I never knew Force Push stacked Combat Multipliers off of corpses I'll have to try that out later. That's what I love about the first Fable, I've played through it dozens if not over a hundred times throughout my life and still learning more about it each time.
Assassin Rush is super useful. It transports you behind an enemy so you can attack them from behind where they can't block. It's also great for avoiding attacks.
Most of the spells I used were just because they were fun and for variety. Physical shield, multi-strike, berserk, assassin rush, and multi-arrow are probably enough to steamroll the entire game.
@@ethosterros9430 Personally I liked Fable 3 more than Fable 2. Fable 2 had the nostalgic feeling of being a sequel to the first, which is my favorite, but the third game felt like it perfected some of those mechanics and I genuinely appreciated what they did with the game even if the majority of people think it's subpar. Fable TLC (pre-anniversary) is still my favorite game to play, Anniversary did a damn good job of keeping the aesthetic of the game and the feel of it but it doesn't quite match the original Xbox version. I can't wait for the new one because it's a new studio, new hero, new storyline, new everything. It might be bad, it might be good, right now my gut is telling me it's going to be bad because of the trend of bad games lately, not because it's a sequel. But the team behind the game has done some amazing work with Forza and Microsoft trusted them enough with the IP so they must have impressed someone. Whether they will impress the fan base is a completely different story. Fable one was great, Fable 2 took on that and expanded it and Fable 3 basically just perfected the mechanics of Fable 2 and changed the experience system. This Fable could potentially be it's own brand new thing, separate but still a part of the Fable game series. Bioshock Infinite springs to mind. I hated the idea of that game but when it was released I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the game. I'm hoping they can do the same here. Even though it's different, hopefully it will be better than the games before it. Bioshock 1 and 2 were great but the story of Infinite made the experience just that much better for me.
@@TheRamijuan I remember being like 10 or 11 and getting Fable with my first Xbox. I thought the game was boring and annoying so I didn't play it. I go over to my friend's house who just bought TLC and I'm watching him play and I see how much fun the game actually is and I got super excited to get home and finally play the game. I didn't put it down for months. I owned two games, Fable and Halo and I played Fable more than Halo. I remember hearing a rumor at school about how you can get the sword from the very beginning you just have to buy summon and assassin's rush and that was it. I, of course, thought it was just playground rumors like the truck in Pokemon Yellow or naked Lara Croft. A few months ago a video popped up about glitches within Fable and sure enough it's a real thing. I was told about it when I was 11, I didn't believe it until I was 29...
I found Assassin Rush to be useful at lower levels; it lets you get to an enemies back, and when you attack from the back, you can get a lot more hits in before they turn around and block or counter-attack due to the stun-lock animation. Thats pretty useful when you dont have the dmg you get later on between stronger weapons+Berserk+multi hit
Assassin rush is really good for actual combat, it not only provides a few invincibility frames but always prefers to put you behind the target, very good for fighting human enemies, of course most everyone is always gonne be running physical shield but it gets boring to me so I like to take it off and use assassin rush, blocking in this game is pretty tricky but perhaps skill issue 😳
I agree with the tier list for the most part, however I want to just touch on a little technique/exploit in regards to Lightning you may or may not know about You can switch between multiple targets to get even more cost effective/value out of it, let me elaborate since if you just hold down the spell and never switching targets it has a set damage ticking time but switching between targets rapidly it resets this damage tick timer It's a neat technique/exploit trick that can turn your basic Lightning spell into something quite deadly for clearing out groups of enemies quickly This ofc becomes even stronger the higher level your Lightning Spell is, hope you found this info useful You've earned yourself a Sub
Some details ... The greatest damage can be caused by the sword + multi-hit + berserk and hail + bow bundles. Sometimes it is more than 2000-3000 hp. But only for one goal. Pure combat magic often attacks several enemies at once, but the damage for each is usually no higher than 1000 hp. Therefore, it is more profitable to use pure magic against ordinary enemies. Of which there are many, but they have no more than 2000 hp. And against rare but especially strong ones, it is more profitable to use hail, multi-hit and berserk. The fireball directly kills only one enemy. The rest are struck by a shock wave and experience is not given for them. A hail of arrows can be repelled by bosses. Berserk or frozen time action is interrupted during scenes. The damage from most combat magic is different for different enemies. Sometimes it is raised, sometimes it is lowered. And only the wrath of the underworld / fury of the heavens will always cause permanent damage. Regardless of their protection. The Renegade does no damage but can bind an endless attack from enemies. For example, the dead in the cemetery.
Yeah one of my favorite things about infernal wrath is that it always does its max damage, which makes it superb for boss fights, especially ones that have anti-attack sequences
For me lightning is in S tier only because by switching targets constantly you can essentially lock multiple enemies in place while you drain their health, this way lightning even gets to deal damage more often to each individual target as it does it every time you lock onto someone rather than the second or so it takes for it to hit when you're just maintaining it. Great video btw! I love to see Fable getting some love even to this day.
Summon takes a knock for me for one reason only; the way "minion quality" works. I wish you had a separate menu or a scroll wheel based system where you can choose what minion you want to summon, and not have it based on what killed what. This is especially true of the white balverine which is arguably the strongest minion you can summon, but is, quality wise, flagged as worse than Jack's two minion bros, so you can potentially lose your mini boss companion if it kills a Jack minion and swaps.
True - I have always wanted to keep balverine as my pet but there is impossible because in late game minions are most common enemies. Nice option also would be possiblity to have 2 weaker summons - for example 2 classic balverines not white
Imagine being so confidently incorrect. Minions have good offense and defense as opposed to great offense and zero defense of white balverines. They can easily get stun locked by late game enemies and run the clock on your summon. Dreadwings are just more consistent.
