I liked Rayvis. His personality, voice actor. He was a great addition. So much so that it even got me to feel differently about Durge' . The fact their species live so long and gradually become more barbaric, the longer they live. Yeah, it made me want to know more about Durge'
YEA, THAT SUCKS... so remember KOTOR, I wanted to know more about many of the characters, so I PLAYED THE GAMES, Lol. Pathetic now, that I think about it George kinda started this trash of having to go find stuff about side character with no lore. So they could idk, build a golden toilet in his gigantic weirdo compound, via EU merch. Shame I was too young too appreciate that one VERY INTERESTING Old grey jedi, she aint what she used to be, she... (thats an ancient Simpsons reference, before what we THOUGHT SW couldn't get worse, WOW... I mean the prequels are still unwatchable, BUT FAN EDITORS have done AMAZING WORK making that trilogy watchable, to actually good. Damn HAL9000, and all those dudes are legends. HTF u make The Dark Knight Better.... they did gd)... wtf was i saying, Oh yea game, mid, ran/runs like trash, fuck back story on a badass character, i wanna do 2000s era climbing mechanics, lol wtf. Glad I always pirate first and pay ONLY if the media HAS REPLAY/REWATCH potential. So almost never in the past decade.

I wish Cal Kestis got to rebuild the Jedi Order instead of Rey. He’s a way better character. Love my boy.
And the thing is, canonically I do not see why he cannot. Sure, Luke and now Rey are supposed to rebuild the old Jedi order. But why can there not be any Jedi order offshoots? Like some new cult of force users entirely?
I see Cal as more of a Grey Jedi, perfect for building a new order that can repair some of its old failures. I hope they go this route

That would be awesome. As an Order 66 survivor, Cal shouldn’t trust any galactic government but just try and keep people safe.
I truthfully hope Cal makes his own order. I see Cal going more of a Revan route and balancing the dark / and light to be better than the Jedi
I loved Rayvis. I knew as soon as I read he was excited to see a Jedi again. And calling Cal "Noble Jedi Knight" when everyone else would call him traitor.
I honestly didn't want to kill Rayvis, but that would have disrespected him.

I love how Rayvis manages to actually get under Cal's skin about The Jedi Code. Because at the end of the day Rayvis was right. The only thing that separated Cal and Dagan were The Code itself and Cal's attachment to it.
It always threw me off at how Cal just cuts off Rayvis' head and he dies like shouldn't his head reattach itself cause Gendai are impossible to kill the only way that Durge was able to die was Anakin throwing him into the sun.
Bro, don't tell me canon nerfed another thing from Tartakovsky CW 😨 we couldn't have epic Grievous, but now Gen'dai are nerfed too?
I’m pretty sure durge was a special gendai, modified by a scientist he viewed as his father
In game entries retcon a gendai only able to die if the entire body or “central nerves” was destroyed, calling back to how surge died
@@Hello-bi1pm no. They didn’t nerf Gendai. Durge was a modified Gendai with cybernetic enchancements to make him regenerate faster. Also, you can kill a Gendai by slicing their brain, which cal does
@@oXRaptorzXo Idk what your comment is based off of but I’m glad I saw it 😂 I was so disappointed when he died as simply as he did, thinking he was somehow nerfed or retconned to be killable traditionally when that shouldn’t have been possible. One of my favorite characters in the game 👏👏
I brought up Durge on the Mandalorian subreddit awhile back. Mentioning “Durge or his species needs to make a comeback” I’m glad Rayvis showed up in this game. Thank you for this clip.
It’s dope cause apparently Durge is canon now if you look him up, hope they bring more in about the Gen’Dai

Rayvis made me yell out "Yoo, Durge!" when I 1st saw his tentacles.
I seen a comment recently making fun of how Rayvis wanted an ‘honorable death’ then gave up to Cal so quickly.
My rebuttals was Rayvis being a warrior from a different time and a mix between a Viking and Samuria. Who crave the battle and want to go out fighting. You confirmed my thesis.
I am really glad to see them bring back a GenDai character. It helps to solidify their presence in the current canon. I would like to see one if them in a Book of Boba Fett or Mandalorian as a rival/antagonist. Dirge was a great foe. That unstoppable force mixed with a strong personal code is intriguing. TOR had The Flame on Nar Shaddaa. That was a fun storyline. Rayvis is equally interesting. Hopefully Rayvis somehow regenerates for later appearances! I want to see more GenDai!
When I saw his tentacles I actually smiled ear to ear and had to pause, I didn't think they would have added a Gen'dai to this game and it made me so weirdly happy
We need a clone wars Jedi fallen order style game.

