I suffer with depression and anxiety, I've lost everything. I'm going to be homeless soon, but I don't look at it as a bad thing. Bushcraft and wild camping has given me the skills to be able to live and live well. When I go out camping in the woods it allows me to be me. I definitely struggle to pull myself out of a bad mood, I've gotten a little better at it as I've gotten older and recognised it as a problem. I'm very fortunate that my wife is a true optimist, she often helps to bring me out of a bad mood. I find going for a walk tends to help lift my mood, even if it's just into our local town to run a few errands. I work from home so I think getting outside and having a change of scenery is what does it.
At the moment I'm struggling from panic disorders which stop me from even leaving my flat. I was always out in the woods and exploring until lately. But watching your vids helps. And hopefully one day can bring me that drive to venture past my front door.
Greetings, my favorite camping moment this summer was along the Yellowstone River between Livingston Montana and Yellowstone NP. I was the only one camping at this spot along the river. Watched an eagle swooping down into the river catching trout. Deer were coming out to feed in fields. As the sun was setting I had snow capped peaks of the Rocky Mountain range to take in in the most beautiful wild place. Awsome! Scott F.
I used to really suffer from feeling how you described, like you've gotta sleep off the bad feeling. If I'm in a bad mood that I can't seem to shift I find I need to get lost in something. Bushcraft videos work really well for me, but so does getting on the exercise bike and watching a few episodes of a TV series. My mind is then thinking about the TV and the exercise, which means there's not much capacity left to mull on what's got me in a bad mood. Alternatively, sometimes I just go hard on things I'm thankful for, think about good times with the kids, nice stuff I've got coming up, the important people in my life. It sounds cheesy but sometimes it does the trick. Finally, sometimes the classic 'have a word with yourself' works, do you really wanna spend the next 6 hours being miserable and waste another little bit of your life being unhappy, not always easy but sometimes does the trick.

Hey brother, I just wanted to say man, you're videos give me a wonderful window to peace in a stressful world. I absolutely love the thought of being out there doing what you do, but I have some physical health stuff that would make it more difficult. Thankfully, I can grab a beer and just chill watching through that window, and relaxing with you! Peace bro. 🙏💪👊
Beautiful mate, really felt this one. Yeah hard to shake off bad moods somedays... modern society and lifestyle doesn't offer the best coping/healing mechanisms. But you get out there and you reset your soul. Much love brother!
Dude... I have that exact issue. I use the excuse of going to bed early as an eraser so to speak when I am in a brain funk. Mild depression and lifelong anxiety survivor. Dealing with this for so long, I can feel it coming. The quicker I notice it the better. Cheers brother and thanks for talking about it. It does help
Thanks bro you videos have helped me a lot to remember who I was before. Now I am much more grateful for simple things like just being out in nature. Love ❤
Just magic, boss, lost count of the smiles and good vibes, incredibly packed into just 28 minutes or so, bloody brilliant. Grumpy moods eh? Hmm, sounds familiar. I'm cheating a bit as I've just had a large red wine, (microwaved for 30 seconds, maker's secret 😅😅) - but...walk the dog, I do some meditation stuff and zen breathing if I'm really stumped - and I watch fantastic videos like yours like right now. Big smiles, thank you so much. 🤗🤗
Mate you've smashed it again. The perfect balance of zen and bushcraft, gorgeous forest in this one too👌🏻 to be fair though I would have had way too much anxiety to be sleeping under a half-fallen tree, haha.
Best camp this summer for me was at the top of the Falls of glomach on the Cape Wrath Trail during a 260 mile hike in the highlands of Scotland, epic sunset was like something out of middle earth. Storm clouds burning many shades of red and Orange, 10 minutes later the heavens opened with torrential downpours and sketchy thunder and lightning. Slightly scared by mother nature's wrath but cosy under my tarp tucked into my bivvy, feeling alive and in a happy place. Thanks for the awesome vids you put out dude, your openness with mental health and being outdoors has helped and inspired me to cope and come to terms and seek help with my own issues dealing with trauma. Good luck on your hike bro. Peace love and happy trails Al
Woke up this morning stressed and angry thats ptsd for you ,so its time for a night in woods , starting to become a fan boy of yours , keep up the great videos pal.
I do love a thunderstorm. Shaka! I took a walk in a wood I'd never seen before. I was on a recce and saw a lot of deep floor litter and not much evidence of man. It was just 500 metres from a local B road and couldn't hear anything but birds and distant deer. Magical. I'll go back there soon, check it out. I reckon a plough point would be the wtg.
@@EastAnglianBushcraft will update you. Will be trying to get out more soon, work gets in the way unavoidably, civil service is shit sometimes but working from home is boss. Best camping trip this summer me and a mate bikepacked across the width of the North island cape to cape (the kopiko trail) 1300kms over 15 days wild camping in the bush and by rivers cooking on the fire. Good times. Hope your hike goes well. Take it easy Jonno
Another fantastic video Craig. I totally get what said about those moods. You pretty much hit the nail as to how I've been the past week or so. I know because of the type of work I do, it is something that is very common. But unfortunately not enough people feel comfortable enough to talk about it and sadly suffer in silence. I've found that being outdoors and nature has been something thats good for both physical and mental wellbeing. I've promised myself a bushwalk after work today. My best outdoor experience this year has been my first trip out on my kayak on my local river. I've lived in my area for 10 years, but realised there is still so much fot me to explore. 🤟

