In 1968 the "Balalaika Ensemble" was hired by the russian singer Ivan Rebroff . Serge plays with him for twenty years now. he went on tour with Ivan Rebroff all over the world and most in the time in very famous theaters like: Carnegie Hall Royal Albert Hall... He recorded the one and only disk of Yul Brinner and many CDs for artists coming from gipsy world such as Aliocha Dimitrievitch. He was the owner of a parisian cabaret "La Roue Fleurie" from 1985 to 1990 where artists like Raphael Fays, Angelo Debarre, were currently performing. As a Romanian I am pleased to see this amazing interpretation with Hungarian musicians. They took it and added their own style which I like. First time I hear a Romanian Folk song with a guitar player. Great talent 👍
Baldi Olier a făcut o primul. Caut o pe TH-cam
Pls post link
I saw these guys back in the Eighties with Rebroff they were Magnificent to say the least absolutely stunning they received the loudest applause 👏 of the evening and rightfully so 😊
Wonderful My ancestors were from Hungary and a great uncle played violin in the Detroit Symphony he learned by ear but had to learn to read music to play in the symphony which was very hard. He loved to play gypsy music on the violin by ear.
violin guy is an master the guitar guy is an master .. this is called masters at work .. 👑 👑 ❤ 🙏

can't find him.What a pity, such a talented musician.
Hard to find if you don't remember his name
I met Serge Camps in Paris in 1990 and we became friends. His father was Spanish and his mother was Russian. He grew up in the Russian environment in the Emigré community in Paris. He is a lovely and humble, unassuming man.
What else could be more beautifull than a Hungarian Romani playing Romanian Skylark on 1st of December?! ;-)
Impresionante!!
охренеть! вот это дуэт виртуозов!
Got shivers up my spine on the guitar solo. Both wonderful. And im hard to please
i love the way they smile ! and the music is just amazing !great talent !
Quelle cadence !!! superbe jeu ...
da,da,da cornele de la sunet- ataca- resspect
Oliver Steiner coments Enescu, a musical genius was a great influence on Yehudi Menuhin. Menuhin writes about him with great admiration, and one can hear the Enescu influence in Menuhin's playing. This performance by Enescu is a favorite for me, as it exemplifies and inspires pouring one's whole heart into the violin.

@Romanisipunctum So that is a Romanian horas called Ciocarlia ! I know it should be mentioned but unfortunately I couldn't find any information about anywhere. Thank a lot for letting me know. Brazilian greeting from Okinawa.
Superb!
ivan rebrof- RIP - respect master
This are a number Romanian very famous traditional horas and the Ciocarlia being performed here.
It should be mentioned as such in the title and presentation of the video (i.e. Romanian traditional tunes).
It's a good rendition of these virtuoso pieces.
Wow, amazing performance
Grandma used to boast about having Dziga (spelling?) the gypsy play at her wedding, and maybe an anniversary that I may have attended. The years go by and my memory isn't what it was!
It was her 50th anniversary - in pics i barely came up to her waist. She taught me how to polka then, and later Czardas. I was so enthusiastic that she had to sit for a while to catch her breath.
:) They are very good !! I LOVE IT
Prekrasno, virtouzno, strasno😍😍😍
Felicitari (Romanian traditional horas)
BRAVO ...BRAVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello, so what he wanted to say is that these are traditional romanian tunes, and that these are mixed in with with the Ciocarlia, which is a song composed by George Enescu, actually the song actually means skylark which is a bird and here you can see the interpretation which actually resembles the sounds the bird makes, this is why this musical piece is famous and hard to play, you have to make the sounds of the bird come through that imstrument: watch?v=W5FOuI-jQpc
wow this is insane...
This music seems to have European Romani influences along with Greek and Balkan. I really like it!
Romanian soul 100%!
Virtuoso!!!
wow ROMANIAAAA!!!!
Hora Martisorului :)
@SophyaAgain Thank you for being so receptive to my comments and God Bless!
This not Ciocarlia, it is Hora Martisorului. See Ion Voicu Hora Martisorului.
Sensacional, maravilhoso...
Check out Ciocarlia by George Enescu!
Thanks SophyaAgain - ROMÂNIA
!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an amazing talent! Anybody know what happened to Josef Szalai? Can't seem to find him on any other internet search.
I've been asking the same question since I "discovered" him. But I couldn't find anything about him on the internet either. I guess he went back to his folk, got married, had children and grandchildren. By now he must be in his early 50s... I imagine him playing to his folk and telling them about his adventure in Australia with Rebroff . . .
huuugggeee generalisation, but I feel that most Romanis are born with a violin in their hand....
In other hand - cup of vine
@@oeai Tuica (traditional drink) not wine.

Mindig boldog órákat mutat hungarian's songs? First part is Hora Mărțișorului composed by a roumanian muzician Grigoraș Dinicu and the second part is Ciocârlia composed by another romanian muzician, Anghelus Dinicu, also included in Romanian Rapsody composed by George Enescu.
