This is so awesome. Never seen such a precious moment in space. Lovely kitbashing, Crafsman!
Congrats on passing 1M!
@@Boylei I think we need an imaginary wild west/precious moments crossover.
5:26 “opinions are like dollar generals, everybody’s got like 2 or 3.” I almost spit my water out. 😂
The most Crafsman delivery of "idgaf"
@@hankd37 🤣💪💪💪
My husband says you are the Bob Ross of our generation (elder millennial). Awesome video!
That is so very kind! Please thank him, and thank you for watching and taking the time to write this!
I really like the hair being outside of the helmet. Gives them a kitschy retro-futurism vibe.
Thank you so much!
My Nana had so many of these, of all shapes and sizes. She even gave me a precious moments Bible when I was very young.
Since they were never worth as much as peoplehad hopes, it's good to see people giving new life to figures like this.
They are really neat figures! And I do like the sentiments on the ones I picked up (the "you can't take it with you" and the "Joy of the Lord") but it is sad that they sorta (as best I can tell) did similar to Beanie Babies - lots of people bought lots of them, of which there were MANY, and the value just isn't there.
For me it was buying all those Star Wars Power of the Force figures in the 90s. :/ LOL.
Thank you for watching!
I've never been a Precious Moments girl, but these have become *wondrous*! Thank you for keeping them to their original dimensions and not changing them completely. Adorkable!
Heyyy, thank you so much! :D
So much rust and beads you’re going to give Bill Making Stuff heart palpitations. And what an unexpected pleasure, we got to see you in the snow! I can’t believe it’s been eight years! I found you four or years ago looking for a technique to put pupils onto resin eyeballs. Then I went back and watched all of them, and get giddy whenever a new one drops. Thank you so much for all your creativity and the work you put in, but mostly your kindness and humor, which have gotten us through some rough times. Here’s to eighty more!
Thank you so much! :D The "beadorite" thing would *not* have even come up if it wasn't for ol' Bill! :D
I really appreciate your enthusiasm - so much.
This turned out great! Personally, I'd like to see them maybe more colorful space suits, but what you did was clean and super detailed! 16:23
Thank you! My wife agrees with you on this one too, by the way. I did feel they were "monochromatic" by the end, but I decided to lean into the softer, understated tones.
@@TheCrafsMan I like that you stuck with the Precious Moments palette.
At the beginning of the video, I honestly doubted it was possible to convert Precious Moments figurines into anything else...but Crafsman succeeded beyond expectations. The transmutation of the vibe from cutesy to space adventure is amazing.
Ah, thank you. I really appreciate this!
this is so good. Love that beadorite!
Thanks so much, buddy! If it wasn't for Bill Making Stuff, "beadorite" would not have been part of my backstory. ;)
Crafsman, you are a kitbash genius. Who would’ve thought of using precious figures…not me. Only thing I’d include is a “precious drone” to scout out there targets. Or maybe a nice “precious plasma rifle”
OH that woulda been cool! :D Could have it "hovering" on some clear plastic sprue material or something. Thank you for watching!
I was kind of hoping the banjo would become a space rifle of some sort, but these came out great
I was hoping for that too, or a space mining tool
Drill
It started out that they were all gonna be holding weapons (the piggy bank I thought might become a helmet, with him being the only one not wearing one) and they were going to be post-apocalyptic... but I found those two gachapons and it developed from there. :)
I’m always impressed with how precise you are with clay, Crafsman. It’s always fun and interesting to see someone’s creative process; watching them make decisions that never came to mind and how the results are way better and different than what you had imagined.
That’s probably why my favorite videos you’ve posted involve character design. It’s reassuring to see someone else go through pages and pages of ideas and details and actually end up with something good. Knowing these things take time, thought, and effort can help some of us keep going when we’re trying to create something.
Thank you for watching! And I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to write this - it means a lot to me to read it.
Thank you sir! You never disappoint!
So glad to read this! Thank you!
9:37 was glorious. Glad you took a minute to enjoy the snow ❄️
:D So glad you enjoyed it!
I could listen to Crafsman talk all day. These look great. The bederite looked amazing!
Very kind, Dana! Thank you for watching!
Legit one of my fave builds and videos you have done, so much fun to see them come together and the end results were super satisfying. Loved the music too, also wasnt ready for crafsman eating the falling snow, genuine LOL moment 🤣🤣🤣 king! 🏆🏆🏆
MANNN, you're too kind! I appreciate this so much - betta believe it!