I expect to see Rayvis in Phase Three of Project Luminous/The High Republic. I found him to be an interesting character. Imagine if there ever had been a Gen'Dai Jedi or Force-user?
I really wanted more of him in the game.
Him and Dagan were wasted and sidelined
Rayvis was a total badass samurai: not for hire, rather a volunteer for who he considers to be strong, using his own strength as the measure and the will of the force to bring him to the strong ones whose challenge he rises to
I have always said the Durge should be a main antagonist for The Mandalorian and Boba fett. His anger for the mandalorians have deepened over the years and he has all the motivation to go after mando and boba. He could be like the terminator in way. Din trys all these ways to kill him but no matter what he does, Durge just keeps coming back. Durge is such a cool character and i think he should return maybe for the mando movie or something

I always wondered if the 3D animated Clone Wars was trying to retcon Durge since there seems to be no reference of him or the Gen'Dai

I agree. Rayvis sounds very interesting and impressive. Imagine if you saw so much history,events. Rise and fall of Jedi. Rise of the Empire. He saw everything and beyond. He deserved all respect. He has honor and chivarly. Most important things. Durge sounds pretty interesting too. Also honorable and very powerful. I would lilke to know more about them. The Force will be with you too. Always :)
considring how much overlap exists between gendai culture and traditionalist mandelorian sects (like the children of the watch), when considering being mandalorian is basicly being part of a religion, it is suprising that there is not at least one gendai mandalorian in canon, even considering how rare are gendai.Thier cultures just match.
i mean in the situations the scarce and rare gendai can go through he will probably meet at least one mandelorian of a more traditionalist set of belife, considering gendai lifespan, even if such individual gendai's exposure to a mandalorian sect happaned thousands of years ago he would still be alive, practicing the way of the mandalore wich is perfectly compatible with gendai belifs:
1) honor,check.
2) steriotypical warrior code,check.
3) a segnificant part of the species (culture) ends up being honor bound (when it comes to mando traditionalists) merceneries and/or bounty hunters.
4) cultural segnificancee for armor ( as it shapes gendai form and beskar for mandos).
the only difference is the never remove your helmet part in front of a stranger that only SOME mandalorian sects follow. not s huge difference for a gendai as any typical gendai is a being that is used to covering most of his body in armor out of sheer necessity.

The second time you fight the 2nd sister you mop the floor with her. The Staff droids are harder than her.
I think Rayvis was an interesting character, but i struggle with his end; hiw did Cal kill him? O h no, he decapitated Rayis...and? Rayvis doesnt have a "head", or a brain, or windpipe, so cutting off that "segment" of his body doesn't seem it woyld impair him anymore than losing the arm did. Kenobi cut him into bits; he came back in minutes. Kenobi splattered Durge all over a room, and he came back; I don't believe some magic nugget of him survived in his helmet, that led him to come back. Anakin geenaded his face later, and his anatomy survived, leading to him gettind shot into a star. I get that they can die, and also that it helps to have a means to hope Rayvis won't just keep popping up, every half hour, to pester Cal, but it just seems like Cal couldn't have killed him, and maybe Rayvis just said "finally someone "killed" me; im done worh sll of this." Bur i dont feel it would have been fatal, if Durge was anything to measure by.
Durge was enhanced with cybernetics to make him regen like he did. Most Gendai can’t do that so fast. Also Gendai do have a brain, and you can kill one by slicing it
@@oXRaptorzXo I knew about Durge's augments, but not that he has a brain. I assumed it took fire, or excessive trauma, to kill them.
Either they nerfed his species or Rayvis is still alive, because we saw Durge get chopped up and blown up from the inside. The only way Durge was killed was being thrown directly into a star, right? There's no way a couple of lightsaber cuts could kill another of the same species, right?
Durge was cybernatically enhanced. Rayvis was not. Also Gendai can die by slicing their braib
Hope they add the battle grid, If we can make certain ones friendly I really want to do Cal and Bode vs Dagan and Rayvis or Cal and bode vs all the lightsaber bounty hunters
I think rey and luke's storyline really limits that of cal. Like I really see potential in him in restoring or making a better order. And I don't know how but I hope they expand his story and give him like having an important role. Hey And I think they can mix his story with the period of star wars rebels with ahsoka and kanan.
SWTOR has a questline on Nar Shaddaa which involves the Imperial genocide of alien species and how many (including a good guy Gen'Dai) are fighting back.
They really messed up his boss fight. He felt so weak for someone as powerful as a Gen’Dai. I figured we’d defeat him by throwing him into that particle beam but all we did was slash him….