Honestly, I would argue that enflame is the best spell in game. It's DPS is just insanely high, even when compared to other spells, like Infernal Wrath and Divine Fury. This is because I can cast Enflame like 7-10 times in the time it takes to cast Wrath/Fury even once, almost tripling or even quintupling the overall damage. Additionally, most enemies go down in 1-2 hits of Enflame, meaning its a much better use of my time. Even minions and higher health enemies still go down with Enflame castings faster than a single wrath/fury. The only downside to spamming enflame is the mana usage is really high. If you're worried about animation canceling (an upside of wrath/fury) just pair enflame with slow time and it won't matter.
animation cancelling has more to do with scripted boss fights than anything Slow time is nice, but also inherently makes the game and battles slower/take longer And casting it at the wrong time could mean having slow time active during a long animation, and making the animation drag out longer. Enflame is definitely better for DPS but being able to completely lock up certain enemies, and sometimes even skip invincibility frames/scripted animations, is still useful
An other tipp. If you are going to the north where the undead summons just before the prison tunnels, there is 4 undead and they are always respawn immediately. In half an hour, I made 1 million XP with maxed enflame 😅
@@PTMG I'm late but I came down to basically comment the same thing, bringing special attention to the point about being stuck in place for the Wrath/Fury animation. In my earliest magic-focused playthroughs, getting Wrath/Fury was my goal because it seemed like the best thing, but sitting through that lengthy animation every single time eventually turned from being empowering to being kind of a slog because of how many large groups of enemies you come across in the game. Once I discovered the power of enflame I ended up using it to trivialize 99% of the game while taking probably less than half the time to defeat all the enemies in an area as Wrath/Fury (this fact becoming most apparent to me in the arena. I've never cleared it so fast as with enflame). No need for stunlocks or slow time or defensive shields or anything like that when the whole room is dead in a couple seconds before they can really do anything. And a lot of the other spells are of course still very useful. I've played a build focused on around a bunch of them and had fun with it. But for pure power fantasy and dps, nothing beats enflame, it's the best one if you're a pure offensive spellcaster. The one exception is with the boss/strong enemy thing. It's been a good long while since I played but if there's one place where wrath/fury might be better, that could be it. I can't remember if I found it easier to spam enflame on bosses because my casting of Wrath/Fury would get interrupted, or if it was maybe the other way around or something. I also think it's a bit of awkward design to have a spell like Wrath/Fury that's clearly meant for large groups of enemies in an area but is actually outdone by a less prestigious spell like enflame on that front while actually being better for bosses, aka usually a single target situation. Nice video btw and love the game. I'm here after watching Erik McSwain's retrospective of Fable where he said you couldn't really be a pure caster in Fable. I had to make sure I wasn't crazy about remembering magic being very strong and a pure caster usable (that's a good video too, no hate!).
I feel when used properly Battle Charge gives you full control of the battlefield. Takes a little practice but it’s a very fun play style when nailed down.
You can freeze the world with berserk and assassin rush by rushing immediately in and out of a loading area. (i.e. Oakvale to Barrow Fields) Pretty cool glitch.
@@PTMG Could be. I did it on the original, hence me saying Idk about TLC or Anniversary. Still a fun glitch all the same! Thankfully, I got Anniversary now so I'll give it a test and reply with the answer.
that only worked on og fable. i did that glitch all the time because you could buy everyone houses without having to kill them but my friend who had tlc couldn't do it
I use assassin rush a ton in combination with multistrike. You can clear groups of enemies like hobbes way faster than multistrike and berserk. I also prefer the instantaneous effect of assassin rush over the charge up and charge down.
@@PTMG No, it just guarantees that you end up behind the enemy and within melee range. The distance you can cover at max level makes it very versatile. It also stops most enemies from being able to block.
The spells I would use, to cheese alignment mechanic, be it for doors, or just tons of exp, was the aoe spells you charge with big circle. Go to graveyard area, with some water and ruins, where undead constantly spawn. Use giant blue glowing aoe, reap the exp but also alignment points. Then use the red version on guards in the heroes guild on guards, a bit slower with exp, but good way to get quick alignment for evil.
There’s is one redeeming quality to Turncoat you might not know. If you are doing a good run and still want to buyout a town for renting, you can kill all the townsfolk without getting one evil point. All you do is pull out your weapon and wait till the guards yell at you three times to put your weapon away and put a 10 gold fine on you. The guards and the townsfolk will turn hostile. You can now Turncoat the guards. They will slaughter the town for you. Once you buy all the houses, shops, and barns just put away your weapon. Bounty goes away and no evil act committed because the guards killed everyone “randomly”. Otherwise, absolutely useless spell, but funny for this one reason.
Nice list man! You named some conditions that were interesting and made me think. I'd like to add 2 things to your analysis: 1: Battle charge is actually really good in combination with enflame, since you can cancel the time out frames of Battle charge with enflame, which is really handy, specially in will only speed runs. On top of that, it gets you in position for your next enflame. The knockdown of the enemies doesn't matter, they will receive damage from enflame none the less. Perhaps, with this knowledge, I'd say battle charge is A- class. 2: Assassin rush is definitly S-tier, id like to add though, is that it's especially good since if you spam it, it's very hard to get hit, makes it easier to hit others and if used right, i'd even go as far as to say that in some situations, its better than physical shield. Love watching your videos! Keep it up bro!
definitely developed a new love for assassin rush after my stick only playthrough lmfao. Gonna have to try out that battle charge thing tho I could see that being a good combo (If I remember correctly battle charge and enflame have the same damage but i may be wrong)
Another thing I used battle charge for was to skip the part where you sneak past the bandit guards. I just killed the 3 on duty and battle charged past the new ones walking in. Very useful
I actually really really like assassin rush especially with multiple enemies. I use it as a dodger and to get out of cornered situations and if your locked on, your thrown to the enemies back making hits 100 times easier
Yeah I could definitely see how for some fights it would come in handy, especially people like thunder or maze or whisper who essentially auto block every attack
I discovered something interesting about Divine Wrath and its twin spell. After you finish casting the spell, for the 6.5 seconds of its duration, ranged enemies (those that fire arrows or magic) outside the area of the spell stop attacking and just wait for you to finish. Even more interesting, if a projectile was launched at you before you finished casting the spell, but it reaches you after the spell is activated, it can’t hit you. It gets deflected.
That's wild somehow I never noticed that but it makes sense since yeah you never seem to take damage from anyone anymore once you are in the middle of the spell
I use assassin rush when fighting rock trolls. I get behind them and cast when they look for me, it keeps them from smashing the ground. Pairing it with multi strike, makes killing trolls easy.
I also like using multi arrow on the scorpion king, just steer clear of him and hold down the attack until you get a good shot, too it can not be blocked.
