Lou Brock and Joe Morgan are my favorite baseball players of all time, and both of them have passed on. I just want to say that as far a baseball, we all know Lou was incredible. I remember as a kid I was at a Cinncinatti game and Lou came over to shake our hands and sign baseballs, what a true class act of a person.

Lou Brock is right about the baseball attitude in St. Louis. I’m not only a Cardinals fan but I also work for them too. To us Cardinal fans, we’re not satisfied with just a big inning because even a team that has a big inning can lose the game. We want to win the game no matter what.

He was a always a difficult out with his left side, “open” batting stance. Few people know that in addition to being a base stealing wonder, he also had surprising power for someone so relatively small. He is one of the few human beings to ever hit a home run over the Center Field fence at the old Polo Grounds in Manhattan, in a game against the Mets in 1962. A distance of over 500 feet!!

I saw him play many times in St Louis. The normal chatter in the ballpark subsided when Lou Brock stepped into the batter's box. Something exciting was about to happen.

Lou Brock for Ernie Brolieo is still considered one of the most lopsided trades in baseball history. No disrespect to Rickey Henderson, but Rickey would steal when leading by 5 or 6 runs. If Brock would’ve tried that, he would’ve been spiked or thrown at his next AB. It just wasn’t done back then. Lou said he could’ve easily stolen 100 bases a year, but he didn’t like getting thrown at. He and Gibby, my favorites of all time.
