This was fantastic from Julia! I loved her song choice for her. She ate that up and crushed it! One of my top 2 favorite performances from her so far. I had chills all over! I loved that! She showed a lot of dynamics and emotions on this song.

A lot of you don't know that these performers don't pick their songs in these competitions. They're given a short list of songs to choose from and they often have to choose the lesser of the available evils.
Win or not, she's a star & can sing anything. J Hudd didn't win either, but look at her now!

This was a very adventurous song choice. Fun, but not playing to Julia's strengths. Badly edited, too. I think Julia is a great talent with tremendous potential, but she's still working out who she is as an artist.

What was that? Bad song choice, yelling, no coordination. Judges were struggling to find something to say, so they chose to whitewash her in bs hoping not to discourage her. But, sometimes it's better to be honest, or she won't improve.

I must admit that I really didn't like that song, it felt a bit all over the place and it didn't seem to fit Julia very well either. It's too bad, because I do feel like she has the most powerful vocals of the top 7 and since I'm not into country I kind of feel that the whole competition this year is becoming more and more boring every episode because of who has to leave the competition and who is left behind.
Omg. I love Julia, but I clutched out halfway through the performance. It's the song. And the vibe of the song. Not her wheelhouse. And certainly not in my wheelhouse as a watcher and listener. Total misfit between song and performer. Pity.

Hey Julia, I thought you were easily top 3 because you should and deserve to have been. Unfortunately we both learned it is a popularity contest. The girl who is Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter is riding that advantage to the top. I heard her sing her grandmother’s song and I am not trying to be mean, clearly she is a really sweet girl, but she does not come close to the talent her grandmother was. They should have let you sing a Loretta Lyn song out of fairness. i know Micaela who did not make the top 10 and she is easily better than 6 of the top 10 and between you and her one of you should have won it. They didn’t show Micaela’s performance because they knew it would make people angry she didn’t make the top 10. I am sorry you did not win the popularity contest. Because that is 100% what it is. Shame on you Judges for not standing up for what is right. I quit when you were kicked off. Ali should easily win.

Im sorry but that song choice was a bad one. She was flat in several areas and lots of singers can suddenly do the loud and drawn out notes. For all the praise Im reading about how good she is, Im sorry I haven't been too impressed when I have heard her. She has a good voice but I don't think its that unique or spectacular.
As if Idol voters care if she was flat (assuming she was). They prefer male singers, country singers, singers who do not take risks. Prediction: Emmy Russell is the next to go. Then, either Abi (though the show will try hard to prop her up) or Jack Blocker. Winner: Will Moselely. Runner up: Tristan.

I actually think this is a great song choice for a belter like Julia, but it was a terrible vocal arrangement and the wrong vocal approach. They shoulve cut the awkward head voice opening and started with the guitar intro that comes right after. She also could've added some nasal brightness and playfulness to her sound. The advice to add movement was also a mistake because this song takes focus and breath control.
This show is also extremely guilty of using the entire band just because they're there. Every project doesn't require the entire toolbox.
She executed terribly, she was off all the way through it, she constantly over sings and has been overrated the entire season...time to go back to reality, you're not a pop star.
