- Hello
In this easy to follow tutorial, I will show you how to create the herringbone weave around a cube bead.
As always, this tutorial is beginner friendly. You can use any size of cube bead, and you can follow along, step by step.
Thanks for joining me, as always
Sam x
This is absolutely darling!!❤
Thank you so much ☺️
I have a bunch of square beads n didn't know what to do with them... thanks for the idea ❤❤❤
You’re welcome 😊
Love the way you make them. Thanks for sharing
Glad you like them! ☺️
Such a lovely design enjoyed watching thank you.
Thanks so much 😊
So beautiful. Your ring on your thumb is beautiful too. Maybe your next tutorial? Oh please, 😊
Yes it’s coming soon! ☺️
Oh... Great 😍
@@samanthalatimer1 Yay! I was going to ask as well.
And now I need cube beads 🤦🏼♀️😂
I’m so sorry 😬😆
Oh Samantha you come up with ways to make something like a herringbone wrap look absolutely so doggon cute!!
I LOVE the chain you are making, looks like you are almost done. ♥️
Thanks so much! 😊 You’re so sweet 🤗
I've done the herringbone wrap before, but never on cubed and so tiny. I think I might have some turquoise and clear crystal cubes. I've to go dig through my stash. And if I can't find any it gives me a good excuse to order some, LOL. I think your herringbone wrap is so dainty and beautiful. I love it!!!! Oh and about Glory's snoring, I've got a little chihuahua that could rival Glory. Teddy likes to lay up on my shoulder and snore in my ear. He's tiny, about 4 lbs and a rescue. Love your tutorials. You are so creative!!!!!!!
Thank you, as always 😍 I hope I don’t get into trouble with your husband for enticing you to buy more things 😉
@samanthalatimer1 you aren't in trouble, lol. Now, me on the other hand I'm always in trouble. LOL. Just kidding. He always tell me to order what I need. He's a pretty terrific guy. Looking forward to your next tutorial already..
@@jeanettatownsend6807 he sounds just like mine. We’re very lucky ☺️
They’re gorgeous, thank you Sam x❤
Absolutely my pleasure 🤗
I have cube beads, and your tutorials are great for beginners. I definitely want to try this in silver and will practice with copper first for length. I am looking forward to more inspirations. Thank you.
That’s wonderful to hear! I aim to make my videos so the beginner can follow along so this makes me happy 😊
I've never tried herringbone with cubes. I love it! I really like how you added the small bead to each end as well.
Thank you! I think the little beads just make the links a little bit different 😍
You always seem to know what I'm thinking lol. I was just thinking about cube beads. Thank you!
You are so welcome! 🤗
I am fond of square beads. They add so much texture and interest. And melon beads, rondelles, ovals, oblong - pretty much anything except round. Unless a bead is unique I tend to forgo round beads. I started designing and making my own clothes - then jewelry - in the mid 1960s. (Initially I used my paternal Grandmotherxs treadle sewing machine - I still have it!) Back then over 80% of the beads I could locate were round. I finally resorted to wooden beads, sanding and carving them into interesting shapes. I guess I was in my mid 40s before I realized that was the cause of my stash had few round beads. I ended-up carving/sanding/cutting/priming/painting beads before I could start creating jewelry. It wasn't traumatic - it was annoying.
I do love the more unusual shaped beads ☺️
Hi Samantha. Love this bracelet. My only problem is, I'll order findings etc online and when they arrive, they are all different shades. I see you don't have this problem. I use the SWC copper wire but my spacer bead are a different colour. Could you point me in the right direction as to where you pick up your copper decorations please? I'm not a business, just a beginner who loves your designs. Thank you x (I'm in the NW of UK)
Hello lovely. Send me an email at samanthalatimer@outlook.com and I’ll send you links for the beads etc 🥰
Love this! Always wanted to learn this technique! Thank you so much!!❤
You are so welcome! 🤗
Thank you for all of your ideas
Love that ring on your thumb..... let us know how you made it!!!! Please
Coming soon! 🥰
The cubes are a refreshing look for links!! Thank you ❤
Thank you, as always 😍
Love the herringbone pattern! Thank you!❤
You’re very welcome ☺️
Really pretty, love the herringbone around the cube 😍 Thank you 😊👏🏻🌟
You’re very welcome ☺️
so gorgeous Sam!!! i love the color way and the pattern , i did not catch the size of the cube bead, 4mm, 6mm or 8mm ty for a great video!!