Peace bro. 🙏💪👊
Yaaaay Craig's at it again! A bit of much needed light in these dark times. Thank you for you brother 🤙
Beautiful mate, really felt this one. Yeah hard to shake off bad moods somedays... modern society and lifestyle doesn't offer the best coping/healing mechanisms. But you get out there and you reset your soul. Much love brother!
Much love back Dude !!! 👊👊 legend mate thanks dude
Wicked video mate, respect for bringing up mental health once again
Yeaaah dude 💪😎 cheers bud 👊👊🔥
Thanks brother keep digging deep mate 💚👊
Thanks a lot mate !!
Mate you've smashed it again. The perfect balance of zen and bushcraft, gorgeous forest in this one too👌🏻 to be fair though I would have had way too much anxiety to be sleeping under a half-fallen tree, haha.
👊👊👊
Happy days! New content
Field mushrooms are the only wild ones I like,oh and hopefully chicken of the woods when I find and try it
Great video shaka see you when you get baka enjoy your walk pal..

Hi Craig , That Food sounds Good !🙂
That grub at the beginning got my like immediately.. Absolutely perfect natural daytime meal. Cheers mate, hope you're good. :)
Maybe sauté the mushrooms with a little garlic pepper salt butter,a steak 🥩maybe a potato. Another Excellent video bro
Nice one mate! Good to see you at the camp again! 🤙
You too bro !! 👊💪 will catch your video of it today mate
Peace love and happy trails
Al
Sorry forgot...Best of luck with the walk and bringing mental health to an open discussion! Love your channel bro! 👊
Thanks bud 💚💪
Man, that food looks AMAZING 😍 need to get back to the woods soon! Wanna treat myself to a lavvu and stove for winter camps!

Thanks Peter 👊👊
🤙 Get in the car and blear out the music always helps me even if it's just the 20min drive home from work
Woke up this morning stressed and angry thats ptsd for you ,so its time for a night in woods , starting to become a fan boy of yours , keep up the great videos pal.
Sounds pukka mate 👌👌🤤👊
@@EastAnglianBushcraft will update you. Will be trying to get out more soon, work gets in the way unavoidably, civil service is shit sometimes but working from home is boss. Warm and dry without other people's germs and bs or office politics which I can't stand. Worst than a guard room mate. I keep telling myself 4 years to pension and I'm gone. Van, travel.
Awesome video bud, I love doing a cheeky overnighter camped by my local river.
🤙🏼
👌👌
awesome again Craig great seeing you being so successful because your a great lad with great knowledge 👍
Best experience this summer was wild swimming at my local spot at sunset with kingfishers and deer! Love your videos!
Yes Bro love this I have Complex PTSD i describe that feeling when your stuck for a while it’s log bad weather a dark cloud comes over but it always passes. Yes I’m always scanning for danger weighing everyone up trust is massive issue for me but when I do trust I have your back.
That food is banging bro I’m gonna cook a big eats up like that ha! Always keep talking about it as I find it makes me stronger 💪🏼
Well said mate 👊👊
@@EastAnglianBushcraft we are warriors a problem shared is a problem halved. Talking about it is a sign of inner strength not a weakness so lads and lasses be proud to talk about it be very proud of yourselves because that’s the hardest part you have just cracked. Keep talking! 💪🏼💪🏼
Another crackin video Craig, cheers. Best camp of the summer has to be The Bushcraft Show for us ( my lad Cameron) we have only just got into wild and bushcraft camping and it was a blast meeting other like minded people. Passed your camp several times but you looked busy. Hope to say hi next year if youre going bud. 🤙
Hey Paul ah that was an awesome weekend !! Yeah make sure to say hello next time dude ! 👊👊 if I can get the time off work I’ll go like yeah 😎
@@EastAnglianBushcraft Brilliant , look forward to saying hi. Throw a sicky 😂😂
Another awesome video. That food looked wicked 🤙
Awesome channel brudda. Keep up the good work man. I'm from New Zealand if ever your down these ways so much remote wild camping in the South island. Amazing scenery here. Best camping trip this summer me and a mate bikepacked across the width of the North island cape to cape (the kopiko trail) 1300kms over 15 days wild camping in the bush and by rivers cooking on the fire. Good times.
Hope your hike goes well. Take it easy Jonno
Sounds so sick bro 👌👌💯🤙
Another great vid Craig! 🤙
Nice one Craig have a cracking time on the walk good luck mate atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍🤟🤟
Thanks Buddy 💚👊
🤙Yes mate, another excellent video, makes my morning cuppa that bit better while watching 🤙🤙
Thanks a lot mate ! 👊
