Three Ships 6yr Chenin Blanc (South Africa) - Reviewed

The Three Ships 6yo Chenin Blanc Finish is the 2022 and seventh release in the annual Three Ships Master’s Collection. This limited-edition release is actually a grain whisky that began in 2016, when Master Distiller Andy Watts column-distilled unpeated malted barley to create a lighter style of a traditionally complex malt whisky. The spirit was matured for four years in American oak casks, before being finished in Chenin Blanc casks for two years. 2,856 bottles were produced, each individually numbered. Bottled at 46.3%.
Nose: The inviting nose reveals lemon cream biscuits, tropical fruit, rooibos tea leaves and hay, and a subtle honey sweetness.
Palate: The taste is warm, with delightful nuances of Golden Delicious apples, candied pineapple, subtle pepper, and lemon zest on the palate.
Finish: A warm, fragrant, and lingering soft spice finish with fruity tones.
