  • Herbert Khaury's (Tiny Tim's) interview with Fancy Ray on his Minneapolis Public Access Television show. Subjects covered in the interview are his rise and fall from the spotlight, as well as his outlook on religion and marriage. Also interviewed is Tiny's third wife, the one and only Sue Khaury. Thanks to Hard To Find Films for providing me with a copy of this footage. I do not claim ownership or copyright of this video.

Look up the details that happened the night he died. He was totally abused and disrespected by a third rate high school band director and I believe the stress of that night lead to his death. I’m a pretty tough guy and I cried when I read the details of what he endured and if there is a hell I hope that son of a bitch Robert Elledge is suffering in it .

I've not seen Fancy Ray since leaving Minneapolis. "My, my, my...yes, yes, yes!". I spoke to Mr. Tim for two hours on an airplane in the early 80s. He knew every song ever written! I'm glad I wasn't scared to speak to him because as you see here, he was not weird at all and I found him very articulate and very friendly.

I've been watching a lot of 'Tiny Tim's interviews lately. I'm an old guy and I'm just catching up on some background on him. There are two things that stand out to me most of all; The first is his surprising devotion to the Christian faith. I don't know why but he never struck me as a committed semi-fundamentalist. The other thing that stands out seems to be his incredible memory: He not only knew a mountain of songs and who wrote them, he seems to have had a total recall for calendar dates too. His memory powers are really quite astonishing. I suspect he might have had some condition which allowed him to be the way he was: I would guess he was somewhere on the Autism spectrum. A fascinating guy. And a great interview by Fancy Ray.

One thing that I like about Tim is how he's angry about lying, and you can tell it's not just because the newspaper did it to him personally, but because he's angry about lying IN GENERAL, which I believe all moral people should be. It's how you know he wasn't one of those super phony Christians that are so common. They like to put on airs in order to pretend they're holy, but their actions speak for themselves. Tim was the real deal in so many ways. He was always honest, even when it would cause people to judge him or see him as an oddball. Style-wise, he was way ahead of his time. I've also heard that even though he didn't have much, he was a very generous man with the little he did have.

Tiny Tim, had no fear or embarassment about talking about God. I read his father was a Maronite priest. Meaning he was Eastern Rite Catholic. God Bless Tiny Tim. His childhood and having a father who was a priest may have influenced him in so many ways. He was not afraid to profess Jesus Christ. A smart and intelligent man. With a lot of heart and love. Him speaking about God here around 9:30 was pretty intense. Take heed.

His mother was an Orthodox Jew from lutowiska Poland and her father was a rabbi She married a Christian. She named her son Herbert who became known as tiny Tim. In Judaism if you have a Jewish mother you are automatically Jewish so he is Jewish. He decided to adopt his father’s Christian faith

I never knew how much in common I had with him. He actually played in a small nightclub years ago in my neighborhood. I was so surprised to see his name on the sign. I didn't go but probably should have. I didn't understand talent the way I do now. I remember in each interview how he talked about god and I agree with him. I kept thinking for a while now that maybe covid 19 is a result of gods anger with our sins and forgetting god. Now this interview all those years ago he said the same thing. He always had interesting things to say about music also. It's ashamed he died. I also didn't know that he could sing in a lower register , apart from the falsetto on tip toe through the tulips. It was nice. He sounded like those singers on the old black and white movies.

You’re wrong. That is indeed a ukulele. A ‘banjolele’ or a banjo ukulele is shaped like a banjo and looks similar to a banjo but is a lot smaller and has four strings like a ukulele. Do a search for the well known British artist, George Formby.
