, я часто слушал Ватиканское радио.
I like VOA!
Thanks (remember music from RFI at the end of every hour from 56 min)
DW is my favourite.
Radio Havana, NHK, Swiss mx box, DDR.
Please make an hour loop of the RFI interval. Ty mercy buckets
RFI has the best one in my opinion
There is a sad video of the implosion of the entire VOA antenna farm.
0:03 Lilliburlero by Henry Purcell. 0:23 Fidelio by Beethoven.
Oh yeah interesting, I didn't know. Thanks for sharing.
2:46 Jean-Michel Jarre
Désolé pour toi... mais la musique de RFI n’est pas de jean Michel jarre... sorry for you... the RFI music is not to jm jarre

DW signal is my favourite, they broadcast in Indonesian at 9 PM when I starting to go sleep.
Did anyone here get the full version of RFI interval signal? Thanks!
RFI IS A BOP
RFI has an outstanding tune, very relaxing one compared to DW or VoA. Yet these are beautiful, too.

Hancock: " I'd leave them alone, mate. They seem happy enough"
(Tony Hancock 'The Radio Ham' 1961)
this is a golden quote 😂😂
RFI's interval is fire
Person posts something cool like this but then has celine dion music on their channel. Lol
Lol you have a beef with Celine :-)
It's not believable that the French produced such a silly, irritating signal.
Greetings from México.

Yes, sounds fresh even today.
