In texas, your net can't be above 14-foot diameter, so the biggest net you can use is a 7-foot castnet. Anything more it's illegal

7 footer is a good size to use year round. Lately been using 7 footer I got from academy sports for 50 bucks but its about had it.

@thecatfishking9047 do you ever soak it in fabric softener? I just got a 4ft castnet in the mail today and it's soaking in water and fabric softener at the moment but tomorrow I plan to practice throwing in the yard after I hose it down and it drys