What we do know is it was the hardest and most frustrating boss fight in this game lol
Rayvis was hands down my favorite boss from Survivor and had more depth imo than the other bosses

Can you do a video on how Cal measures up at the end of this game in power to other well know characters (Ashoka, Obi wan, maul, etc). Also do you know if he can learn magic like Merrin? That would be awesome in a 3rd game
If Merrin and cal have a kid and it has the force and nightsister magic that’ll be a force to be reckoned with
Cal is a really strong Jedi at this point and by the time of the next game I think he will be strong master level

Survivor to me is hope for star wars. It proves they can still.make good stories ue to the hand the high republic team had in thia game. Hopefully the writers on this game will get to work on live action star wars

For all the people complaining about his decapitation I would point out his head is a more standard human-like head in game, meaning its NOT made of tentacles and that could be part of the reason its needed to kill him

He was an interesting character but I was hoping for a fight like in the animated show.
Most Gendai aren’t like Durge. Durge was cybernatically enhanced. Most Gendai just regen over time not in seconds

Man I feel like Reyvis was wasted. First time we’ve seen his species in Disneys era. He had so much depth too but was quickly killed off to leave way for the actual story the writers wanted to tell

My question is why can't Disney find people like this (Respawn) who love and respect the IP to write for them. I haven't finished the game yet but the story is so much better than the sequels it isn't even funny.
Look I’m gonna be real, i liked tge story but i would prefer if Rayvis was the main villain. He’s voice alone is enough to make him the best character of the game besides Cal.

I grew up on the clone wars animated series 2003 and never thought I’d be facing a gendai in a future game, just another reason I loved survivor
I think it would’ve been really cool if when fighting Ravis in Jedi Survivor he would’ve had a third and finale phase where he becomes the big blob of spaghetti and Cal has to launch him on an es pace pod into the Kobo Abyss in order to destroy him. Since in legends in order to destroy a Gen’Dai you would have to launch them into a Sun or nuke them.
Sending Ravis the to the Abyss without the device would’ve been a perfect way to end him.

Rayvis was the best character in the game for me. All about loyalty, honor, and respect. Wasn't a bad guy, but he wasn't a good guy either. Would love to know more about him.
if you think about it every single character in the game had their own reasons to fight. i love that every one of them had a reason to be in the game
@@shahrbanooShadpooriDagan did not have a valid reason. I know he woke up and last thing he remembered was his crush cutting his arm but still he got furious on an orden that no longer exists.
His goal was to return to the Tempel and he’s like the only person to want the tempel anyone else just wants any random place on the planet.
Also Tanalor is like so insanely overrated. Finding an uncharted planet is like the easiest thing in star wars like half the galaxy is literally unknown. Also the Nihl getting to Tanalor breaks the whole premise of it why the order was right to leave it
I loved Rayvis. From his first line in the game I knew he was gonna be a good character. The voice actor really sells the part. I also really enjoyed his perspective on honor and loyalty. His conversations with Dagan were always a joy to watch. I would have been happy if Rayvis and Dagan were the main antagonists for the game and we got more cutscenes of them. Maybe even some flashbacks of them fighting.
One of my favorite moments in the game is when Cal finally defeats Rayvis. He cuts off both his arms, brings his saber up over his head, and then he waits. He gives Rayvis his finally moments to find peace before finally cutting off his head. Cal could have just killed him immediately, but him stopping to give Rayvis those few seconds really felt like true respect between warriors.

So what I don’t understand is. How did revis know to come free degan and why he never free him it was only when cal free him revis just popped up there after all them yesrs
Because, up until that point, Ravis struggled to find the key needed to free and find Dagan. It was Cal using the key and finding the laboratory that led to Dagan's discovery.
It was cuz he needed the key that zee gave to cal. Also those little prove droids were spying on cal so they probably were sent by Ravis to find cal and know when Dagan was freed

I remember watching that clone wars series, 5 min at a time in between actual cartoons. One time, around when it was pulled off tv, i saw a dvd box set at costco and didnt get it. That killed me on some level and for YEARS I kept going back to Costco assuming it would show back up.. when it popped back onto disney+ I binged it. So damn good, especially after watching primal and appreciating Gendy more