(Glad you liked that snow bit, LOL! :D)
the old video with creative ideas of creative stuff with ordinary things or using none crafty objects are always fun
I appreciate that feedback!
Seeing the Precious Moments figure with the banjo made me think of a channel called Space Banjo. They make ambient chill wave, that's like space western sounds
Oh snap, I think I came across that when looking up the banjo music for "Outer Wilds"! Nice!
Lookie here...i was just thinking bout crafsman yesterday and boom...my feed delivers. Sweet.
HEYYYYYYYYYY! :D Thank you so much!
Thank you for also taking us along on your delightful, snowy walk.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, always blown away by your work, love it! Would love to see you 3D sculpt and print your own figures! I would suggest Nomad Sculpt on the iPad, super simple to pick up and learn!
Thank you for watching, and for the suggestion! I like Nomad3D! :D Not super adept at it yet but been really inspired by Theo / Slimehouse and Dan Does.
These are delightful and adorable! I hope Altered Moments becomes the next art trend!
Thank you so much for watching!
These moments were precious.
Ha! Thank you!
@@TheCrafsMan I used to live an hour south of the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, MO. You improved those thrift store finds.
Your creativity is mind-blowing!! Every time your video drops, I get so excited!
Hey homie! Thank you SO MUCH!
My husband and I just watched this and love it. He said it was a great call to keep the ponytail on the girl showing. Keeps them endearing! I altered some Precious Moments last year (Lucy Bride from Dracula, Baby Groot, etc.) It's a fun hobby!
Thank y'all so much for watching!
LOVE the little claymation dude you made! Best "subscribe" dooh-hickey ever!
That's my buddy Nate Hacker who made that - talented young man! :D
Fantastic as usual! I think it would have been cute to add an alien or two. 😁 But it came out great!
Thank you so much!
Ah i always love watching Stearaftin xD
Thank you for watching - I truly appreciate it!
😂 this brought back memories! My sis & i had a babysitter that had a room full of these.
If we breathed on them she would freak out 😂😂
Great Job on the conversions!!!
Oh snap! :D Bet that's a temptation for a kid - the figures are so cool and there are SO MANY of them. Thanks for watching!
Love it when you kitbash! You’re so good at it and always come up with something super-fun and creative! These are great. I usually can’t stand Precious Moments, but you made these awesome. That base was killer.
Thank you! :D
I hesitate to go the kitbash route often due to my indecisiveness. :)
A day this man comes to teach and craft, is a day better than any other. Thank you, Crafsman.
Wow - very very high comment - undeserving. Thank you SO MUCH for watching, and taking time to encourage!
The camera work has evolved so much since I first started watching years ago! Every time I see your videos I remember my favourite bagel shop. I’ve moved since but good memories from the old 1980s toy showcase :)
I really really appreciate that.
Awesome, now thats classic Crafsman right there, lovely to see some kitbashing
Thank you SO MUCH!
GREAT KITBASH, BUT CRAFSMAN BEING OUT IN THE SNOW WEARING A JACKET IS THE CUTEST THING EVER
New thing to do? Some of the old ideas? Sure! Love some re-do on classic TCM (even if just 3 vid-o's ago). Maybe some more advanced-than-chicken wood carving? Shop tour with emphasis on why things are where & how that affects use (or vice versa). Airbrushing (try a t-shirt art scene?).
Hope y'all did ok in snow. Stayed warm & safe, i hope! Plus hope its all gone for you now. We had more ice than anything.
Thank you for watching, and for the feedback! The snow was actually wonderful. :D
Everything about this project and video gives me life ♡
And the marauder with the techbook and cute hair reminds me of Penny from Inspector Gadget!
Much love and gratitude, Crafsman! 🤘🧡✨️
Thank you SO MUCH for the encouraging words!
That turned out awesome, everything including the backstory and concept. I think it is "precious" and so creative. I wouldn't have thought of that.
Thank you so much for that!
*YES!! Crafsman and breakfast!* 💙
Crafsman and bed time for me 😆
Hope y'all enjoy all aspects of breakfast and bedtime! Thanks so much for watching.
LOVE a kitbash day! Thanks, Crafsman!
Ayeeeee! Thanks, buddy!
This build was inspired, Crafsman! Fantastic work, and, thank you for sharing it with us!
I really appreciate that!
Crafsman? Kitbashing? Nothing better
Thank you my friend!
Excellent video. Loved it!
DANNY BOIIIIIIIIIII! Thanks so much, my friend. Really appreciate you.
I love that you kept their faces! I'm not a fan of Precious Memories, but I think it looks pretty cute all together!
