No pitch correction. No auto-tune. He's really singing. Talent is one reason the 70's was so good.
Also, the drugs.
The 60s also. No autotune in 50s 60s or the 70s.
He was married to the same woman until he died. They were like school kids in love that whole time.
All those years she got to look at those eyes. So beautiful ❤
So Sad,,Lost my Husband 18 yrs ago…He was 53…GONE TO SOON😪

Thank you for putting this up before his death Geraldo.
BJ will always be missed.

...yes,your rain drops keep falling on my head,is immortal.....
RIP B.J. Thomas. Always loved this song 🤩💓
BJ is singing live, no gimmicks, no electronic help! Pitch perfect. Off hand I can't think of a singer today who can do this and sound so good. Pure talent standing on it's own. Excellent!
He is certainly not singing 'live' here; he is pantomiming to a recording.
@@philiphatfield5666 He is definitely singing live and NOT lip syncing. If lip syncing then he is the most accurate I have ever seen and I cannot detect it. If I can't detect it I am sure you can't so that means you are full of crap and don't know what you are talking about.
@@philiphatfield5666 you must be joking. He is singing live
@@philiphatfield5666 He adlibs a couple of times in the performance making it obviously a LIVE vocal.
BJ's amazing, and clearly he is singing live, but if you really can't think of _anyone_ today that can do this you need to get out more.
They don't make them like this man, anymore. RIP BJ. You are free of pain and performing for angels. Your music lives on.
Truth Indeed AMEN
Yes, among the angels, he is one!...gorgeous angel!💖
Hello Connie how are you doing today?
True
Why do so many men come here and act like it is some kind of singles bar?
Today Heaven received one of the greatest singers of all time. He is now rejoicing with the angels & his God. Thank you BJ for all the great songs. May God comfort his family and many friends in their sorrow.
That was beautiful. Thank you.
His legacy and his music will live forever. Love you BJ

I recalled this song about one month ago, very randomly, but I couldn't remember the name. I speak Spanish, so I was very sure about the lyrics. I remember his songs as part of the soundtrack of my family when I was a child. I always freaking love it!
In a time when singers could sing there's no talent today it's gone out the window
People back then who are the age you are now said the same thing. They probably said something about his hair and his sloppy clothes too. Think about it.
not true stephen...just harder to find...keep searching...
R I P BJ THOMAS
Yes now you don't need talent; space cadets are clueless. They don't know what talent is.😢
I think u mean in the toilet
RIP - another great voice of my childhood gone way to soon.....
I was in my first year at Kooringal High.
I met BJ years ago, what a great man. He was so kind, and answered my question about Elvis and smiled.
Awesome!
Great memories!
Love how what appears to be a mom with her daughters are enjoying listening to BJ perform at 1:55 while the crowd has no clue what they are witnessing.
I can't believe those women are just sitting there like...ho hum....The show must have made them do that. If I was BJ I would have been offended.
@@angelapuckett4932 nah its just a 70s audience. Watch many skits from that era and its the same. The crowd just let the performers do their thing
it's called "listening". try it sometime, you might hear something.
They were mesmerized. Don’t know what’s prettier, BJ or his voice……both smooth
@@angelapuckett4932 Yeah,. I woulda been standing & singing along! Haha!

I was fourteen years old in 1974. I can remember singing along to this song, and thinking about my crush. It made my heart sing. It still brings back the same feeling in my gut. Thanks B.J. , and rest in peace. You gave much more to people than you may have thought.
I was born in 1963 so I am younger but I remember listening to this tune on CKLW Radio 80 on the AM dial

Most certainly. Today our President was impeached. Absolutely unbelievable!
God sees all!

God bless the America
Let's get on a turn back the time train
Nope, live for the day! The 1970s were just as miserable as 2021 -- Vietnam, busing, Watergate, Assassination's, national apathy, race issues, inflation, pollution, decaying and dying cities, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and oil embargoes. Boomers lived through that awful decade and survived and we will survive 2021. Luckily, we had good tunes like this to make help survive.
@@rdhdnbay we all have to stay no choice i know about nam and the 70s no way
I would stay here in this weird world if I had a choice this world sucks 😕 more than ever 2000. 2021 sucks bad just my opinion
I am neither American nor an English speaking guy but I would say that this is how a male singer would sound like. He is an amazing singer.
Rest in eternal peace BJ Thomas, Godspeed.

Oh how I have Loved this handsome man and his soothing voice .He is so Loved and will be Forever Missed .My teen years with him to listen to was such a gift ! He will always be with me thru channels like this.Thank u so much .
55 years ago my first girlfriend sent me this record after I had to leave at age 14 and a half to move to Langley Virginia cuz my dad was in the Air Force. We were going to be married but has life has it sometimes she found someone else and married him. 25 years later she found me through people search and contacted my parents gave them her number. My mother gave it to me and I called her. We almost got back together but I wouldn't let it happen because she had a husband and had children and grandchildren and I told her that wasn't the same guys used to know and I was not going to split up her marriage and ruin her life. But every time I hear this song Lord I takes me back to those days I really loved her. She died four and a half years ago
What a bittersweet story and my condolences on her passing. I hope you found/find love again. thank you for sharing. 💗
You did the right thing.
This sounds very much like a chapter of my life. It has been many years ago just not quite as many. My Mike was from Virginia. Prayers for you & yours.
Sometimes I doubt that saying, “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” But in your case it sounds like it was the truth. 💖
Michael Goodman, Your Parents named you right. You are a good man. You have integrity, may God Bless You
Praying for him after his cancer diagnosis. Some of the only memories I have of my father when I was a kid. My dad would always be playing his music to me.
Praying for him also ! I always loved his raindrops are falling on my head ! People get up there now and scream into a Mike and call it music ! They have no idea !
May God bless BJ... He's given us so much...
We all loved his music- please wish him well thoughts from his on going fans!
I did not know about his cancer. Prayers for BJ. He has always been one of my favorites. His music takes me back to more carefree days and what a voice!
Hope he gets better. Love his voice and hair,!
He was so freaking good looking!
What a voice. Such a great loss. No auto tune, just pure talent. Such a voice.
Yep, when there is pure talent no need for any fakery to camoflouge the lack of talent.

Awesome talent. Not many voices sound that good.
The Lord blessed him - good looks and a voice from heaven. Glad he got sober and continued singing. Btw, I am very aware that he had cancer and died.
Not only that he received Christ as God and Saviour, gave up drugs and smoking, produced at least 4 Christian-based albums, returned to his wife, and many other goods things, he's the real deal, and even today is entertaining so many. Thank you, BJ.
