Nice work by Madison Teddy, Amy Schneiderhan, and Mike Edwards in putting together a terrific walk down memory lane. No small undertaking. Good luck with the HGTV Town Takeover contest. Whether win or lose the video will be appreciated by all who see it.
Ahh good old Charles Briggs school (at 3:50) I went there K-5 lived 2 blocks east last street in town had all the woods a kid could want to build forts wreck hornets nests hunt etc. played road hockey all the time skated at Laurium ice rink snowmobiled sledded down big hill rode bikes played baseball kickball had lots of candy stores a perfect place for a young Finnlander to spend his childhood
Sure looks peaceful under the snow. I've been to Marquette, but not to Houghton and points north. I'll have to check this town out the next time around.
It’s idyllic, that’s for sure. Is it practical? How long would it take an ambulance to get to your home in the case of an emergency. It’s fascinating to observe and maybe to visit for a while, but how realistic is it to live there. It really does exude peace and safety, however. I think that it would be rather barren and would require a stone like mental constitution to survive. Having said that, though, it is kind of alluring in a romantic sort of way.
Such a beautiful place. Almost heaven to most

What a lovely little town ❤️
I was here one time back in 1981, I need to go back at least one more time.
Two Yoopers walked out a bar.------- No really it could happen

The snow is a nice touch. The UP in July is always full of surprise!
Traveling to the UP is on my bucket list☺
We used to go dancing there on the weekends, when I was stationed at the radar site.
Hello Lauriam, Up until this moment, I never heard of you.
I live in Boston and want to visit here. Great town
Sweet, but too short.
I need to see about an hour more of this town.
Would live there in a minute.

Outstanding! Thank you~!
Being here is nice
Any inside rock or mineral hunting tips from this area?
A bit like that other place in Michigan, but smaller, and less homicide.
Keweenaw looks like it would be pronounced Kuh-wee-naw, but I notice that locals pronounce it Key-wih-naw. Wonder how this came about?
Be careful with gentrification.
