Somebody had the Buckeyes more confident more aggressive and very much ready for the Rivalry and they played like it. And they won those two games when they probably shouldn't have. Can we say Ryan Day could do that? No we just had evidence of it he can't. What makes anyone think he's going to take Ohio State into Michigan next year when a young team brand new quarterback and win...?? It's not going to happen we all know that he will be one and three and people want him fired again and we all know he should have been fired this week. Michigan ran 60 offensive plays. They averaged 70 yards/play on 5 TDs and 3.29 yards/play for the other 55 plays. How one team can play that well and that poorly on the same day is obviously down to poor coaching and leadership.
Our kids played hard for three and a half quarters.

Them stats don’t mean nothing they got out schemed and out toughed . OSU consistently put 9 10 in the box all day and got beat up front all day and on offense Michigan played sound defense and except for 1 stupid call trying to blitz from 20 yards back kept everything in front of them and made good tackles all day. Harrison and Ebuka both had a touchdown apiece in the first half and ended up with 100 meaningless non impact yards. 2 years straight Michigan dominated this game.

Michigan was missing their best players on offense and defense and still won. That should tell you everything about the line play. They were not owning the lines in the first half. JJ never got sacked and was hardly pressured. OSU was 8-9 in the box and we had our 3rd and 4th string backs (Edwards hardly played in the first half).

Marvin Harrison And Ebuka had 100 meaningless yards just like the receivers last year Stroud had 349 yards again on like close to 50 attempts all meaningless yards . Should've, would've, could've. Michigan was confident going in, and it showed. You didn't score 28 in the first half...because they stopped you. It's that simple. The first drive of the game was bs, and the refs refused to call several false starts, and holds. Then the phantom face mask call on the 2nd drive put them in FG range. They gave them an easy TD with the bad defensive call to blitz the safety. This game wasn't even as close as you think it was. Buckeye nation is too mesmerized by stars. "How many stars does this player have? How many stars does that player have? Okay, put him on the field and keep him there no matter how ineffective he is because he's a 5-star recruit." Stars, stars, stars. Talent, talent, talent. Time and again this season, Henderson and Williams couldn't get one and two yards when they were needed. Trayanum comes in and does nothing but gash MICH over and over again in the first half, and Buckeye nation is screaming, "Get him out! Put back in our delicate 5-stars because they're 5-stars." OHST clearly needs RBs in the vein of Saban's Heisman-winning backs last decade, not RBs that dance and pirouette their way to the perimeter: bulldozers and bruisers. If MICH wants to play smash-mouth football/bully ball, OHST needs to get bulldozers for bell cows of its own and tell MICH, "Okay, I'll meet you on the block."

Rewatching the game I think the 4th and 6 where cj wanted to go for it and day punted I think it was going to be a fake punt and would have worked it was set up perfectly but the snapper didn't snap to rossi or thought it was off after the flag for flase snap. It was there

Yeah there was also more than one times Michigan’s defense End could have picked Cj off so .

Curious how many deep balls were thrown this year vs last year. To Birms point, doesn't feel like they threw the ball down field much this year

That’s exactly why y’all need to join the Big 12 lol Stroud had well over 300 yards passing and 2 receivers went over 100 receiving yards, but yall never say shit about running the ball grinding down the defense instead just beg and beg for more passing. Y’all are weird 45-23 go blue!

Birm, my son (first time at the Shoe) and I had seats at the 42 yard line (great view of the whole field) and never thought we would see the Buckeyes run such a vanilla offense on The Game. Not sure why Ryan Day did not exploit them with Dallan Hayden up the middle and some slants (for the middle was wide open all game long) for our top notch receivers. And why in the H was Marvin not used more -- heck you can throw him anything and he will catch it (ok he had a drop that game). One thing I did notice about Ryan Day that you can not see watching on TV -- he is a total
micromanager and had his head in the playcards all game. Manage the game, get in the players faces on stupid penalties, praise them for great plays--quit Micromanaging!! He spent most of his time totally on his headset (sure he was talking with Kevin Wilson) and now I see why the play calls barely beat the time clock or we get delay of game. Admit you got out coached by Harbaugh
and fix your discrepancies during game day. If you can't give this up -- move on! You get paid 10Million a year so we expect you to completely manage and coach during the game. No one wants to see Ichigan bury the M flag in the block O ever again. Plus, this tells you quite a bit about the Ichigan fans (totally no class)!!! The whole experience was totally disappointing.
But, I am used to poor coaching during my experience during my Engineering undergrad at Ohio State -- I remember well John Cooper 2-10-1 against our arch rival.

Bottom line. Can’t run spread offense with a pocket passing QB!

Agree with the playcalling discussion. The play calling has become predictable and stale. I think Day needs to hand the rains over to Wilson or get someone like Garrett Riley to come in and tweak the offense a little. This whole season, the offense looked clunky like Bill said, and it shouldn't be that way with all these weapons. A Qb who is willing to take the free yards with his legs would help this offense drastically.