Ill have to try that on the trolls For the scorpion though, the reason why infernal/divine is nice, is that you can actually skip an entire dig-underground sequence if you time your attacks right and use slow time. You can time it so the infernal/divine pops off right before he starts to dig then it traps him for the duration of your attack. Depending on your timing with slow time, you can hit him a second time in a row after he was supposed to have dug under ground you have to be equally fast the next time he comes up though, because if you damage him below his second dig threshold health level, he will immediately dig down after re surfacing, so you have to catch him with your infernal/divine at just the right time
original fable had a fun glitch where you would activate berserk, then assassin rush through a zone door and then immediately run back through the door once the game is done loading. it froze all NPC's in place and kept you in a permanent berserk state.
I feel like Battlecharge deserve a B tier at least, it's especially good in 1v1 as you can knock down pretty much any opponent. When you fight multiple zombies, you can use that spell to destroy them in one charge. For Life Drain, it's at least C tier. As it was mention, the damage is low so not particularly good. You can still replenish your heal while damaging your opponent. Turncoat is the absolute thrash spell. It's long to cast, you can only target one foe and it's basically worthless. Slow Time is the SS tier cause it's by far the strongest magic in the game! Not only against enemies, but you can also use it to cheat during most of the pub Games! As a whole, it's a great list and a great video!
Love the video. Unsure if that already mentioned before then, or something new learn form today ago. Wen casting ether Divine Fury or Infernal Wrath, you take more damage form enemy's. If they are able to hit you during the charging time.
Like the videos man keep it up you should do a armour tier list for anniversary I just found some new armour on there yesterday I didn’t even know was in the game
@@PTMG I was thinking a mixture of both, I just found some of the DLC armour yesterday and it blew my mind 🤣 didn’t even know it was there and I’ve done 4 play throughs of anniversary kinda felt like a idiot 🤣🤣
@@PTMG haha I mean your not wrong there 🤣 but I was thinking armour rating wise haha just a suggestion not gonna tell you how to run your channel your doing a good job as is 👍🏻
Actually a really good suggestion, just sadly there aren't any pre made lists for it yet I might end up making some tier lists tho in the future so I might end up doing armor and weapons
Best game bringing back memories! Infraral wrath , slow time , multiarrow ,fireball ,battle charge ,multistrike , and summon( I tried my best to get a large balverine to my summon) are my favorites Slow time with multi arrows pack a punch Beserek with multistrike was good
Wish that fable 2 and 3 would have stuck with the same spell system as tlc/anniversary, it felt so good to have such variety and the effects were brilliant, 2 and 3 spells were boring in comparison
Multistrike is S tier because of a feature you either didn't know or forgot to talk about. It goes through enemy block. If there is an enemy that just keeps blocking, just use multistrike to bypass their block making the fight so much faster and allows you to stun lock them.
23:00 another reason to love slow time. You can cast slow time and physical shield at the same time and game won't notice that you've used physical shield. You can do a whole quest with physical shield on and still get the naked boast. :)
Another thing about lightning it should be S tier because when it does the animation where it decapitates a target as it does the animation if you flick to another mob it'll insta kill them too so when fighting guards bandits ect u can kill 10+ in a second
Honestly I thought you were gunna out lightning in C or B and I was happy you put it in A. Most enemy crowds are 5-6 max and lightning being able to disable 4 of those enemies and generate a TON of will exp is so good, especially early on
Well, i choose good playstyle at beginning, and Max all the good and neutral powers, then become evil to master the evil powers. For me, the powers are situational, For wasp queen, sword and lightining. For Orchard farm, battle charge For hobbe killing contest, battle charge with force push For trader escort, slow time For twinblade, assassin rush and multi strike/slow time because twin can only get hit in the back. Etc etc.. PS: I really didn't like the Enflame previously, instead used The FURY or WRATH. But now I feel like Enflame is really great spell. You can keep spamming Enflame and despatch enemies very quickly..
Bit late to the commenting game, but yeah, I agree with the Divine-Infernal spell. I'd put Slow Time in A or at least upper B as well. I personally found slow time otherwise useless besides the movement in the game leading up to the first (and originally final) battle with Jack of Blades in the Chamber of Fate hence why you could be slightly more critical of and put it in B and in some cases C depending on how one would feel, but I think it's really useful in the Lost Chapters/Anniversary portion where you have Avo's Tear or the Solus Greatsword (I never killed Theresa because I love continuity) especially with the Summoners and Jack of Blades dragon form as the damage those two swords do especially the latter in one hit makes the dragon fight a walk in the park. During the first 3/4 of the game let's be honest Divine Fury and Infernal Wrath is probably the best somewhat big attack, the only downside really is the charging up which it is advised to level up your health and maybe have physycial shield too, but I'd say those two attacks are definitely the goal to have when the situation demands it.
I'm kinda surprised it was not mentioned that Berserk grants you immortality while active - you can still be damaged and knocked back but you cannot die. You are also immune to damage recoil/flinches and your hits strike through blocking. This means it acts as a DPS multiplier, CC with the knockdown AND you cannot die while its active. For those reasons it was definitely my go-to in my first couple of playthroughs as a low-effort-to-value spell. (Also using Berserk bypasses the need for Physique lvl 3 to equip heavy weapons, so it can be a way to cheese that requirement). Since I learned that Physical Shield saves your combat multiplier when hit (god damn Hobgoblin Combat Multiplier Demon Door) and can turbo-charge your XP gains, it instantly became my #2 go-to spell. For my Magic play-through I went with Lightning as a top tier because its easy-to-access and you can spam click it to quickly apply damage and combat multipliers with relatively low mana drain. I did not know that Force Push could possibly fulfill the same purpose. But with Lightning you can very early in the game get as many mana potions as possible and head to the Gorge area that has guards patrolling through (infinitely spawning so no need to leave area and lose multiplier stacks) - this is the perfect place to continuously stack your combat multiplier AND get your max evil rep done within the first two hours of gameplay and net you so much Magic XP that you can level like 3-4 spells to rank 3. Personally I find it strange to put tech/glitch spells in S tier (Summon and Assassin Rush), but then again you said it was based on the number of play-throughs where you use it, so I guess that's the reason for their high placements.