Thank you so much! It was tempting to just cut the bulky parts away but I sometimes *need* those challenges (or "constraints") so that I have to stay on course, without opening up TOO many options. :)
Always fun to watch you work.
Really appreciate you WATCHING it! Thank you!
❤ love it, very well done!
My one consideration for another precious moment bash would be to flatten out the whole color palette. Like precious moments is all fadingpastel very consistently in every scene they ever did.
While I love the meteorite shine ✨ (and the backstory) Make the whole thing shine in different metallic shades to flatten the total pallet. Or make the whole pallet rusty and dusty, or keep it in the original pastel precious moments pallet.
Perhaps if this project all had an environmental dust or rust tying the characters to the set and meteorites together the bold pallet juxtaposition wouldn’t bug me so. 🤷♂️ (hope that wasn’t too harsh)
❤ If I saw this at my local St.Vinny’s I would buy it for sure, it is a really good and creative piece.
Thank you for watching, and for the feedback! I know what you're saying about the muted color palette. That would have been an extra nice challenge to adhere to. I guess since those clear plastic/shiny visors "clicked" for me it let me use the chrome later. But no - don't hesitate about feedback esp. when it's constructive like this - I like the honesty. Thank you!
Love it!!
Thank you for watching!
Good Ol Bob, come through.
Ha - not me, but thank you so much. Too kind!
Nothing to improve, it's just what we love your channel for, God bless
Very kind - thank you for hanging with me!
@@TheCrafsMan and thank you back!🙏
I found myself smiling with joy and awe as I watched your video. Just love what you are doing and how you present it. its like a delicious meal. Would love to see some revists from past projects. Thankyou for all your efforts. You make me very happy
I really appreciate this so much!
Back to kitbashing is a wonderful time in this strange, cold months. Love this, Crafsman!
:D Gotta kitbash every now and then. Thank you for watching!
Originally found your channel while looking into small scale injection molding and would be interested in seeing more, but honestly I'd watch anything you made. Keep it up, Crafsman!
Hey, thank you for that! You're not the first to ask about injection molding very recently so I'll keep that in mind. (May be getting some glow pellets to try in the future... might be fun. Also got some new DIY mold ideas to show y'all.) Thank you for the feedback!
»Groucho Marx « Hehehe! 👐😆 You always crack me up CrafsMan!
;) Glad you enjoyed, my friend.
@TheCrafsMan Always Sir, Always ( ◜‿◝ )♡
Dude! Where have you been all my life?! I think I'm in LOVE!! 🖖🐢
Are you new to Crafsman? He's just the best, isn't he? I've put together a whole playlist of him for relaxing sleeping.
I really appreciate this kind comment. THANK YOU for checking out my videos. I hope you hang with us!
@@travisshallenberger9486 Thank you so much, homie!
Excellent Kit Bashing! I really like the Base building montage I like how you flew through it and didn’t say what you’re doing, but really just showed it. Super cool build! Thanks, Crafsman God bless
Thank you for watching, and for that specific comment. I never know for sure if I need to do more TALKING or more MONTAGES. My personal preference would be to go ALL-in on music and visuals with no narration. :)
@@TheCrafsMan No narration would be something new and probably really cool! (I’d like to see a video like that) But your voiceover is really good. I know either way you do it, It will be awesome.
I'll always tell you that it's your channel and I love everything you've ever put here for us to see. Wouldn't mind revisiting old material at all. This kitbash is something else. Sculpting on top of ceramic figures? Amazing. You stuck to the style of these creepy little things so well, too. Love it Crafsman.
CATBOX!!!!! Thank you my friend. I really appreciate you.
@@TheCrafsMan Oh my gosh, I needed this so much right now, it's good to hear from you, Crafsman 🥰
awesome build :D
Thank you for watching!
Crafman. You've definitely stepped up your production quality. The thumbnail alone wowed me. ❤
I really really appreciate the positive feedback! It motivates me.
Why can’t I have multiple like buttons that I can press whenever I want throughout the video?
Thank you Craftsman for everything you do.
Too kind - thank you SO MUCH!
Yeah. TH-cam could put a reaction emojis option on uploaded content like we can do on live streams! (Though the algorithm might drive creators even harder with those stats available 😢)
Scratchbuild, kitbash, trashbash, yes..❤
Thank you for the feedback!!!
Never thought a Precious Moment could look cool!!! Awesome 🤩
Thank you!
