This by far was the best video I found showing me how to get into my dash to the radio. Thanks!
Thank you!
@@gromaudio I have to agree, THANK YOU!
I have taken out my old radio and I’m waiting on the new one (same part number) to be shipped. Hopefully I can finally get the radio and screen back after they’ve not worked for about a year
@@BDCdrummer Did the new radio work? Did you have to reprogram it at the dealership? If so, how much did they charge you to reprogram it? Also, did other features like door sounds and directional lights sound came back after you replaced the radio? Mi radio as well as the lights behind the whole panel went off and I am trying to understand how to fix it.
@@claugogomez6924 Yes, AFTER I had the dealership reprogram it. I ordered the same part number from a junkyard and had it shipped to me. The dealer charged about $160 to program it. They told me they couldn’t guarantee it would work before they did it, but it has continued to work, so I’m happy I didn’t spend the $1400 dealers quoted me to install a new one.
Agree. Very useful video.
Okay I feel extremely dumb but is there not a receiver that you plug into? Is that what routing the wires into the glove box is for? I'm deeply considering the product but I'm just confused. If routing the wires into the glove box is for the receiver, is there any other alternate locations you can recommend so I can keep the use of my glove box?
The glove compartment is the recommended location, but it is not required. We always recommend mounting the system somewhere accessible so you can easily access it in case an update is needed. You can mount it somewhere below the glove compartment, for example.
where did you guys drill for the Male to Female usb? is there a preferred place to drill? I just ordered my system, and I just want a good idea where to drill it in
We usually recommend using the cigarette lighter adapter place. You can use the flush-mount, such as the one here: gromaudio.com/store/accessories/cable-c-fmusb.html
Was planning on upgrading the radio system to more automation that has TH-cam music and the call feature to the contacts and more radio stations options
You can check the GROM products available to GMC Chevrolet Cadillac vehicles here:

Select your car make/model/year from the drop down to see what is available for your specific vehicle.
Thanks 🙏🏽 awesome tutorial 👍🏽
Just installed this. Working well after latest firmware. There is definitely not room to mount to the top of the glovebox as hinted on this video. It only fits inside the actual glovebox, and it requires drilling a hole in the back of the glovebox to get the cables in. One day I’ll find some way to tuck it out of site.
Note, before firmware update, the vline would not automatically trigger the radio’s USB input without unplugging/reconnecting the usb at the back of the vline. Luckily the latest firmware update fixed this.
This upgrade activates the features on screen that are not lit 2015 chevy equinox? Any chance pre amp cables added too?
The VLine system adds the CarPlay and Android Auto capability to the 2015 Chevy Equinox. We do not supply pre-amp cables, I recommend to check with local stereo shop.
Good morning, I have an.equikox 2020, the problem is that in the calls it does not enable the.microfoki, which.could be the.pronlemma. thank you so much.
If you are using factory Bluetooth system, ensure that you connected via Bluetooth for the calls and for the media.
I have a 2015 Chevrolet equinox Lt and was wondering if this can fit my vehicle?
yes it will work as long as the stereo is MyLink 7-inch screen. Please check here: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-gm1.html
Would it be possible to go from the smaller screen factory stereo to the bigger screen stereo??
You will need to upgrade the stereo.
That right there is one happy cd player
I see this says it works with Google music, but that no longer exists. Does Android TH-cam music work with this?
Yes you can stream any apps using the GROM Bluetooth Dongle.
I have everything hooked up but the video display is working. What am I missing?
Check to make sure that you hooked the display cable GVMF correctly to the back of the display, according to the instructions.
What are the black and yellow attenas for
What is the timing on the video for the antennas that you are asking about? We will check.
Where can I get that power cable ? I have a 2014 equinox and I just bought a 2016 radio so I’m trying to do the same thing
2014 and 2016 Chevi Equinox use the same cables. If you already have VLine system for 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, it will fit to 2016 as well.
Thank you.
So from the looks of it this unit isn’t coming out anytime soon based on a Comment it was supposed to be released or Start Shipping by April 15th The Website says May 31st 2021. How can I cough up $700 comfortably if The Customer Service isn’t reliable as well. I really want to buy it just hope it’s in stock on May 31st or Around that time.

Oh damn, it isn't available yet?! I am hoping to have a full android head unit in my 2014 Equinox. I'll keep an eye out for this, literally the only thing that's seemed promising.
Thank you, yes please stay tuned by signing up at bit.ly/vline_interest
It is available for the pre-order now, check here: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-gm1.html
Would this work on 2011 equinox? Also are there official techs who can install this for people?
It will work on 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, please check here: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-gm1.html
The stereo must be MyLink 7-inch.
Any car stereo shop in your area can help you with the installation of VLine system into your vehicle.
@@gromaudio 2011 didn’t have mylink. It had colortouch 7” screen. Mylink wasn’t offered until the very latest 2012. Can you confirm if this will work with the 7” colortouch nav that was in 2011 and early 2012 Equinox models?
The interface looks the same as in your 2014 equinox video except it does not say mylink when it boots and there is no pandora. I see you asking for photos in FM mode. Unfortunately my car is at the body shop, but in FM mode it would look the same as the 2014 in your demo.
I can confirm now this works great on the early 2012 non-MyLink colortouch radio without nav.
Which one is the antenna the yellow connector that connects to the metal thing or the black connector.
GPS antenna is black:

I wish you would show or provide the OEM radio part number. I need to change out mine. Need to ensure I get the correct one for 2014. thx
I hope you got it but if u haven’t yet it should be in your owers manual
you can buy them at a junk yard for cheap. just look for a nice one. they can be found.
do you have to unplugg the battery to do all that ??
It depends on your technical ability. In general we recommend to unplug the battery, just in case.
@@gromaudio ok ,i like this video, cuz the buttons on my faceplate are sticky n its hard to get the heater or ac running , so thanks for this !!
@@gromaudio can u make a video about door dent removal or remote windows on a chevy equinox

Ive been trying to contact you before I make payment but is been impossible. I dont want to make payment and be out of stock since it says it will ship in the 15th of april.. can someone tell me who do I have tocall? Thanks

Ok so the vl2 never deactivates to go to the normal radio screen
Not sure what you mean, you can't go back to FM radio? You should be able to. If you need any help, please contact our technical team at gromaudio.com/support.html
It switches between factory and vline with the source button. Also automatically between the two when you reverse or adjust the A/C. The latter is a little annoying but does the job.
Do you guys have the radio wire color code for that car?
We have the installation manual. What exactly do you need the code for?
Just inquiry as know GM parts work with Saab 9-5 ng 2010 to 2012. 8 inch screen wondering if can confirm if this option available. Litteraly 100s if not 1000s on Saab 9-5 ng owner groups would be very interested to know.
Hopefully a yes and I share to forum's.
Would greatly appreciate response either way 👍
Thanks
Does the stereo look the same? Please send us the photos of your stereo playing in FM mode to support at gromaudio.com We will double check. Thank you!