I always forget that you can't die with berserk, but honestly, I usually forget this specifically because I pretty much never die in this game it's EXTREMELY hard to die in this game, especially when you consider resurrection phials If you need berserk to stop you from dying there are bigger things to worry about. I personally see invulnerability to knockdown to be far more important than "immortality" especially when physical shield already pretty much grants immortality, since you essentially have 2 full health bars with physical shield PLUS it stops knockdown AND stops you from losing multiplier. As an inverse to this, berserk annoyingly is specifically a knockdown spell. With berserk active, it is impossible not to knock down every enemy you fight, which can make fighting them actually take longer since you have to wait for them to get back up before you can hit them again Berserk definitely has it's place, and it's also one of my old time favorites, but there is also a lot wrong with berserk, and if I could fix some things about it I definitely would, particularly the knockdown effects in both regards. You should be invulnerable to knockdown in berserk, and it would be much more useful if it didn't knock down enemies. It would be the perfect spell if it followed these 2 conditions.
@@PTMG Just to be perfectly clear; the immortality from Berserk also prevents the use of Resurrection Phials, so it's basically an infinite Physical Shield with a timer (in regards to survivability). The good thing about that is that you don't need to worry too much about your mana (or health since you can't die). Usually in mob fights the knock-down of Berserk is less of an issue because there's just another mob nearby you can smack down. But your point is definitely valid. Also enemies cannot knock you down if you knock them down first - which is often quite easy with Berserk's speed boost. The enemies that you can't CC and does knock backs to you is mostly just trolls and bosses, where you often have to deal with their mechanic and attack patterns either way, unless you're grossly overleveled to the point where they can't really get through your Physical Shield or drain your ressources. But then again Fable is easy to enjoy being overpowered. I feel like if Berserk didn't have those kinks, it would just be a better Physical Shield for a majority of the time. I find it smart of the Dev team that both have their uses.
Beserk, multi hit, physical shield, force push, slow time. Physical shield is good for keeping your multiplier really high and not getting knocked down, if you got lots of mana potions you can put physical shield on, go beserk, and use multi strike inbetween hits while shielded beserk.
Goodmorning sir @plok, Have a nice day upon reading this..thank yoU for giving a chance to To be a part of your team ..hoping and waiting🙏🏻🙏🏻so that i can support the financial needs of my kids,,classes is waving..thank you much
I've never noticed until now, but when berserk, the red flaming effects are actually images of an angry face. Am I the only one who never noticed this?
The actual most broken spell is in fact Lightning... Surprised people aren't mentioning this in the comments. When casting and target locking an enemy, continuously swap targets as fast as you can and you'll instantly proc the damage over and over without the regular delay if you're just holding the spell. At that point you're essentially just using a better divine fury and infernal wrath, no other spells not even physical shield can compete as no enemy will ever be able to actually hit you aside from trolls and other bosses that don't get stunned. I don't know if this works with mouse and keyboard, I only use controller when playing fable anniversary to get the same vibes as I did playing the game all those years ago on the OG Xbox. Enjoy furiously flicking your analogue stick from side to side :)
Interesting, I'll have to try target hopping with it I usually have it maxed out so it target hops by itself, but yeah lightning is OP as hell. Not super high damage, but you can basically cast it forever without stopping. And if you have 7 mana augments (3 on bow, 4 on frying pan) you can literally cast it forever.
Slow time is crazy when maxed out. +S tier. Turncoat on the other hand is pointless as there are better spells available that have similar advantages (i.e. ghost blades) and there are few, if any, places where a player gets overwhelmed to a point where they would consider Turncoat as an option. I'd rank it Meme tier
Turncoat was a cool idea when they first made it probably Then they made a bunch of other cool spells that made it stupid idk That's the only explanation I can come up with for why they even added it at all lmfao
Nah, man. Assassin Rush is the best spell in the game on its own. Just the ability to teleport behind your opponent, hitting him and teleporting again when he turns around to face you is so much fun. I played as an extremely quick battle-mage who would teleport all across the battlefield while fighting. Back in the time I played with a fan-made translation that translated the Hero Name "Rune-Master" to "Runner-Master" and it suited my character a lot. It was even more fun when I unlocked both Assassin Rush and Slow Time lvl Max, I felt like Quick Silver himself.
Have you made one of these for fable 2? Just finished replaying the first one and I liked your input. Was curious if you had one for number two as well! Thanks
Very accurate tier list, I only wish summon could take advantage of TLC enemies and not just the jack minions. Also fireball can be really good for long distance killings.
Never even considered sniping with fireball lol as far as TLC enemies go, I think the only TLC enemies that aren't considered "boss" monsters (summoners for instance) are weaker than minions
Physical shield+Lynchfield graveyard+Will/Stamina/Strength potions=unlimited XP. I got a combat multiplier of 50+ consistently every playthrough in that one area. You can get enough XP to max out every single stat before you even save your mother just in one spot.
You can do this at the grey house too, as long as you have 3 renown or higher, 2 large summoner undead spawn there, and they will spawn unlimited undead for you makes this possible at basically any point in the game, but definitely before arena etc.
I don't know about PC but for console I prefer Battle Charge (for combat) over Assassin Rush. It's awkward on console IMO after using Assassin Rush because you end up going behind your target & have to lock on each time after or you teleport towards them if you're a bit too far instead of behind, or you teleport behind an enemy too far away. With Battle Charge it does decent/high damage that can outright kill an enemy depending on your build & it will always knock them down as well as push other enemies aside. It also brings you in striking range every time so it's a perfect gap closer, I usually pair it with Force Push.
I still feel like enflame does the same thing without changing your position I guess if you want a different/better position it would be helpful though
Awesome sir Plok. You never fail us. You always have a good video to share with. Always here to support you. Done watching sir. Hoping to be part of your growing team. Thank you.
Not that it matters but you can kind of use drain life and a sword strike simultaniously with the right technique, so that might improve its score slightly. Plus it might get better rating if you run a challenge run, like mine I do not allow any food items to heal, except the crunchy chicken
All spells in Fable are OP, some are just more OP than others. I disagree that Divine Fury and Infernal Wrath are better than inflame: Inflame is better simply because there is no cooldown time and mana is basically inexhaustible. One benefit you are missing regarding lighting is multiplier reservation: it is so instantaneous, long range, unable to miss, and can be used while you walk almost anywhere relative to your enemy that you can cross a map without losing multiplier if an enemy is in the middle of it, because you can hold down lightning as you traverse the distance.
enflame is definitely good, and better as far as damage goes But the ability infernal wrath and divine fury have, to damage enemies and keep them frame locked in a damage sequence when they otherwise shoudln't be, makes it a different level of spell in my book.
easiest way is to just start out as an evil character and unlock all the evil spells, then once you reach temple of avo just money glitch and donate hella money for good points to unlock the rest of the good spells
IMO, These are the top 5 1. Slow Time 2. Physical Shield 3. Multi-strike 4. Assassin's Rush 5. Berserk Honorable Mention: Multi-Arrow( This should actually be up there with Multi-Strike, Its the easiest way to beat Jack *BOTH* times. Skorms Bow + Max Skill + Multistrike
Never really liked assassin rush as a standalone skill all that much if you throw summon up there hell yes But yeah definitely multi arrow needs to be up there
Assassins rush also makes you invulnerable... I get busy when fighting trolls because you get up to a head on with your sure they go to ground pound yes ask and rush out yes that's when you rush back in you can beat them up a lot while they are still doing the animation
@PlokTheMasterGamer it combos so well with slow time. I even beat the hole game with nothing but slow time assassin rush and a heavenly Fury as my spells I used.
