      The exact comment I was looking for! I rode my Honda SP1 same way, slide bum over, one leg down, same height as you, but its handy to know you can do it on something a fair bit taller but narrower than a big sportsbike like i'm used to as my next bikes probably going to be an MX/enduro based supermoto.

    Also remember that setting the rider sag correctly helps. On most mx bikes the sag should be 30% of suspension travel or about 3.5 inches.

    Exactly right.
    I find not only is it based on your feet touching the ground but also your experience level.If your 6’3 a beginner and feet touch the ground on say a 250.That doesn’t mean you should jump up to a 450.
    So you could try to adjust the suspension settings on a 250 to fit or if you have the funds move up to a KTM,Gas Gas or Husqvarna 350 where the bike still handles like a 250 in the lower gears.That way you can still learn without killing yourself like you would on a 450.
    Dealerships never tell you this either.They just want to put you on the biggest bike cause it’s worth the most money for their sale and their not concerned about your safety.

    I noticed the shorter guys always fit better on Hondas because they sit lower, the 250s and 450s sit lower then other brands. I’m 6’1 so I fit comfortable on any 250 and 450

    I’m 15 and 5,5 roughly 110 pounds I’m a small guy but a can easily wrestle a 250 I’m not saying it’s cake but it’s not as hard as people think and if your smaller you can just use the power to your advantage. And if you Strattle the seat a bit (lean to one side) you can touch unless the bike you have is maxed out in seat height but you don’t see that often if your buying a used bike or one from factory.

    Im 16 and 5,4 and I ride a 125 2 stroke. Do I fit the bike perfectly? Absolutely not. But I can pretty comfortably get one foot down. Seeing as I ride MX anyway, Im not really having to put my feet down anyway. However, I would never recommend a short rider to a full sized bike without any experience at all. I came up from riding MX on trail bikes, to a kx100 and then to my 125. So if you are short without riding experience, start off with those beginner friendly bikes that you know you can flat foot and can control easily, like trail bikes or an 85. If you have years of experience and are ready to move up powerwise, I say go for it.
    Hope this helps anybody under like 5,6 lol :)

      Trust me man go get a 250. Im 15 5,5 and roughly 110 pounds and have been riding a 85 2 stroke for 2 years. I hopped on my buddy’s kx250f in a sand pit and the thing rips. I even tipped the bike over but easily picked it up and I’m not even that strong. And kicking the bikes over aren’t as hard as people think which I thought it was hard. The power is just amazing and I’m now selling my 85 for a 250 👍👍

    I’m 5,2 and just turned 14. I bought a 2018 crf250r i weigh 90 pounds. I’ also have a 2019 ktm 125. Although, I have been riding for 6 years. And yes I can touch on both bikes fine. If you are looking for a 250 for a 1st or 2nd bike... you are making a horrible mistake. Why? It’s got a hell of a lot of power. Your best alternative is a 125cc. So remember it’s not about if you can tough or not, it’s about can you handle the power. If you have any questions please ask them to me and I’ll answer them. Thanks.

      @@zaddylouis995 I had a crf125f a couple of years back, it was a phenomenal bike. Although it is a trail bike, meaning that it is for more beginners. Ok so you are looking into a 250. First, it depends on what kind of riding you are doing. For motocross and a little bit of woods here and there. It’ll be great. For riding in all woods; you will hate every part about a 250. And yes you are the perfect weight for a 250, still I would search for some 125s
      Idk your price range here for another bike. But you are for sure ready for a (big bike). So for you bro, it’s a 125 or a 250. Hope this helps.

      I owned a Kfx90 quad (yes Ik it’s small) for almost a year and I am very comfortable riding it. My cousin has a ‘19 Crf230f and I ride it a lot and I feel very comfortable on it. Should I get a 250? I am 15 and 5,7

    • @cwmotovlogs5929
      @cwmotovlogs5929 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wowieneed1360 it all depends on your experience in riding. My buddy lives 2 houses away from me and he has a 2017 Honda crf 230f. His bike is extremely heavy and lacks lots of power. -though it is a trail bike/ beginners bike. If I were you I would look into both 250s and 125s. But before going on marketplace simply find a small used dirt bike seller and ask if you could test ride both 125 and 250 and see which one your comfortable with. Or just go to a dirt bike dealership and find the right bike for you. Make sure to ask questions about a 250. And lastly do your own research, and find what you feel strongly about. Good luck brother. And yes you are big enough to ride a full size/big bike

      Well, you don't have much of a choice because there really aren't any bikes bigger than a full size motocross bike like this 250 or a 450. Seat heights are all about 37-38 inches. You would be ok on this bike. You can make adjustments to things like foot pegs, levers and handlebars to "stretch" the bike out a bit for you.
