Thanks so much! I've been using Blender for 6 months, and didn't understand all this stuff until I saw your video! 😊

Oh wow, thank you so much for this tutorial! Usually you just find tutorials about how you can add a texture to a model or how you can vertex paint but I've missed some explanations what are the reasons for/against and pitfalls of the different methods. Your video was very helpful for me to get a deeper understanding about this!

It would be nice if you could do a video about using this tools to paint across the seams of Genesis 8 material zones to help paint skin textures!

It's in the works, both with Blender and Substance Painter 😉
While it works in Blender, the performance can be very laggy, Substance Painter doesn't have that problem. In principle you'll need to setup a new texture for each surface of the Genesis figure, then setup a new texture node just like I've shown you here. That'll let you paint across seams.

how do i add a dress i made in blender to daz

Export as OBJ from Blender, then import into Daz Studio. With a Base Genesis figure loaded and the dress selected, head over to Edit - Object Transfer Utility. That'll turn it into confirming clothing. This explains the process in detail with an MD garment: th-cam.com/video/c8KCxFWCEMQ/w-d-xo.html