Whenever I play, I end up using Enflame as it has INSANE damage evasion... Your frames of "invulnerability" are almost unstable. Slow time, and you are op. ...just gotta break the economy and carry impossible amounts of mana potions.
@@PTMG yeah using the physical shield for the majority of the game is fine and all but you gotta get to that point where you have enough will to be able to use it, so it's definitely an easy early lifehack for the first 5-10% of your gameplay
Not a bad idea although I feel like a lot of the music is very thematically similar so rating it might be difficult, as they are all practically different versions of the same song
18:55 I disagree. While multistrike always gives you the bonus, in case of multiarrow, most of the arrows just miss the target. Yes, you get 6, arrows, but very often none of them reaches the target, becasue of this fancy animation.
true but as long as you account for your surrounding a bit, as well as the pathway to your target it usually works out well enough I typically reserve it for bosses, where you usually have a nice wide open space for it anyway
You had me up until you put lightning in A tier. The moment the video started I said to myself “lightning and physical shield-S tier”; because on a magic playthrough that spell makes you virtually untouchable if you use it correctly. It’s always my go to spell right up alongside physical shield
for me assasin rush is one of the best spell cause let you invulnerable for 1 sec after blink and you can keep your combat multiplier intact, i dont use phisical barrier cause some quest need you to no use armor in your boasting and that spell count as armor.S tier no matter what.
btw if you cast physical shield and slow time at the exact same time, the game won't register that you casted physical shield, and it will let you get away with using it, even with the no protection boast. I used that technique for the majority of my quest boast playthrough
Multi-arrow is a lot worse than multi hit because the arrows flew at a wider arc before hitting the enemies so many times they ended up hitting the scenery instead of the target dealing much less damage.
Only reason i say beserk was by far #1 in the original fable, sword of aeons was 550ish damage, had a health and a mana augment, and i think a third open slot (cant remember) But the earth troll outside knothole glade (only enemy left at the end of the game that didnt die in literally 1 or 2 hits with a 550 sword of aeons), if you beserked you could walk up to him and kill him in anywhere from 3 to 7 seconds just mashing x without multi strike. Back when i was a kid i didnt even bother using anything other than beserk, with the original sword of aeons it was all you needed, everything was 1 hit. Now that the solus greatsword is stronger than sword of aeons 🤣 multistrike is my new fav, and i use it with beserk if i wanna speed up what im doing. Physical shield is basically cheating if you got enough mana potions, which i got 9,999 legit as a kid, cheated them on my last playthrough a week ago though haha, it takes no mana when you arent being damaged, it stays on until you run out of mana, so if you keep an eye on your mile long mana bar and tap the dpad every time you drop to 20% you end up with basically infinite combat multiplier and you can use all your other spells like muliti hit with it and not worry about it draining your mana when you arent paying attention. Physical shield even will stay on during all the cutscenes, way op even for a speedrun, only used it in my last playthrough because im not a kid anymore and i dont got all day every day to play, and i never played lost chapters. Just beat aniverssary like 3 days ago for the first time, it was worth a play all these years later, but i expected 1 more town and a replayable arena type deal. 230 damage sword of aeons is whack though, especially when skorms bow is already way more op anyway.
yeah it's a shame that they made the sword of aeons less appealing, when literally the entire point of the sword was that it was the most powerful sword I think they only did it because in TLC theres obviously more quests and bosses after the first jack of blades fight, so it would be way too OP and would make the rest of the game fly by even faster than it already does
I never knew Force Push stacked Combat Multipliers off of corpses I'll have to try that out later. That's what I love about the first Fable, I've played through it dozens if not over a hundred times throughout my life and still learning more about it each time.
definitely useful for the combat multiplier demon door
Assassin Rush is super useful. It transports you behind an enemy so you can attack them from behind where they can't block. It's also great for avoiding attacks.
Most of the spells I used were just because they were fun and for variety.
Physical shield, multi-strike, berserk, assassin rush, and multi-arrow are probably enough to steamroll the entire game.
I can see what you mean by variety
It might be interesting to do a playthrough with only the "shit tier" spells
@@PTMGplaythroughs other than spell shield + enflame spam kek.
Awesome to see some people still making Fable content. Can’t wait for the new Fable game!
More to come!
I thought I was a scholar, then I found out you can assassin rush a summon to get sword of aeons early
Only problem is the trend is every new game is even worse than the last one
Yeah I can see that being helpful
enemy blocking in this game gets pretty annoying after a while
Well timed Lightning with Pelvic Thrust emote caused a lot of laughs growing up for my friends and I.
thrust em with the lightning rod
Assassin rush is really good for actual combat, it not only provides a few invincibility frames but always prefers to put you behind the target, very good for fighting human enemies, of course most everyone is always gonne be running physical shield but it gets boring to me so I like to take it off and use assassin rush, blocking in this game is pretty tricky but perhaps skill issue 😳
lol I don't know what's wrong with me but I never use any block button in any video game

Who is this? How did you get my number?

I agree with the tier list for the most part, however I want to just touch on a little technique/exploit in regards to Lightning you may or may not know about
You can switch between multiple targets to get even more cost effective/value out of it, let me elaborate
since if you just hold down the spell and never switching targets it has a set damage ticking time
but switching between targets rapidly it resets this damage tick timer
It's a neat technique/exploit trick that can turn your basic Lightning spell into something quite deadly for clearing out groups of enemies quickly
This ofc becomes even stronger the higher level your Lightning Spell is, hope you found this info useful
You've earned yourself a Sub
The renegade?
