He was. I miss him. I am his former postal carrier when he lived in Atlanta Ga before he moved to Athens. I loved his twins too. I cried when he passed
This song is from 1980. Definitely one of his finest. He was also an incredible bass player. Back in 1968 he was with a group called the First Edition and did a song called Just Dropped In, which is completely different from this. A great duet is with him with Dolly Parton doing a song called Island In The Stream, which was written by Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees. That's another beautiful song. That one is from 1983. You made me cry, too. I never heard this live version before, but it definitely sounds close to the studio version. Thank you for sharing. RIP Kenny Rogers 1938 - 2020.

I loved your comment but I gotta ask......... is that a pun./play on the song he has that he wrote about Waylon Jennings and his wife Jessi Colter? Sweet Music Man..." Nobody Sings A Love Song Quite Like You Do " ? If it wasn't, it was the perfect tie in ! The words of that song, while written about Waylon, most suits Kenny to me .
One of the most genuine reactions i ever saw here on you tube. You have a beautiful tender heart, and this song certainly brings that out. Certain songs do that to me as well.
This song makes me bawl my eyes out. Every time I hear it. It grips your heart and soul. I love that you cried. His voice is EVERYTHING, PERFECT... just like you said. He is epic. He is a legend. His voice is Pure perfection.
As a child my parents would play his music every day. I loved the sound of his songs and it motivated me to learn English to be able to understand what he was saying. Now I teach English. All thanks to Kenny Rogers.
This is so heart-warming to watch. I’m over here almost turning 14 in December and I honestly prefer old music then music today. That is because the music back then was like listening to an angel sing, unlike now. I will always have an old soul, and I am very proud of it.
Girl, I was a little kid when I first heard this song back in the 80's. It was the studio version, and I had the same reaction. I feel you. I love him so much.
One thing I didn’t say in my previous comment that has to be said. The foresight of the brilliant and equally talented Lionel Richie; to have known in his heart that a Kenny Rogers needed to record this song;;;; pure brilliance! Hats off to another Legend and thank you Lionel Richie for being so brilliant and seeing what you did with this incredible song!
Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" was definately a once in a generation voice & is sadly missed...My Grandmother introduced me to his music at a young age & we always used to sing & dance to his hit "The Gambler"...R.I.P. Kenny Rogers..It was time to fold'em.
When he sings... “In my eyes, I see no one else but you There's no other love like our love And yes, oh yes, I'll always want you near me I've waited for you for so long”. I just melt
Your emotions are genuine. Stay true to your feelings. Kenny was a one of a kind artist. Not only did he have such an amazing voice, but he help so many out in his long career. I'm from Southeast Missouri, USA. Kenny opened the Kenny Rogers foundation here in Sikeston, Missouri that helped out so many disabled children and is still going strong today. His passing was a heartbreak for many, but his voice and beautiful songs will live on forever. RIP Kenny. You are missed greatly! Thank you for the music you have left us! May God bless your soul.
When he died I was crushed. I realized that when I heard him as a little girl, his music defined how I thought a man was supposed to love a woman. A bit of that hope went with him💔
I listen to this song and I love to watch ppl reaction to it. Lady gives me chills every time I hear it. To be loved likes he’s expressing is a blessing to his lady. Love it. Love your reaction.
No need to apologize. This is what being human IS! We are supposed to feel things when we listen to great music, and also when people we respect have passed away. Kenny was a great songwriter too, but this one was written by Lionel Ritchie. Some other Kenny tunes: Islands In the Stream (written by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees!), Through the Years, The Gambler, and so on but this one is probably his most romantic.
Kenny was bkessed with a unique voice,in that there were different tunes within his main tone,we were blessed to have him. And thank you,you give more meaning to his song. R.I.P. Gambler...rest with God.
He was amazing. He had an extremely soothing voice. I would recommend the studio (not live) versions of "You Decorated My Life" and "Through the Years" and "She Believes In Me" by him. They are just as beautiful.

I was so saddened when he passed, he was such a nice guy in real life. In the song he was speaking to you and the words touched the heart. I'm glad we have these memories to cherish! I loved your tears, your reaction, they were heartfelt!
Thank you 🙏
He was. I miss him. I am his former postal carrier when he lived in Atlanta Ga before he moved to Athens. I loved his twins too. I cried when he passed
@@sujatasinghal3404 yes he was.
Yes, there was an arena full of swooning women, lol. Don't be embarrassed, it was an awesome reaction.
Thank you soo much ❤️
This song is from 1980.
This is exactly what music should do to us. Not just cry, but make us connect deeply with our emotions🙌🏼✌🏼
Don't ever apologize for being you. I wish I knew more people like you, everyone I know has gotten hard through the years. It's refreshing seeing someone that still feels
Awww thank you so much for watching 🙏❤️
A Beautiful Song written by Lionel Richie and Sung by the Iconic Legend Kenny Rogers, Gone too Soon 🙏🏻🕊️🦋
Can you imagine yourself at the studio when Rogers and Richie recorded this masterpiece? I am confident that they knew exactly what they had created...a true gift to humanity. Your emotional response is genuine and please embrace that quality within you. You are fortunate that you are able to have these strong emotions. Trust your feelings always. Rest In Peace Kenny. You are still singing to us every day and forever.
Dave Enyart thank you 🥰
Well, Richie was in the toilet busy writing the second verse while Rogers was recording the first one...

