Dark melodic techno live set on Akai Force

  • Hello techno, synth and groove box lovers!
    Welcome to my latest live set with my beloved Akai Force 3.1.2. In this live set I try to create a dark and eerie atmosphere by sampling Harry Potter movies and picking instruments that sound dark and evil. Even though this is a standalone set, I have created some of the synth melodies with my behringer model d and korg minilogue and saved them as audio loops in my set.
    Many of you liked the explanations in my last live set which is why I added subtitles for you again, so that you can easier understand what and why I am doing certain actions.
    Enjoy, like and subscribe!

    Great set Wolfgang, and the subtitles helped me understand what was going on. I am just getting into my Akai Force and not being a DJ, I wondered if it was possible to automate the tweaking, repeats, and changing scenes etc instead of doing it live as I keep getting lost and forget what I planned to do next. Any advice would be gratefully received 😎.

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Ray!
      You cannot program how often a scene gets repeated or which scene follows next, but you could record your order of scenes and repetitions into the Force arranger. However, then your performance possibilities are very limited.

    Yo brother, I just found your moves right now, that's looking and sound stunning man, I'm newby in akai force I just purchased it a few days ago 😀
    I could see you mixed smoothly between two tunes so it means you got more than one tunes opened in one project, When you perform all that tunes live, how you open all of them in one project? Thanks man, keep playing it's dope 👌

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanx man, there are some exciting days ahead of you getting to know the Force better. Feel free to check out my three big beatmaking tutorials and other performances.
      Here's how I work:
      I always open a project and within that project I create one track. After that I decide on a key for a new track that works well with my old track and arrange the clips in a way that allows me to transition between old elements of the previous and new elements of the upcoming track.
      I then save that project and as soon as I've got some time again, I open up that project and work on the next track. My biggest project consists of more than ten songs, that is 58 tracks (columns) and more than 120 scenes (lines). That's how I do it. If you want mix different projects you need a second Force.

    Great work my friend, that whole work flow and the amount that can be setup is mind boggling, lol
    Hopefully one day you could do a full tutorial on how you just did all that, I'm sure there are thousands of buddy musos out there that would live to learn something like you just performed, I personally would pay for that sort of information 😁

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Since it took me three weekends to create that set, it's pretty tough to cram it all in one tutorial. It would either be too long or if shortrned too superficial and not deep enough.
      However, my Force beatmaking tutorials cover a lot of the principles involved in this set. Check them out.

    Wow! Awesome set! May I ask you a question? Do you think there's a big difference between the akai force's drum synth and the roland tr8s? Do you think I have to buy the roland to have a good quality live set?

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Emilio!
      You don't need the tr-8s. The Force offers plenty of possibilities to create and perform drums if you use a mixture of drum synth and drum groups with samples. You have way more possibilities to create patterns and drum sounds on the Force. However, if you've too much money to spend and you want to have direct access to every drum sound for performance reasons, you could get one.

      Weniger Optionen als beim Push ist vielleicht gar nicht so schlecht.
      Hab das Talent Ableton immer ruck zuck mit zig verschiedenen VSTs vollzumüllen, da ist es eventuell gar nicht so verkehrt wenn ich von vorneherein etwas limitiert bin 😁
      Hab zuletzt mit meinem Yamaha Rm1x musiziert, da waren die Möglichkeiten noch weniger und hat trotzdem Spaß gemacht.

      @@wolfgang_grows Kurzes Update.
      Die Kiste kam doch schon heute und nach ca 2 1/2 Stunden war der erste Track fertig.
      Zwar relativ einfach gehalten aber ich bin jetzt schon begeistert.
      Unglaublich was mit der Force alles möglich ist, selbst den Track als WAV exportieren geht direkt in der Kiste.
      Hab heute gerade mal etwas an der Oberfläche gekratzt aber ich werde sicherlich noch viel Spaß damit haben.

  • @hesingshesobs
    @hesingshesobs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Interesting. I was wondering the best way to have multiple tracks blend into each other like a full dj deck. Ashame you have to put all the clips into one project. Would be nice if you could load two projects and crossfade them like a real dj kit.
    Guess if you wanted to spend money like that, you could get two Akai Forces but seems a bit excessive though it is probably good to have a backup anyway.

    • @wolfgang_grows

    Have you got all the knobs assigned to a specific effect for this 3 track piece? How would you deal with that moving on to 8-10 tracks?

    • @wolfgang_grows
      @wolfgang_grows  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanx. The knobs are assigned to individual tracks, submix channels and effects. You can assign several effect parameters to one knob and you can switch to different knob pages. I've also made a Force set with more than ten tracks, which you can find on my channel.

    • @wolfgang_grows
