Thank you, Fathers! Many of us, even cradle Catholics, are poorly catechized about the Mass. I hope you can consider producing episode(s) to walk us through the mass, to help us better understand and appreciate every part of it (maybe include the appropriate gestures or postures of the lay during key parts of the mass). God bless you, Godsplaining Friars! 😊

Thank you! I went through a situation like this in the summer where a friend of mine who is Catholic went back to mass with me but hadn’t gone in a while and I explained to her where it was best to wait to go to communion after confession and she got mad at me and kept on insisting on taking the bread. I explained to her what the meaning of the host is in the mass and she still didn’t want to understand and hasn’t gone back to mass ever since.

Get to a Dominican Mass if you can! They're the best! 🙏💖

Very good timing with this video!
In about two weeks (28th, St Jude!), I have a mass intention for the mother of an extremely lasped Catholic coworker, and said coworker is bringing her children and non believing husband along. Have NO IDEA how they even agreed to come out! I guess sometimes you just have to make a fool of yourself for Christ, and throw yourself out there in knowledge that He will do what needs to be done in order to draw others to Him.
Pay no attention to the fact that Tarshish seems a lot nicer than Nineveh most of the year!
Hoping and praying that something will resonate with this family!

What's the point? It is impossible to become Catholic. Have been in OCIA for four months. Drive two hours round trip to make the trip. Attend mass, reconciliation, and adoration. Have been attending Mass since April. Spoken to the Priest and he has signed off that I understand the Eucharist. It's another six months of classes till Confirmation. I am not going to make it. My Episcopal Church kicked me out and suddenly I am not receiving communion. My mental health is taking a nose dive. The Church just shrugs their shoulders and says - wait six months. It is a bar I cannot meet. I am giving up and just accepting a miserable life without Jesus in the Eucharist. The Catholic Church is the Church, so there are no other options. I cannot make the two hour weekly drive and classes as badly as my anxiety is going. And the Church just cares about a class.

Have you talked to your priest? Maybe you can occasionally attend online so you’re not driving as far?
Stay the course! The sacraments are everything. Saying a prayer for you.

Take it to a priest, take to to another priest, take it to the Bishop if you have to do so. Don't give up, though. For goodness' sake, the early Saints died for the Eucharist, and you refuse to make a two hour drive? I understand how tough things like that can be, so don't take this as crude or defensive, but I frankly don't understand how that would even be an option. All that aside, you're right for pointing out the issues that you're having. I, as a Catholic, am appalled that it takes so long for some conversions and marriages, etc. There should be a more efficient process in place, and that's a failure on the part of the priests and bishops involved. All you can do is take it in stride, knowing that Christ is with you on your journey to the Church. God bless.