For me lightning is in S tier only because by switching targets constantly you can essentially lock multiple enemies in place while you drain their health, this way lightning even gets to deal damage more often to each individual target as it does it every time you lock onto someone rather than the second or so it takes for it to hit when you're just maintaining it. Great video btw! I love to see Fable getting some love even to this day.
lightning is actually kinda OP it kinda just stops enemies from fighting lol
@@PTMG played the arena with only casting lighting strike, no other spell and alot of manapotions. only the golems were able to hit me, like one time.
Yeah as a stand alone skill it leaves quite a bit to be desired for sure, but it's glitching potential is way too game changing to go un-noticed
True - I have always wanted to keep balverine as my pet but there is impossible because in late game minions are most common enemies. Nice option also would be possiblity to have 2 weaker summons - for example 2 classic balverines not white
@@williamblack1212 u can just not use the summon in those encounters, this is what I did
@@imonke5303 yeah ofc but later minions are the most common enemies
If you're worried about animation canceling (an upside of wrath/fury) just pair enflame with slow time and it won't matter.
animation cancelling has more to do with scripted boss fights than anything
Slow time is nice, but also inherently makes the game and battles slower/take longer
And casting it at the wrong time could mean having slow time active during a long animation, and making the animation drag out longer.
If you max out enflame it's a one time hit on high level enemies.
I mean you can buy mana potions in bulk for a couple of hundred and you can get like 50-100
@@PTMG I'm late but I came down to basically comment the same thing, bringing special attention to the point about being stuck in place for the Wrath/Fury animation.
Haven't tried TLC or Anniversary. But ik it works for the original.
weird i dunno if I ever heard of that one before
it might be one of those original game glitches like the shovel glitch
@@PTMG Could be. I did it on the original, hence me saying Idk about TLC or Anniversary. Still a fun glitch all the same! Thankfully, I got Anniversary now so I'll give it a test and reply with the answer.
Does not work on anniversary, sadly.
that only worked on og fable. i did that glitch all the time because you could buy everyone houses without having to kill them but my friend who had tlc couldn't do it
I use assassin rush a ton in combination with multistrike. You can clear groups of enemies like hobbes way faster than multistrike and berserk. I also prefer the instantaneous effect of assassin rush over the charge up and charge down.
wait does multi strike make the assassin rush strike multiple times?
@@PTMG No, it just guarantees that you end up behind the enemy and within melee range. The distance you can cover at max level makes it very versatile. It also stops most enemies from being able to block.
@@PTMG what makes it OFFICIAL or are you just an OFFICIAL Autism grand master level 5?
The spells I would use, to cheese alignment mechanic, be it for doors, or just tons of exp, was the aoe spells you charge with big circle.
Go to graveyard area, with some water and ruins, where undead constantly spawn. Use giant blue glowing aoe, reap the exp but also alignment points.
Then use the red version on guards in the heroes guild on guards, a bit slower with exp, but good way to get quick alignment for evil.
Stop Time + Berserk was my favorite combination. It was like being Dio Brando even before discovering Jojo
that plus multistrike you can do some insane damage
I played this game a really long time ago as a bay and am now playing it again 10+ years later thank you for this video
No problem
Otherwise, absolutely useless spell, but funny for this one reason.
yo that's pretty good I'll have to try that
@@PTMG Have fun! It’s the most hilariously “neutral” evil act I’ve ever found in a game
Nice list man! You named some conditions that were interesting and made me think. I'd like to add 2 things to your analysis:
1: Battle charge is actually really good in combination with enflame, since you can cancel the time out frames of Battle charge with enflame, which is really handy, specially in will only speed runs.
Very useful
Agree, yet as a potential Doctor Who in this universe mostly use Slow Time spell.
lol hero of oakvale is really Dr Who
Btw heal life also counts as a gold bribe or gift
lol that's weird I never knew that
So theoretically you can just heal people until they want to marry you?
@@PTMG Yep, it's pretty niche but it gets hearts the quickest.
Slow time is GOD MODE
especially once you max it out it's insanely OP
The best spell is the Force spell, since you can use it with emotes. You can let loose a fart so powerful it blows people away.
Ill have to try that on the trolls
For the scorpion though, the reason why infernal/divine is nice, is that you can actually skip an entire dig-underground sequence if you time your attacks right and use slow time. You can time it so the infernal/divine pops off right before he starts to dig then it traps him for the duration of your attack.
Depending on your timing with slow time, you can hit him a second time in a row after he was supposed to have dug under ground
you have to be equally fast the next time he comes up though, because if you damage him below his second dig threshold health level, he will immediately dig down after re surfacing, so you have to catch him with your infernal/divine at just the right time
I picked slow time for my first spell on my initial playthrough, been hooked ever since
yeah slow time makes the game a cake walk, especially paired with physical shield you are essentially impossible to kill
came here after watching the top 5 spells, and I was not disappointed
Glad to hear it :D
Physical shield with the exp potions later on is game breaking, I remember grinding the place with all the undead and then maxing out exp 😁
yeah super OP
original fable had a fun glitch where you would activate berserk, then assassin rush through a zone door and then immediately run back through the door once the game is done loading. it froze all NPC's in place and kept you in a permanent berserk state.
I thought I remembered it crashing the game or something but maybe that was a different berserk glitch
As a whole, it's a great list and a great video!
idk battlecharge is just an unwieldy version of enflame
Love the video. Unsure if that already mentioned before then, or something new learn form today ago. Wen casting ether Divine Fury or Infernal Wrath, you take more damage form enemy's. If they are able to hit you during the charging time.
Yeah true but usually you can tank them long enough to get the spell cast
Like the videos man keep it up you should do a armour tier list for anniversary I just found some new armour on there yesterday I didn’t even know was in the game
DLC armor or some other armor?
