No Kill buyer took any horses!!!!! That’s the best news for animal rescuers that they will ever hear. What an accomplishment! Your goal and mission is to stop horses from going to slaughter and you did just that for this auction

“He’s a stallion. So that means he has a high opinion of himself & why he’s riding on his own!” Hilarious. A little humor during this tough time certainly brightens things. Thank you for the effort & sacrifice when you give it your all. You guys are amazing. All of you. Including the horses.

For the last 10 years my husband and I have worked with a dog rescue. We've fostered and found homes for 80 or so pups. Many on their last days at the shelter before euthanasia.
It is the hardest thing to see any animal that has been abused, starved and neglected.
Animals know and respond to kindness so quickly when given the chance. There is nothing like the look of love in an animals eyes when they know they are loved and cared for!
Thank you all for giving these beautiful creatures a chance to know love even if in some cases it is with the compassion of giving them the last act of kindness with loving hands helping them to be free from pain. 😘

    • @doloresreynolds8145
      @doloresreynolds8145 ปีที่แล้ว

Just fyi, the draft horses used by the Amish are just that - used. They are often treated like they were a piece of equipment. If they get injured, and must be put down, it is sad because it is a wasted investment, not because they care about the life of the horse. The horse is only of value while it can work.

It's times like this that I need hell to be a real place and all of these people who are responsible for the neglect and abuse to go straight there. There is no excuse at all for ANY animal to be neglected and abused. There are too many people in this world who are ready to take animals in to keep them from starvation, etc. That sweet drafty deserves all the love in this world! They all do! ❤️❤️

I’ve always loved working horses and the jobs they have filled for us, the muscle they have given us for generations. I love seeing a buggy horse, a cow cutter or an animal that carries for us. But to see them worked to death and discarded like a rusty saw is enraging.

Tawnee, you have mastered the art of RESCUE......down to the (last) breath......even figuring what air the horse has available in the right trailer! Hearing the strategies of auction bidding, keeping your cool in an emotional situation. The role of every person on the team is defined. After watching all the videos HPlus uploaded, I think this is technically the most proficient......as well as artistic......but especially the shared compassion this inspires in those who watch it. Cudos to your film crew. And LOVE to all those caring folks of RESCUES gathered together there.

Yes it is hard to see how these horses suffer going to so many auctions. Every episode makes me cry. There should be laws against bringing horses to auctions in that bad a condition. But then we have to also realize that they may suffer even worse if let where their at before auction.

Hi Diane- I agree that there is a huge need for closer supervision of the care animals receive from the people and corporate entities who own them.
The irony of saying so, for me anyways, is that the longer I live the less evidence I have that people in positions of authority use that power in legitimate ways. One of the dangers in better rules and stricter policies ( mayb that should read better policies and stricter rules?, lol) is that it does nothing to change the attitudes of ppl and corporations, and some of them will find other ways to dispose of their damaged and neglected animals in order to stay off the radar.
Horse rescue is not glamorous (thank G for that!!) but it draws a lot bigger audience than animal rights campaigns and committee meetings.
ending equine slaughter is not a hard premise to get people to buy into, but the array of forces on the other side of the debate has a whole different skill set and principles ( arguments, if you like) to defend the practice, so to engage with those entities and discover their position is an important step in meeting the challenge overall.

I think you are right about the mare’s perspective on her situation.
I hope everybody involved in her care feels an easing of their heart’s pain when they realize how their hard work and skills including at compassion helped to bring her out of that dark and lonely place.
You could see how most of them hardly dared to hope she would make it, so they must have been ecstatic at her recovery ❤️‍🩹.

It's easy to buy healthy horses and find adopters, but the 'damaged tools' (says it all Brandy) takes special kindred and gifted spirits to salvage such extreme neglect. Thank you for all you do!

Oh boy was this an exciting episode! The first time I cried right along with Phyllis at the beginning. The draft mare? Absolutely heartbreaking! How can Human Beings get a horse into that condition - and then disregard it at an auction? Really, really heartbreaking. And the mini with the bad feet and teeth? So heartbreaking that she had to suffer through so much! On a good note: I am sure all the organizations learned a lot. Horse Plus has an amazing system! I really hope the draft mare made it, but it sure didn’t look like she had a lot of chance 😢

The compassion of the rescuers is inspiring. There’s an emotional price to pay when you enter the world of the suffering horses in order to rescue. Keep up your fine work- but speak to Jason and Tawnee about strategies for balancing the hurt with recreational strategies. And I pray you don’t get exploitative trolling- this emotional work will attract some emotionally deregulated folk unfortunately.

It was so painful to see these poor horses, but also so painful to see all these amazing people cry. The world is lucky to have people like you, people like us (I hope) who care. It's not easy, it never become easier, but without you, without us, these horses have no chance at all. One at a time, step after step, we can build a better world for them.
I know it's difficult, it's so easy to think about all the poor souls it wasn't possible to save, but every single horse you saved is a light that shine brighter, a horse whose suffer will end, in a way or in another

No idea who in their rite mind could starve any horse period . Or any other animal for that matter .Owners like that do not deserve to ever own any animal period . Glad all y'all was able to save these beautiful babies once again .

These "people" should be arrested as soon as the poor horses are unloaded. Period!!!! No one should receive a damn dollar from their suffering!!!!

God-bless that young horse at least she feels the love from all of you and I pray for that little black-and-white you couldn't save that just breaks my hear that black-and-white horse does not deserve any more pain I can't believe how people can do that to their horses. My horse will eat before I do all my horses have been that way including all my cats and dogs I would never let any of my animals starve I. Would starve before they do!!!!🙏💔💔
If I had had the money I would have paid for you to rescue that little black-and-white horse.

This has a GREAT intro to the whole video! And exciting that all the participants in the HP+ mentoring this year.....are going to their first auction, while others are so aware of what is to come.......man alive, this is a powerful statement about RESCUE WORK. It also says a lot about the humanity of it all. Peace be with you all in Rescue. ......***********

How can anyone treat an animal like this can call themselves human. It is heart braking. Makes your heart hurt. Thank you for doing what you do.

This one was a real tuff one to watch I was 😢 to see the one down and the pony with the over bite and hooves. I will never understand how people can allow these beautiful horses go in horrible conditions. But for y'all to give them a second chance and show them what real love is its truelly amazing. Thank God for angels like you

Beside these poor sweet babies being so abused and neglected, which is criminal to say the very least, nature doesn't seem to do these guys any favors either. I mean, it seems like that most of the horses you have to say goodbye to have unfixable problems with their legs and feet. Since I've been watching you all, at least 75 percent of the animals who has to be let go have bad legs or feet. Poor guys. Thank you for giving them the respect and release from the pain they have been it.❤️

The saying "no hoof, no horse" is a very old one. These horse rescue organisations, that often get horses 20+ years, even 30+ years old, have one to match. "No teeth, not much future" Hoof care and dental care - WAY more important than fancy tack or beautifully plaited mane.

What an emotional episode. Love you guys and will continue to donate as able. Please keep us posted on that special Draft. Teared up as well feeling the love from you guys and pain that poor horse endured before ending up at this auction! No excuse on her care where she was before and trying to make $$$ off neglect. In their defense ?? Maybe they didn't know where to turn when they were unable to care for her properly ?? I'm so glad you found her and are doing what you can. God bless you all in the work you do! I'm sure it can't be easy. Your kindness even if it's the last act is admirable.
