- In this video, I review / unbox the signature edition Dutch Shaeffer Predator knife licensed by Hollywood Collectibles. Predator is my all time favorite movie!! I also really enjoyed the new movie in the series, Prey. Featuring the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger as well as an amazing cast of action stars, this machete was something that I had to have. It comes with a certificate and collector's edition plaque which can be mounted ad displayed on a wall The famous "Stick Around" scene is probably what this knife is known best for as well as Billy's Last Stand. As movie replicas go, this one is top notch. This edition can be purchased from multiple vendors and I purchased mine from Master Cutlery.

I have the one with frost grain printed on it that I got back in the late 90s. super sharp now, very heavy and rock solid. Very capable of real damage

I have the same one....They are OK, BUT nothing like the Jack Crain machetes used in the movie....I think, at least 3 characters had one in the film...Although these are not very movie accurate, I still think they have a place in any collection. :)

I would like to figure out how to show the version I have of this machete which is just one part of the LSS used in the movie. Jack's LSS series which stands for Life Support System actually had 5 of his offerings in the original Predator movie. The LSS Predator machete actually made a few cameo appearances in some of the other Predator movies . I actually own one made by Jack Crain. I also own the LSS-1 which is the survival knife also used in the movie.
The limited edition you have btw is a somewhat close copy but there are some differences between the actual Crain versions and the replica versions.
But what you have here is still rather cool nevertheless.

I forgot to add, if you are looking for a decent user believe it or not there are several knife makers in Pakistan who make everything from faithful copies to fancier versions. They run about $100.00 + with S&H . Two years ago I had one made up to use. Obviously didn't wish to beat up the very expensive ones I own.
I have not checked for several years now to see if Jack Crain is still around and making custom knives anymore. I do know Arizona custom knives gets a few of his knives in every once and awhile.

Bet it's a "Gil Hibben" wall hanger from Budk. How come no one ever listed the type of steel used, and when and if they do, it's usually mid grade, cheap chinese steel that has been hardened but not tempered or annealed?

Does make me wonder if there’s someone who makes a legit, useable version of these knives. Would love to get a legit Gil Hibben Rambo 3 knife (or the Big John prototype from Rambo 4) made of proper steel and construction to be useable. I already got a Vaughn Neeley made, Jimmy Lile LLC Mission knife from Rambo 2, as well as a genuine (albeit blemished so I got a good discount) Pohl Force Mk-9 from Last Blood.

@@theurgeartifacts Yeah. My Vaughn Neeley Rambo knife cost $2500, but damn is it a quality knife. Very useable, blade is made of CPM154 steel, fit and finish is immaculate, the hollow handle is perfectly strong for real use, it’s a legit useable knife while also being a beautiful piece of movie memorabilia. The Pohl Force Mk-9 is also an awesome knife. It says it’s blemished though I honestly couldn’t tell, so I just got it for a nice discount that’s also still a fantastically useable knife.
Only missing a Gil Hibben knife. I know he’s still around but the Rambo knives aren’t in stock anymore nor is it listed on his Made to Order page, sadly. Dunno if he’s still making them. Would love to see if anyone else is.

"Hollow handle"? you mean it's not a full tang construction, so the blade is attached to the handle. That means the attachment point is also a weak spot where it will break under stress.
CPM154 is pretty standard.
CPM S45VN, not as much.
If you haven't yet and really like high quality knives, ck out Spartan Blades, TOPS knives and Toor Knives. There are many others, but those 3 consistently put out excellent knives for reasonable prices. And designed by real Green Berets, Rangers, Raiders and SEALs for use by other JSOC operators not just props.

The website I got it from doesn’t have it anymore but others still do! If you do a google search, you will definitely find it and it shouldn’t be overly expensive either. It’s awesome 👍🗡

The knife Sonny uses to cut himself is NOT this knife. He uses a large Bowie knife. If you look closely you can see the tip has that classic Bowie knife curve, whereas this knife has no curve. Just an observation.
Hmm, I am pretty sure that this is the same knife (or meant to be) that both Dutch and Billy use. I know what you mean by the curve, but I think that is just the camera angle of the knife in the Billy clip.