@@PTMG I was thinking a mixture of both, I just found some of the DLC armour yesterday and it blew my mind 🤣 didn’t even know it was there and I’ve done 4 play throughs of anniversary kinda felt like a idiot 🤣🤣
The only caveat is that physical shield is still the best armor lol
@@PTMG haha I mean your not wrong there 🤣 but I was thinking armour rating wise haha just a suggestion not gonna tell you how to run your channel your doing a good job as is 👍🏻
Actually a really good suggestion, just sadly there aren't any pre made lists for it yet
I might end up making some tier lists tho in the future so I might end up doing armor and weapons
Best game bringing back memories! Infraral wrath , slow time , multiarrow ,fireball ,battle charge ,multistrike , and summon( I tried my best to get a large balverine to my summon) are my favorites
Slow time with multi arrows pack a punch
Beserek with multistrike was good
It is possible to get the white balverine summon btw
Get it during the white balverine quest
Berserk is my favorite fable spell especially with multi strike
OP combo for sure
Wish that fable 2 and 3 would have stuck with the same spell system as tlc/anniversary, it felt so good to have such variety and the effects were brilliant, 2 and 3 spells were boring in comparison
yeah they killed magic in the sequels
Multistrike is S tier because of a feature you either didn't know or forgot to talk about. It goes through enemy block. If there is an enemy that just keeps blocking, just use multistrike to bypass their block making the fight so much faster and allows you to stun lock them.
good point
Solid vid man, new subscriber 🤙
Appreciate it!
23:00 another reason to love slow time.
You can cast slow time and physical shield at the same time and game won't notice that you've used physical shield. You can do a whole quest with physical shield on and still get the naked boast. :)
Ah yeah forgot about this
Did that for the entire quest boast playthrough made it a lot easier lmfao
Another thing about lightning it should be S tier because when it does the animation where it decapitates a target as it does the animation if you flick to another mob it'll insta kill them too so when fighting guards bandits ect u can kill 10+ in a second
Please don't skip ads guys ❤️
Dont have them
always do, you think im gonna listen to ads on youtube, on a TIER video? lmaoooo
Honestly I thought you were gunna out lightning in C or B and I was happy you put it in A. Most enemy crowds are 5-6 max and lightning being able to disable 4 of those enemies and generate a TON of will exp is so good, especially early on
I used to think it was kinda lame until I found out some of the exploity stuff you can do with it, particularly with bosses/hero fights
@@PTMGWhich exploit can you use against bosses with it? I didn’t know that, I always used it normally against them.
Well, i choose good playstyle at beginning, and Max all the good and neutral powers, then become evil to master the evil powers.
For me, the powers are situational,
For wasp queen, sword and lightining.
For Orchard farm, battle charge
For hobbe killing contest, battle charge with force push
For trader escort, slow time
For twinblade, assassin rush and multi strike/slow time because twin can only get hit in the back.
Etc etc..
PS: I really didn't like the Enflame previously, instead used The FURY or WRATH. But now I feel like Enflame is really great spell. You can keep spamming Enflame and despatch enemies very quickly..
Awesome Tier List! I couldn't agree more with your choices.
Glad you enjoyed it
Bit late to the commenting game, but yeah, I agree with the Divine-Infernal spell. During the first 3/4 of the game let's be honest Divine Fury and Infernal Wrath is probably the best somewhat big attack, the only downside really is the charging up which it is advised to level up your health and maybe have physycial shield too, but I'd say those two attacks are definitely the goal to have when the situation demands it.
yeah lately I find slowtime is almost annoying at it's highest levels
I think level 2 or 3 slowtime is the sweetspot
I always forget that you can't die with berserk, but honestly, I usually forget this specifically because I pretty much never die in this game
it's EXTREMELY hard to die in this game, especially when you consider resurrection phials
If you need berserk to stop you from dying there are bigger things to worry about.
With berserk active, it is impossible not to knock down every enemy you fight, which can make fighting them actually take longer since you have to wait for them to get back up before you can hit them again
Berserk definitely has it's place, and it's also one of my old time favorites, but there is also a lot wrong with berserk, and if I could fix some things about it I definitely would, particularly the knockdown effects in both regards.
I find it smart of the Dev team that both have their uses.

jacks magic mike lmfao
Beserk, multi hit, physical shield, force push, slow time.
Physical shield is good for keeping your multiplier really high and not getting knocked down, if you got lots of mana potions you can put physical shield on, go beserk, and use multi strike inbetween hits while shielded beserk.
yeah that's the power combo right there

I've never noticed until now, but when berserk, the red flaming effects are actually images of an angry face. Am I the only one who never noticed this?
I always saw the faces but never really thought much about it, and assumed it was separate from the fire effect
Interesting, I'll have to try target hopping with it
I usually have it maxed out so it target hops by itself, but yeah lightning is OP as hell.
Turncoat was a cool idea when they first made it probably
Then they made a bunch of other cool spells that made it stupid idk
That's the only explanation I can come up with for why they even added it at all lmfao
@@PTMG like most things British that I don't understand I assume it's a Monty Python reference and go about my day
My ultimate combination always were, in this order,
Slow time,
Berserk,
Multi hit,
Assasssins rush
slowtime and berserk is a pretty insane combo
especially with multi hit
Have you made one of these for fable 2? Just finished replaying the first one and I liked your input. Was curious if you had one for number two as well! Thanks
Only played fable 2 once so far
Honestly I hate all the spells in fable 2 they just piss me off lol
Very accurate tier list, I only wish summon could take advantage of TLC enemies and not just the jack minions. Also fireball can be really good for long distance killings.
Never even considered sniping with fireball lol
as far as TLC enemies go, I think the only TLC enemies that aren't considered "boss" monsters (summoners for instance) are weaker than minions
Battle charge is surprisingly really good for fighting whisper and thunder
I prefer enflame, but they both do about the same damage
Very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful
Physical shield+Lynchfield graveyard+Will/Stamina/Strength potions=unlimited XP. I got a combat multiplier of 50+ consistently every playthrough in that one area. You can get enough XP to max out every single stat before you even save your mother just in one spot.
You can do this at the grey house too, as long as you have 3 renown or higher, 2 large summoner undead spawn there, and they will spawn unlimited undead for you
makes this possible at basically any point in the game, but definitely before arena etc.
I'd place Enflame in S-tier, since on top of the characteristics you mentioned, it alos has imunity frames.
yeah enflame is pretty good idunno if it's S tier good tho
Drain life would be incredible if it wasn't for the fact that healing in the game is as simple as having food and potions available.
Never mind the fact that every attack in the game "drains" life lol
I think assassins rush is the best, due to the fact that you can hit and evade instantaneously.
definitely useful, but physical shield might as well be permanent evasion
Casting lighting while pelvis thrusting the enemy to death.
this is the way
I don't know about PC but for console I prefer Battle Charge (for combat) over Assassin Rush.
