I never heard their signal this well. I lived in Michigan and used to hear them coming in weakly on 31 meters. I used to use a Heathkit GR-64 and a 50 foot longwire.

Lived in Munich, at night the signal was clear as a bell, that must have been one powerful transmitter. Hallicrafter shortwave radio.
Brilliant! I started listening to Radio Peking around 1975. And received a whole lot of QSL cards and other things from them.
It was my favorite radio from 1970 to 1977.
