@@TrevonDawson I saw Dorothy in 1971 in the Netherlands. Live in concert. I even have taken her picture singing with Walter, Tramaine, Elaine, Shirley…. Everybody.
@@pacoflip1752 u may have saw her in 71 but was she with the Edwin Hawkins Singers then? Because the interview that I researched & archived for Edwin Hawkins before he died is from 1969 (I added the link to this thread)& that’s when she left. He never mentioned to me that she performed or toured with them after she left.
Wow! Not only a classic clip of The Edwin Hawkins Singers singing his world acclaimed crossover hit O HAPPY DAY but it looks like the original lead Dorothy Combs Morrison is singing too! Would love to know when and where this gem was recorded. Thanks for sharing! ♥️🎼🎶🎵🎹♥️

WOW!!! Look at Bishop Walter, Tramaine, Edwin when they were babies and their cousins Jeanne King and Shirley Miller who went on to take official lead on this particular song
I see in the comments that people are debating about the year of this appearance. Lady Tramaine looks to be wearing a wedding or engagement ring. She married Walter in 1971. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if this footage was indeed from 1971.
Love this clip! Especially seeing the original leader Dorothy Combs Morrison perform it... A fan of the Edwin Hawkins Singers for life!!!
Oh wow! Dorothy Morrison singing lead! Never seen her sing this live!
Thanks for writing her full name
Thank you! Beautiful!
This gives me chills!!!
Classic!!!
Wonderful.
This is fantastic. Never saw this footage. Dorothy Morrison toured with the Singers in 1971. Unforgettable. Thanks for this footage.