I still feel like enflame does the same thing without changing your position
I guess if you want a different/better position it would be helpful though
@@PTMG Yeah I use Enflame too, just not very often as my character 1-2 shots most things.
Awesome sir Plok. You never fail us. You always have a good video to share with. Always here to support you. Done watching sir. Hoping to be part of your growing team. Thank you.
I fucking died at 23:20
LOL
They way you expressed how trash it is.
🤣🤣🤣
lmfao you should see my turncoat playthrough I made recently
Not that it matters but you can kind of use drain life and a sword strike simultaniously with the right technique, so that might improve its score slightly. Plus it might get better rating if you run a challenge run, like mine I do not allow any food items to heal, except the crunchy chicken
lmfao crunchy chicks for healing
hope you wanted an evil character
@@PTMG Well Oakvale is burning.... :)
All spells in Fable are OP, some are just more OP than others. I disagree that Divine Fury and Infernal Wrath are better than inflame: Inflame is better simply because there is no cooldown time and mana is basically inexhaustible. One benefit you are missing regarding lighting is multiplier reservation: it is so instantaneous, long range, unable to miss, and can be used while you walk almost anywhere relative to your enemy that you can cross a map without losing multiplier if an enemy is in the middle of it, because you can hold down lightning as you traverse the distance.
enflame is definitely good, and better as far as damage goes
But the ability infernal wrath and divine fury have, to damage enemies and keep them frame locked in a damage sequence when they otherwise shoudln't be, makes it a different level of spell in my book.
Great video I did find a way to max out Berserk and physical shield in the same game utilizing the temple of skorm and the temple of light
easiest way is to just start out as an evil character and unlock all the evil spells, then once you reach temple of avo just money glitch and donate hella money for good points to unlock the rest of the good spells
Level 4 turncoat is broken! The cast time is like 1 to 1 and a half seconds and there seems to be no limit on how many enemies you can use it on
doing a turncoat playthrough right now and it is actually kinda fun
only problem is that the turncoated enemies often just stand around and do nothing
IMO, These are the top 5
1. Slow Time
2. Physical Shield
3. Multi-strike
4. Assassin's Rush
5. Berserk
Honorable Mention: Multi-Arrow( This should actually be up there with Multi-Strike, Its the easiest way to beat Jack *BOTH* times. Skorms Bow + Max Skill + Multistrike
Never really liked assassin rush as a standalone skill all that much
if you throw summon up there hell yes
But yeah definitely multi arrow needs to be up there
swap berserk and assassin rush around, then replace assassin rush with multi arrow then you have a good list
If I'm remembering correctly you can combo lightning and drainlife together. Also i think ghost swords can get multistrike.
Damn that sounds super OP if its true lol
Assassins rush also makes you invulnerable... I get busy when fighting trolls because you get up to a head on with your sure they go to ground pound yes ask and rush out yes that's when you rush back in you can beat them up a lot while they are still doing the animation
I always forget how useful it is for giants
@PlokTheMasterGamer it combos so well with slow time. I even beat the hole game with nothing but slow time assassin rush and a heavenly Fury as my spells I used.
Whenever I play, I end up using Enflame as it has INSANE damage evasion...
Your frames of "invulnerability" are almost unstable. Slow time, and you are op.
...just gotta break the economy and carry impossible amounts of mana potions.
You can also use slow time in pub games, like the card pairs game.
I always forget about this
My go to is Assassins Rush. Hit, hit, zoom. Hit, hit, zoom. I've never dodge in my nearly 20 years of playing Fable lol
Definitely a good strat was just never my style
I remember using lightning while blocking back on the original xbox... Give that a go😅
damn didnt think about that sounds OP lol
@@PTMG yeah using the physical shield for the majority of the game is fine and all but you gotta get to that point where you have enough will to be able to use it, so it's definitely an easy early lifehack for the first 5-10% of your gameplay
My fav childhood game
definitely one of my all time favorites
Do you feel like doing a fable music tier list
Not a bad idea
although I feel like a lot of the music is very thematically similar so rating it might be difficult, as they are all practically different versions of the same song
I always felt a lot of the personal and surround spells were mostly designed for coaplays
what do you mean?
18:55 I disagree. While multistrike always gives you the bonus, in case of multiarrow, most of the arrows just miss the target.
Yes, you get 6, arrows, but very often none of them reaches the target, becasue of this fancy animation.
true but as long as you account for your surrounding a bit, as well as the pathway to your target it usually works out well enough
I typically reserve it for bosses, where you usually have a nice wide open space for it anyway
You had me up until you put lightning in A tier. The moment the video started I said to myself “lightning and physical shield-S tier”; because on a magic playthrough that spell makes you virtually untouchable if you use it correctly. It’s always my go to spell right up alongside physical shield
Id probably put it in S tier if I were to re do this
Odd you didn't mention this but Multi-strike has one small (and kinda insignificant) flaw: Each "strike" does less damage than a regular melee hit.
just didn't really cross my mind I guess
for me assasin rush is one of the best spell cause let you invulnerable for 1 sec after blink and you can keep your combat multiplier intact, i dont use phisical barrier cause some quest need you to no use armor in your boasting and that spell count as armor.S tier no matter what.
btw if you cast physical shield and slow time at the exact same time, the game won't register that you casted physical shield, and it will let you get away with using it, even with the no protection boast.
I used that technique for the majority of my quest boast playthrough
23:12
Begining of turncoat spell ;)
Multi-arrow is a lot worse than multi hit because the arrows flew at a wider arc before hitting the enemies so many times they ended up hitting the scenery instead of the target dealing much less damage.
personally I only ever really found multi arrow necessary for bosses anyway, which pretty much all have enough space to not hit random object
Only reason i say beserk was by far #1 in the original fable, sword of aeons was 550ish damage, had a health and a mana augment, and i think a third open slot (cant remember)
But the earth troll outside knothole glade (only enemy left at the end of the game that didnt die in literally 1 or 2 hits with a 550 sword of aeons), if you beserked you could walk up to him and kill him in anywhere from 3 to 7 seconds just mashing x without multi strike.
230 damage sword of aeons is whack though, especially when skorms bow is already way more op anyway.
yeah it's a shame that they made the sword of aeons less appealing, when literally the entire point of the sword was that it was the most powerful sword
I think they only did it because in TLC theres obviously more quests and bosses after the first jack of blades fight, so it would be way too OP and would make the rest of the game fly by even faster than it already does