Thank you so much! ☺️ I think these ones are 6mm, but you can use this technique with pretty much any size. I’m not at home right now, so I can’t check for sure, but I think they’re 6mm 😍
Tried it with rectangular/cube tigers eye.. it seemed there was a wide and narrow side to the bead so tried another on the narrow. I need to practice more but like the look. Thank you!
You’re very welcome! ☺️ I do think it works better if you can get cubes with equal sides - I’m always amazed at how some beads can be so wonky! 😬
I love your simple instructions and designs. I'm new to your channel and have already made about six different pieces.
How lovely! Hope you enjoy making them 😍
He these links. I've never seen a herringbone done that way but it seems easier and you don't use nearly as much wire! I can't wait to give it a try!
Hope you enjoy making yours 😍
Sam tu trabajo es muy hermoso , me encanta, lo haces mirar fácil, pero si cuesta un poco muchas gracias, te sigo con mucho gusto.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Muchas gracias por sus amables palabras ☺️
I have tiny bag full of cube beads and I haven't got even slightest idea what to do with them.. Now I know. Thank you so much 😊
You are very welcome! Enjoy ☺️
It looks really beautiful, will surely try it . Btw can you drop tutorial for your ring .
It’s on its way soon! I’ve had a few people ask for it so who am I to refuse 😍😍
Love this-love your videos-thanks for sharing.
That’s so very kind of you, thank you for being here with me 🤗
Hello Sam,
I’m a complete newbie to wire work and jewellery making and just came across your channel last night. What an incredible find….. I love your teaching style, sense of humour and enthusiasm! I ended up watching 2 hours of tutorials till 3am🤦🏾♀️😂
I’m a floral designer and just delving into making floral wearables like wrist/shoulder corsages and neckpieces. Some techniques use an aluminium wire base to attach flowers to and require some basic wire work. However, I’ve fallen into the deep rabbit hole of wire work and jewellery making having watched some of your tutorials! I’d love to make more interesting designs with some elegant wire work which are exposed rather than just being a base for the flowers ; this would definitely add value to my creations.
Apologies if this is covered in your other videos…. Would you consider making a video for absolute beginners addressing the best essential tools and supplies to get started and if possible where to source materials from. I’d love to hear your recommendations based on your experience and why you choose some makes over others.
Thanks for your valuable knowledge, skills and most of all your sense of humour and enthusiasm in sharing all of that with us! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ah this is such a lovely comment, thank you for taking the time to write 🥰 I’d happily make a video on tools and materials etc., if you’d find it useful. I’ll definitely add it to my list ❤️ It’s so lovely to have you here 🤗
@@samanthalatimer1 thanks so much, that would be brilliant! I’m based in the UK as well, in Glasgow, so any tips about where to source materials/tools from would be ever so helpful.
As I am a complete beginner, I need to get some essential tools and wires/beads etc. all I have now are some floristry aluminium wire 2mm and 0.5mm. I’ve been using my husband’s DIY pliers just to try out some wire work with some hilarious results 😂😂😂
Once again, thanks so much for your generosity in knowledge sharing! ❤🙏🏾
So pretty. And thank you for going slower
You’re so welcome ☺️
Cute bracelet. How long was the 18 gauge wire?
I don’t really measure sometimes lol but I’d say about 4 inches 😉
And tell us about that ring you have on your thumb please. We need a tutorial pretty please? 😊❤
Oki doki 😍 Coming up soon 😊
@@samanthalatimer1 you're the bestest!!
So beautiful. How long before the copper tarnishes and turns dark?
It depends upon the wearer ☺️ You can seal it with a wax sealant to help keep the tarnish away
Thank you 💛
Ciao Samantha . Sono bellissimi. Grazie ancora per l'idea
Thank you so much ☺️
Very pretty and delicate, Sam! ❤
Thank you! 😊
These are beautiful!!!
Thank you! 😊
You are so talented❤
That’s so kind of you, thank you ☺️
