    So refreshing to see a couples travelling channel that's not about showing off, cheesey & arrogance.
    Normal & genuine.
    Keep up the good work

      Cheers mate! usually just try to keep it simple really.. plus we are kind of an introvert couple so definitely not gonna be any over exaggerated reactions from us lol I follow a few solo male vloggers that keep it real and simple but you are right that many couples seem to always go down the path of exaggerating, I wonder why?!

    Thanks, you two. This has been an interesting tour through Sri Lanka. I was curious about how it would compare to India. My sense from watching this set of videos is that it is cleaner (in terms of trash) and less polluted. The water seems clearer. The streets are less chaotic than the large cities in India. Beaches less crowded. On the other hand, India is more varied and has a wealth of pre-colonial history and architecture that Sri Lanka (as well as most other countries) can't come close to matching. In general, India seems more visually rich. As a photographer, it's hard to beat but if I preferred chilling next to the ocean then Sri Lanka might be the better choice. I'm really looking forward to Myanmar.

    • @JumpingPlaces
      @JumpingPlaces  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah i thought sri lanka was kind of similar to kerala and goa in terms of being less crowded and full of nature. The water is definitely more beautiful and transparent in the southern coast of sri lanka compared to Goa but i liked the less developed beach hut vibe more that Goa has... Depends what you are into i guess. India is huge so obviously it has more diversity like deserts, himalayas.. epic islamic buildings e.t.c Both amazing places really :D Sri Lanka is definitely a more easier country to travel in though for sure.. It is quite a lot more expensive than india though overall, especially the entry fees they charge foreigners

    I truly enjoyed your Sri Lanka Series. Thanks for your effort. Now I'm looking forward to your future vlogs of Myanmar. Guess you probably will visit Pagan with all the pagodas and maybe Inle lake, famous for the feet rowing. In the old days for Myanmar (the country was still called Burma at that time) one could only get a 7 days visa. Bagpackers on a tight budget would take along triple 5 cigarettes and a bottle of whiskey for sale on the black market. The gain of the sale would cover most of the cost for the trip. Safe and happy travelling. :-)

    • @JumpingPlaces
      @JumpingPlaces  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah heading to Bagan tomorrow, right now we are at inle lake and before we were in hpa an and yangon.. Trying to catch up on the videos as I am a bit behind haha

      @@JumpingPlaces I hope you are enjoying Myanmar. Pagan must be a marvelous place with loads of beautiful pagodas. I hope you are having a good time in exploring some of it as it seems to be a very widespread area and there is a lot to see and to do. Take your time and never mind if you are a bit behind. Enjoying your travel without stress should go first. I don't have any knowledge in producing vlogs but I know the editing of the videos is very time consuming. Have a great time :-) Very best wishes for both of you.

    • @JumpingPlaces
      @JumpingPlaces  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah we usually spend 3 days in each place and i usually only film one of those 3 days and the other days just relax a bit. It does take quite a long time i would say about 6 hours on average if you include all the exporting and uploading and all that. You are right that Myanmar is extremely widespread... already been on some looooong bus rides lol

      @martin36959 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JumpingPlaces Hope your bump hasn't got very sore. lol. I recall a bus ride on a local bus in India. During the first 3 hours i couldn't sit down as it was packed full of people, chicken and so on. The bus wasn't high enough to stand upright. I was soooo grateful when eventually i could sit down on a sack of rice. Thanks a lot for your work. It is very much appreciated :-))

    Here’s a couple of legit questions: 1. Re the GoPro, I just got one for Christmas, the 7 cuz Gabriel has tried the 8 and thought the 7 was better - u vlogger dudes really give your cameras workouts I’m sure - what extra precautions do u take? - I want to get a special cushioned case for mine that my belt goes thru (what I have for my Canon). How long did yours last? 2. Do u guys ever meet other couples that u might hang with, have dinner with, even travel with for a little while? I once ‘double dated’ with another couple we met in Cozumel - they were Texans on their honeymoon and I guess after a couple of days they’d already had enough ‘alone time’, ha. It depends, sometimes u meet other people traveling, sometimes u don’t. If u 2 are always together, just u 2, it’s like couples who live & work together (I only have known a few and they had kids) and it seems like U’d Really have to be muy compatico - muy muy! On our vacays my wife likes to sleep & shop more & I like to explore & walk/hike so we split up at times, then get back together after 2-3 hours, etc. You can’t do that in every country or city though as you’ve experienced .... we generally have not been in places where my wife would be unsafe alone .....3. Final question - the song in the middle sounded like Loveshadow (British group) who Gabriel once used (perfectly) on one of his Hawaii videos .... hope u enjoy Myanmar.

      hey mate!
      1. I had the 7 for about 7 months but then water got inside in portugal, that used to be my main vlogging camera. I had the 6 as a backup but its not good to vlog on because the sound quality is poor and the stabilization isnt so good so i would only use it for the water scenes. Since portugal i had been using my cannon g7x mark 2 the whole time which was my first ever vlogging camera. In sri lanka my 6 also broke the same way with water finally leaking in which left me with no action cam all together this time. Do you have the video where gabe mentions that he prefers the 7? Curious to know why.
      I bought the 8 and have filmed about 4 vlogs with it but yet to edit them so i will have to see how it is.
      2. I think we only hung out properly with a couple once in gokarna but it was the day after i had already filmed a vlog there so they never appeared in the videos. Normally since we always stay in home stays we dont meet too many other people. In Goa we met and hung out with quite a lot of people especially at night but i would usually not film any of it, in general i usually never shoot much at night.
      3. The song i used was from epidemic sound which is a site that you pay a monthly fee for and in return have thousands of copyright free songs.

    • @BillKing3456
      @BillKing3456 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Chris - let me go back and see where Gabe mentioned his preference for the 7 after trying the 8 - pretty sure it had to do with stabilization - and I’ll post the link in a comment on your next video. He also, as u know, has used GoPro’s for underwater shots a lot but I’ve never heard him complain about the leaking. He’s sent different ones back though for I don’t know if it’s the same reason and gotten replacements. For us non-vloggers most of us never think about camera care, the need for backups and such ... but I want to do a little vlogging in the future while not quitting my day job Ha ;)

      @JumpingPlaces  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha go for it! takes a lot of learning at first even just finding it normal to speak to a camera but it gets easier :D I am curious as to what his issues are with it, I also hit him up on instagram so gonna see what his final verdict on it is. Surprisingly he does always reply after a while, not sure how as he must be getting thousands of messages and comments everyday lol

    Which do you recommend for booking rooms. Agoda or Air BnB?

    • @JumpingPlaces
      @JumpingPlaces  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We always use airbnb but that is because we get some free credit when people sign up using the airbnb link in the description of our videos. Although even before starting the channel I did already use Airbnb a lot anyway, it’s good because to be on Airbnb they usually have to supply towels and toilet paper e.t.c, I think it is part of their contract with Airbnb. We only used agoda a few times and people tell me it’s the cheapest option for Asia
