Great idea for a video, variety and nostalgia all in one. Getting an old Thrash Metal album is like getting an old friend coming back in to your life after a long absence.

It's all just been good timing I think. It's a buyers market in the UK now. Every week there are stacks of this stuff hitting eBay. I think I'd have had a tougher time getting stuff a few years ago.

Cool idea for a series! I slowly replace the few reissues I have in the collection with OGs, sometimes the prices are a pain in the a**! I sorted out "Frolic..." and put it in the "for sale" pile but it felt so wrong, then I put it back where it belongs, hahaha.... You either have none of them or all three, you´re right sir! I even kept the live album but it sucks, hahaha....

I agree that if you're buying albums that old you need to lower your expectations regarding condition. When you're lucky enough to get one that's really good, then it's a bonus. I'm interested to see what other gems you show 🤘
Congrats on those first pressings, some good deals youve had there, Like yourself I have been chasing down first pressings of classic thrash, where possible and my thrash collection is heavily weighted in the past with not that many newer bands. Some of the old records are so hard to find. I dont mind the odd reissue especially if its been done by High Roller Records, but I have to agree with your turn of phrase, it doesn't quite scratch the itch! Yes I'd sooner have an OG in average condition than a reissue (for thrash anyway). I have a video planned of the thrash reissues I've been forced to get through so you might like that one.

Hi Mike!!! cool idea for a series and i can undestand your thoughts about those early pressing and why you have them now in your collection. if can afford and it's not to expensive getting an OG from back in the day is the best thing, but with prices nowaday i will never have a issue with reissues or Cd's..... right now i don't own any of those records you showed, unfortunately some are tough to get though, congrats on that Znowhite OG, to me it's a lost gem from the thrash days. cheers
I did get the reissue of Keepers 1, only because my copy is battered. It would not make your grade, but its an O.G. But if Walls of Jericho is re-issued, i'm happy with my Korean O.G copy, it plays fine. However like yourself the top 3-6 records i loved from my youth, i want a decent copy condition wise. For the last two years now I've been doing the same thing. I've been going back and buying some older albums I didn't have. So I haven't been buying many new releases in 2022 and 2023. Unless it was from a group that I've been really into or felt the album was a really great release. Very good video Mike take care my friend.🤘🍺
Great video. The Ultra Violence is a phenomenal album, given that the band were still teenagers when they recorded it. Yeah, that Act of God album cover is dire but the music is fantastic (bought it for thirty quid over a year ago. Paid yhe same amount for Nuclear Assault's Survive album).
Some great albums here. I was never a huge Death Angel fan. I have Frolic and Act III on vinyl, the first three in a cd box set and a couple from when they reformed. Frolic is the only one I listen to if I'm in the mood, which isn't very often. I own all the Sacred Reich vinyls. Ignorance is my 2nd favourite Thrash debut ever, blown awa you don't rate it. Maybe it'd sound better on older ears? Be interesting seeing more in this series. Great stuff Mike.

@@thegrimmfluencer I put SR - Ignorance on again but it's the vocals that kill it off for me I think they're shit at high speed and the solos are neither nowt nor summat. No my thoughts haven't changed mate lol. I doubt yours will have on Act 3 either.

Ah well, it is what it is! I was planni g getting Act III on today, I was caught up re-listening to stuff for the Black Metal stream, so it'll be a change in pace from blat beats, Satan and misery if nowt else haha!

Killer OGs you have hunted down and added to your collection. I understand the reasons for people to just buy reissues etc but I would rather buy less OGs for the money especially as my collection is getting large now. As long as the vinyl itself is VG+ I’m fine with covers and sleeves being less than that. I’m pretty sure that the OG King Diamond Conspiracy I found a couple of years ago was in fact the same exact copy I owned as a teenager. Would love to know if you snagged some great cheap deals on any of these 🤘
I'd love that to happen getting an old one back but I honestly wouldn't have as my way of knowing. I'll make sure I throw out the prices on all the next batches. I've got a few videos like this I can plug away on. I must admit I'm the same opinion. I'd rather have less ogs than more reissues. 🤘
Dog eared, ringwear, seam splits, scuffs and scrapes, but enough about you let's talk about the records. Nothing wrong with well loved records, and nothing beats classic 80s thrash metal on vinyl. Made up you found a copy of Znowhite, I know you've been after that for a while. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
I have shit loads of original cds cause I bought em at the time. if I missed any, reissues do me. And since I only got back into vinyl a few years ago, reissues are fine - I'm not a first press wanker lol. I have those Death Angel orig cds, and got a few reisues on vinyl. Still need Ultra Violence reissue on white vinyl
You buy alsorts tho. I don't so I liked the idea of collecting these. Some I got on reissue tho which il show in a video because I wasn't prepared to pay the OG price. I'm not totally mental lol
Where is your favourite band list top ten? I find your videos hard to navigate. The 2022 Megadeth record is outstanding 'We'll Be Back'' is a riff dream! More Megadeth content would be appreciated.

Ha I got that live one in a big stack I bought in about 2016 but I sold it on. They didn't even know about it themselves I don't think.

Excellent idea for a series. ZnöWhite were a great band for sure. While I really like 'Ignorance', I much prefer 'The American Way'.

I love Metal but hate death, doom and black Metal.