@ you are welcome 🤗
Precious Moments were everywhere in the 80's and 90's in the christian community. They are so treacly sweet they are just begging for ironic transformation. I make my own epoxy sculpt using 2 part liquid epoxy glue and some kind of powder : cornstarch, clay, chalk, flour, etc. It can be very economical.
I screamed with joy when I saw my Precious Moments/Xenomorphs early in this video. I've been a devoted watcher of your videos for years.
Great work, Crafsman! I've been a follower and supporter of the channel for a number of years now. I always love your humor, and thought process since you're such a unique voice on TH-cam. I'd love to see more of you just working on whatever you find interesting and fulfilling. However, I do really like Beadbots, kitbashing, and when you talk about your Star Trek figures. ;)
Thanks so much, buddy! (I LOL'd at Star Trek - we need to bring them up again soon, huh? :D) Glad you enjoy what I do, and grateful for you being here.
I'm sorry, but this is hands down the best Maker channel on TH-cam. I love it every time.
Crafsman really helped me get through the death of my father a little over a year ago. I am going through some tough times again and seeing this video made me realize how much you have helped me without you even knowing. Thank you brother.
I really love watching your kit bashing episodes! They turned out great, and I love your backstory!
I sincerely appreciate that!
Agreed, I immediately thought, this is the perfect intro for a collab with Bill & the gang lol (Beeeads)
It’s been a minute. I really appreciate your work ethic, it makes me want to continue projects that I am not sure how I will complete them. But I know if I just keep chipping away, it will be worth it. I especially appreciate showing your mistakes, and how you reacted to them.
It does make me glad to read that. Honestly *EVERY* build (especially a kitbash or scratch-build) is a challenge for me.
If it wasn't for the video, I bet MOST of these projects would never have gotten finished. I really mean that. It's like a deadline at school - you'll turn in the diorama because you HAVE TO.
But if it was me at the kitchen table left to my pile of parts and OCD... I'd still be there. :)
I hope this encourages you to push forward, because you ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY ABSOLUTELY can! :D
Cutting plastic. Now, if I might make a suggestion. I have pistol a Soldering iron that I attached a wire cutter onto. Like a Styrofoam cutter, but mini. Sweet new tool.
That sounds SMOOTH, Uncle Phil!
Maybe set a little fume extractor by it, you reckon? That sounds like something to try.
I adored every part of this video. Live that you had a story for the mined material.
Thank you so much! Honestly I feel like "backstory" and lore stuff would be boring for y'all, so it's neat to hear some comments otherwise.
@TheCrafsMan I think it helps bring it to life.
❤I love everything you do❤ thank you for all that you do ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
🎉 don't think i didn't notice that alien from mac and me
;) Glad someone did! (P.S. It was almost "Trumpy" from "Pod People", made popular by MST3K but I found a better quality copy of Mac, LOL.)
Spectacularly inspired.. Love your work.. you inspire.
Thomas, thank you very much!
This was such a cool kitbash! Love your work Crafsman!
AYEEEEE! Thank you!
Thank you very much for not turning them into monsters for space aliens! And thank you for caring about the figurines themselves
You're welcome! Thank you so much for watching!
I love your crafs so much, Crafsman! It's always a good day when you put out a new video. This was a great project and I love how the figures turned out. Truly a masterpiece!
This one was so awesome!!! Came out perfect!
Aww, thank you so much!
I laughed at every pronunciation of gachapon you came up with! 😂 You’re a treasure! They turned out amazing!
:D Thank you so much for watching!
Great job Crafsman! Who knew those old granny tchotchkes could be transformed into something so groovy.
:D Thanks, buddy! (Also, had airbrush issues so used rattle-cans this time. Ugh. I'm gonna quit trying to run acrylics through that thing and just stick with VW!)
It would be awesome to see what you've learned and what tech has changed on older projects. These marauders could use some red uniforms!
Red woulda looked cool honestly! :D Thank you for watching!
And there are some past projects I bet we could do waaay better. :)
@TheCrafsMan I used to live in NOLA, it's good to get a little gumbo speak treat over content I like. 😎
Of all Crafsman’s videos, kitbashes are my favorites. 😊 There’s something magical in seeing unrelated bits and pieces come together into something quirky and new. Great work, Crafsman!
Hey Craftsman!.. no matter what video you come out with.. just keep on with the music montages.. We really love it!! Appreciate all you do bro!!
I seriously appreciate that! (If I could totally get away with it, it would be JUST music and visuals. ;) )
Epic. Absolutely Epic. Great job. Thanks for the video Crafsman.
Thank you!!!
