    The Arp is amazing, it can be triggered how ever you want, regular clock, irregular trigger sequences, and add some delay, beautiful!

    What a powerful little module indeed, and love your expansion of using it with the ADDAC modules. Fine stuff as ever!

      Yeah be totally free with it by using another quantiser. Much more fun to keep things musically rather than stepping between chromatic notes when you go major/minor etc.

    Nice. This was the 2hp module I was least interested in. I think you've changed my mind.

    And with this video, the last 2hp in one rack is filled. 🤘🤓🤘That patch at the send is so simple and totally killer. Those subtle drums added so much. I would have loved to hear a ghosted reverse cymbal hidden in there as well. But, i digress. Thanks for another awesome video.

      Yeah that would have been good. I need to get one in a sample player.

    Using a shift register like the CGS734 theoretically you should also be able to store the arpege and play a chord.
    A manual gate could trigger a burst of at least 3 triggers to the 2hp Arp which would be stored to the ASR. The same manual gate would also trigger a slow attack enveloppe for a nice pad!

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's a great way to work. Using the 2HP Pluck, or Rings, or Elements (freeze the verb with a high voltage and knob up full) you could get a held tone too.

    Planning on experimenting with the 2hp ARP and three S/H modules
    and a clocked switch to scan into the S/H's inputs to modulate chords
    into Chainsaw for background washes.
    Looking to the future...
    Which do you think is the most versitile or usable quantizer,
    the ADDAC207 or Instruo’s Harmonaig ?
    Other multi-output (polyphonic?) devices ?

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is the sort of patch I love!
      I've been playing with the new Tenderfoot quad quantiser and that's been great. Give that a look.
      Harmonaig is fantastic, but it's single input (then 4 intervals on the outs). So if you're wanting to hold multiple values from multiple sources you want a multi-input quantiser.
      The Shakmat Bard Quartet (I think that's the name) looks good too but I haven't tried that one.
      I like doing this sort of thing with RND STEP. I sample 3 values and quantise those, different trigger patterns change the triggering of the voices. But on RND STEP the unipolar out is always random (not sampled from the input) so I use that for tonal change. Holding voltages I sample from patterns/sequences etc but with a new random say filter setting per note.

    A bit late to the party I know, but do you recall what you were using to generate the random triggers? Or what would you suggest?

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Boyd, can't remember to be honest. But random triggers ... I use my RND STEP module a lot. It produces CV and not triggers but you can use stepped CV on a trig/gate/clock input and just clock the source (trig in on RND STEP) with your main clock signal.
      Alternatives are actual random gate generating modules. Look for anything that has a probability control. Pamela's Workout new and pro variants have random skipping, lots of digital sequencers have it too. What do you sequence with?
      I also made a probability skipper out of an LFO and a DPW Zero 2 module in a video last year which was fun.

    Thanks for the video. Am i right, that you can extract the arp notes to midi via cv/root out, to get it into a daw for example? Thanks for answering.

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, cheers for the comment. You can use modules to take control voltages and turn those into MIDI notes. One thing to bare in mind is that with voltages the pitch and the gate elements are separate with MIDI they are one thing.
      A MIDI note has a note on and note off (the duration of the note) and the pitch value (velocity and other bits too but we can forget those for now). Think of it like a key press on a keyboard, you press a certain key (pitch) and hold it as long as you want (note on at start, note off as you lift your finger off).
      In modular, with control voltages pitch is just a held pitch, it's not attached to a gate to make a note start or end. That really is a wonderful thing for sequencing and playing with patterns. But for MIDI conversion you'll need a gate (the note on and off) to make a note happen.
      With something like a Befaco VCMC or CV Thing (videos on both from me copied below) you plug in the pitch (1v/oct is the standard for pitch, so if you see that they mean pitch) and the gate and you can set those modules up to convert that to a MIDI note.
      I realise that might have generated more questions than answers but I hope it helps. Feel free to come back with more questions.

  • @gustavoelizondo2498

    you could even have two arps and have one at a slower rate modulating the root of the other and each one with different settings.
    BTW what is it sequencing in the beggining? It sounds great!

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you could, that would work really well. It's all the 2HP unit and each of those patches are just previews for what's to come. So those are explained in the video.

      You put a clock into the arp so it will follow at what speed you send into it.

      Sorry...around 5:40. It sounds like possibly Rings, but with a modulated filter?

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that's Tides into the WMD TRSHMSTR tight envelope to drive on the TRSH. So you get a nice little blip and pluck that changes quickly from driven to softer tones. If it wasn't Tides I remember it being a simple sound which is why I went for the drive in TRSHMSTR.