They don't sing Love Songs like they used to they should sing more Love songs like that
You’re so right
So sad he passed.....
Kenny Rogers that man could sing ! Amazing !
RIP Kenny. You were a true legend and will always be remembered.
One of the most genuine reactions i ever saw here on you tube. You have a beautiful tender heart, and this song certainly brings that out. Certain songs do that to me as well.
Awwww thank you so much for the kind word 🙏❤️
Don’t feel bad. You are not the first person that song sung by that man has brought to tears.
Kenny had some serious mojo. One of the best.
Thanks so much for watching 🙏❤️
Now THAT was a Love Song.
Another old love song with killer lyrics is John Denver’s “Annie’s Song.”
That song was simply the best. All women become Annie with the right man.
How lovely. What is your mother tongue may I ask?
@@maryamkim1281 Spanish is my native tongue
We have lost a Legend. Kenny Rogers has such a powerful voice. He gave a wonderful musical legacy as a gift to all of us.
One of my favorite songs RIP Kenny Rodgers
Reminds me how huge he was in the 70's and 80's. He crossed over pop and country.
This is so heart-warming to watch. I’m over here almost turning 14 in December and I honestly prefer old music then music today. That is because the music back then was like listening to an angel sing, unlike now. I will always have an old soul, and I am very proud of it.
Thanks for watching hun ❤️🙏
You might want to listen to ELO, Traveling Wilburys, Beatles and Moody Blues as well
Your reaction was natural, this is a beautiful song sung by one of the greatest singers of all time. R.I. P Kenny
“She Believes in Me” is also a great song to react to.
Karsten Huehn thanks fam, will check that out too❤️
And Through the Years
Also check out Crazy and I Don't Need You. Kenny was the best! I cried like I lost a relative when he passed.
Girl, I was a little kid when I first heard this song back in the 80's. It was the studio version, and I had the same reaction. I feel you. I love him so much.
Now that song really 'gets to me'
We lost Kenny about 4 months ago...a true and great performer....crossover of many genre'
It’s the kind of love we all want . But can’t find
Some songs make me 😭, bless those singers who touch souls like that
😔😔
Truth!
Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" was definately a once in a generation voice & is sadly missed...My Grandmother introduced me to his music at a young age & we always used to sing & dance to his hit "The Gambler"...R.I.P. Kenny Rogers..It was time to fold'em.
My teenage son and his mates listen to his songs
RIP Kenny Rogers
Saw him in concert in the early 80's, my girlfriend dragged me there and I'm glad she did.
Awwww😊😊😊....
When he sings... “In my eyes, I see no one else but you
There's no other love like our love
And yes, oh yes, I'll always want you near me
I've waited for you for so long”. I just melt
Every woman deserves a love like this...
Awwww he’s truly a legend😔... thank you so much for watching ❤️🥰
Kenny Rogers A Legend
Goosebumps for days! So many many years later, I still get them.
When he died I was crushed. I realized that when I heard him as a little girl, his music defined how I thought a man was supposed to love a woman. A bit of that hope went with him💔
🥺🥺
My mom told me how she met him at a show and told me how cold his hand was when she shook it
Yessir!
Truly, Kenny Rogers was a natural in what he does and will not be forgotten. Thank you for sharing his song.
I saw him in concert in the 80’s. He was so handsome & was quite the singer.
He was amazing. He had an extremely soothing voice. I would recommend the studio (not live) versions of "You Decorated My Life" and "Through the Years" and "She Believes In Me" by him. They are just as beautiful.
Noted fam... thank you so much for watching
Kenny Rogers is everything!!!! I grew up with his music. He left so much beautiful music! I’m glad to see younger people enjoying his work!
A timeless piece that touches everyone's heart.
You would enjoy his duet with Dolly Parton - Islands In The Stream.
Written by the The Bee Gees!
I was going to suggest that, you beat me to it. But I do agree.
And "You Can't Make Old Friends" with Dolly
My Uncle sang this to his bride to be as she walked down the aisle on their wedding day 30 years ago (they’re still married). My uncle also has the most beautiful voice too. Not one dry eye in the entire church! ♥️♥️♥️
