People used to rage about SFIV Sagat about how busted he was.... but for me the most brutal incarnation of him was Alpha. That multihit HP Tiger Uppercut was almost banned at the arcades i played back then.

Personally I think the First Street Fighter Alpha is one of the most underrated Street Fighter games. For me Street Fighter Alpha 2 favorite Street Fighter game of all time. And the Street Fighter Alpha Series hands down the best series.

You say he's not a worthy enough opponent, but we've never actually seen Ken fight in a vengeful and angry manner (well, except maybe in the Street Fighter anime, but even then he mostly kept his cool).

@@ahumblechicagoan9942 If Ken wasn't a worthy enough opponent, then why did Akuma copy Ken's shoryu reppa? Akuma must have at some point seen Ken fight and thought that that move was worth copying.

A neat thing about Alpha 1-2 is that there's no dedicated boss character. Everyone just ends up fighting whatever rival/nemesis/etc makes the most sense for their story.

@@joshualowe1821 It was a joke. Since Max was playing the Alpha games, which are in an anime style, I made the joke. That's all. My real favorite anime is Fullmetal Alchemist, I haven't seen any other REAL anime, I've only watched obscure Amazon Prime Romance anime.

True Story : when Alpha/Zero came out in France, I bought the game solely based on THAT intro ! I hadn't seen anything else about it. I loved Street Fighter, this anime-ish intro looked awesome I wanted it !

Ryu theme in Alpha/Zero1 is my personal absolute favorite version of Ryu theme. Simple, clean and neat.
Also the guy he's talking about beating is Akuma, this is after Ryu and Ken found out Gouken was "killed" by Akuma. They actually found that out after returning home after SF1.
After years of fights,Ken now fights to be the top alpha!He even grew a ponytail for the occasion!

it started with darkstalkers , it came out one year earlier i think .
i don´t remember when or where i read about that,but i think is because capcom usually tested game-mechanics before with sf and in alpha series, each game had different styles.
I love every game in the Alpha series. Too good!
i have to say, when i was a kid, when i was trying to beat the game with ken for first time i suffer with ryu , i was really bad since i didn´t know how to do specials and neither supers and ryu always kicked my ass or jump away with the tatsu.
nowadays i see myself as a better player and i can easily win againts ryu but i´ll never forget that time when i was a complete noob and wasn´t able to even do a simple hadouken.
Max Ken was talking about Akuma cause he saw him "kill" Gouken.
Try this combo here:
Crossup flying kick (MK or HK) > crouch (LP > LK > MK) > standing HK > shoryuken or shoryu-reppa
The chain combos here work for mostly everyone and are loosely based on the first Marvel Super Heroes game on the arcades...

This game on the PSP was where I properly learned the SF moves.
Man Alpha 2 is definitely my favorite of the Alpha games but i always really liked the chain combo system in Alpha 1, it was a lot of fun. Guy and Akuma were by far the best characters in this game. They were too damn good.
KEN IS BASICALLY THE BEST, the alpha series is where I spent most of my time playing SF :)
Part of me kind of wish that the Alpha series retained the chain combos instead of limiting nutty combos to meter dependent custom combo systems. Granted, the chain combos always did feel like a more natural fit in over-the-top franchises like Darkstalkers and Marvel. Keeping SF's focus on solid fundamentals made sense in order to give each franchise a strong identity.
And max is FINALLY started the Street Fighter ALPHA series!
it wasn´t this alpha version of the sf characters that were used in the vs. series, its the alpha 2 version , in fact, they have the same voices for those characters(ken´s voice for example) , however , despite the sfa characters had new animations in sfa3 , they were never used in the vs. series and they stick with the alpha 2 versions.

I hope you include SVC Chaos with Violent Ken in this legacy series. Shoryuken cancel into Kuzuryuu Reppa and then catch with Shinbu Messatsu. Loved to do that.

15:00 honestly Max your tangent there was on point and just perfectly describes everything wrong with SFV’s story. Personally I find that SF4 had the better story since they at least flesh out Ryu and Ken better later in the end. And I definitely did miss when the fighters actually talked to each other before a battle
It's even better when there's no point to the fight. See: Abel vs. Fei-Long and Rufus vs. Dhalsim rival fights in SF4 - summed up as "I DON'T LIKE WHEN PEOPLE ASK QUESTIONS" and "Dhalsim is very annoyed by this large man."

Was playing this today because I wanted to join in the Ken Legacy, I even played and beat the game with Ken.
Edit: I really wish they had a 3 button setting for the controls where you press one button and it counts as pressing the 3 Punch or Kick buttons at once. It makes the Alpha games hard to enjoy since you can only do level 1 supers. Even Darkstalkers 3 has this button configuration setting.

This guy probably also likes buttons that perform throws for him with 1 button. SMH. I refuse to back down on this. Get actually good.
NAK3DxSNAKE I use a Pro Controller and use it’s D-pad for command inputs. The timing is very tight for hitting all 3 buttons at once. It’s worse than trying to execute a Special move in SF1.
I know he probably recorded most of these already but I think it would be cool to do more than just one alpha. I think the story changes for every game in the series for some people.

Well it is called Alpha, which means the beginning. So lore wise it is suppose to be the very first Street fighter. in japan they called it Zero though. Like with Resident evil Zero being a prequel to 1.