I’m a sucker for a space suit! ❤❤❤ Eight years?!? Really? Wow! I would love to see you revisit the wood transfer video or maybe combine a couple of old videos like the wood transfer and the cold casting?
Thanks so much, my friend! And yeah... it only feels like a few years. Goes quick.
The pony tail coming out of the helmet is really cute and gives it a lot of character
Glad you liked that!
Titan AE is such an underrated movie, it's one of my favourites! Loved the video, you always inspire me to make!
Glad someone else likes it too! I'm a fan of Don Bluth's *style* overall. Secret of Nimh is one of my favorites. :)
@TheCrafsMan yes!!! All his film's are epic! Secret of Nimh is amazing too! Rock a Doodle is also a favourite.
One of your best. We love it, especially the little back story.
Thank you! Really glad to hear feedback on backstory stuff because I don't do that often. :)
@ ~ The little back story extends your creativity and really helps paint the overall story. And it was very entertaining and enjoyable!
Your mining idea came out great! When I first saw the three figures you had picked, my mind went straight to building them into a 3-piece band. Building a bass guitar onto the girl and building out a little drum kit on the other one. I don't usually get ideas like that, so thank you for some motivation! I would love to see some more needle felting. That was one of my favorite videos. I always wondered if I could make articulated felted figures, but a lot of life got in the way, and I never got around to even try needle felting.
Oh snap, honestly a BAND would have been cool!!!!!
And we STILL coulda put them in a space suit - LOL!
Genuinely could have been fun! Thank you for watching!
I love how precious it turned out. Precious mineral meroders. 😊
Thank you for watching! And that woulda been cool, adding "Mineral" to it! :D
I love those you turned these figures into something unique and still adorable, and without even removing any of the original material! Your imagination and creativity is always inspiring...
I do really appreciate that. Definitely had some sinking feelings throughout the process, like I might have worked myself into a corner.
But truly I do hope it shows that you can really really do this if you want to. Thank you for watching!
you are one of the first crafter/ basher channels I ever subbed to, tremendous thanks for giving the tremendous support to boylei which they deserve, I always feel like a kid in a candy store when ye upload!
I sincerely appreciate this! And yeah, ol' Boylei is a MACHINE. Great example of what layin-with-it-steady-producing-weekly-videos will get you. ...and it doesn't hurt to be ATE UP with talent like that young man is. :)
Great job! I get unreasonably happy when your videos drop! Thank you for what you do!
This made me smile big - thank you so so much!
Love your imagination! That always blows me away and keeps me always excited for your videos. Useful tricks and tips! Always learn something new every time. Love you Crafsman
Long time watcher/subscriber!
Thank you for watching!
Oh my gosh, they are the coolest lil cuties!! ^.^ soo happy she got to keep her high ponytail coming out her helmet. Everything is incredible, only thing that'd make it cooler is lights in the helmets. Also, the satisfaction of seeing random pieces fit together perfectly soo many times in this one video 🥴
Thank you for watching! Really glad you liked the ponytail bit and all!
I was so excited when I saw this vid! Kitabshing thrift finds. What an awesome video. I wish there was more in the thrift store, though. I feel like Crafsman is a master thrifter.
:D Glad you checked it out! I was talking to someone else about how they (sadly) became somewhat ubiquitous/plentiful. I had some friends biiiiiig into the Beanie Baby craze and I think they now have a stockpile of mostly low-value stuffies. :/
YES CRAFSMAN! It's always a mental and emotional relief any time you post a new video. Thanks for bringing us along on this banger of a build! Also, I loved your space ore lore!
Thank you so much!
Somewhere there's a precious moments "investor" type collector who has steam shooting out of their ears right about now...
And that thought makes me smile.
Oh no! Ha! Well... hopefully not. It's sad to think of the value not really being there like people thought it would be.
(Was telling someone else it reminds me of Beanie Babies. Or in my case... those (now worthless) Power of the Force figures. LOL.)
What a great idea for a kitbash. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you for watching!
How did I forget how much I loved Crafsman? Great video. Got lots of laughs and smiles from me
Thank you so much for checking it out!
Hey Crafsman 😊
Great video, you did a really good job of those 👍😁
Keep up the great work 👍😁
HEY BUDDY! Thank you so much! P.S. Still wanna do a silicone puppet based on your video. Hope you're still staying creative!
@TheCrafsman Go for it, that would be awesome to see 😊
Yeah I’m always at it😁
Been mostly making furniture for customers lately. But got some nice projects coming up 😊
