It’s an interesting dynamic between Ody and Eury; on the one hand Ody is King and captain and this sort of open questioning can be a serious issue, but on the other hand they’re childhood friends and brothers-in-law so there’s some amount of leeway for Eury in particular. Fun times

This song establishes the inevitable conflict between Odysseus and Eurylochus, visible since song "Full Speed Ahead". Eury represents the crew and how they're feeling. They start off trusting his leadership, but as misfortunes strike one by one, doubts are starting to creep in. Ody tries to stop it by reassuring them and pulling Eury aside, but the tension is still there.
There's a really handy mnemonic device the friend who first showed me these gave for how to pronounce Eurylochus' name, just imagine he's got the mouth of a sailor and you're calling him out: "You really cuss!" It sounds silly, but I only had to hear it once and I've never forgotten or stumbled over it since.
