One thing I noticed about the Dragon God was how it never seems to accurately gauge where the player is without looking at it directly, even if it saw it before and knows their last location. This would imply there is something in the Dragon God's vision, which I think is blindness. I think the Dragon God can only see through heat, which the player evokes when he isn't covered by anything to hide their body heat. This means that the Dragon God is unfamiliar with how the layout looks, and is why it is trapped beneath an area filled with fire and lava, since it confuses him. This would also explain why it doesn't just destroy the ballistas, it doesn't even see it since they evoke no heat and only destroys it in retaliation once he knows something was shot there. This is also why he doesn't breath fire often, since it overloads his senses, instead relying on his fists to accurately hit his target. When you shoot both ballistas, those trapping both of his arms, he is desperate and breaths out his last bits of heat out of him, albeit not as powerful due to his weakened state.
I read up some lore and apparently that dragon god in the tutorial is a different one, so there’s 2 dragon gods in this game 😨. Imagine having to “fight” 2 of them.
It would be hilarious if the remake keeps this boss fight the same. Though once you think you’ve won then the Dragon God gets back up and drags you down to a giant arena for a real fight. Because all you did was injure it enough to really piss it off.
In Metro Exodus DLC (I’m going somewhere with this trust me), there’s this Boss enemy called the BatWing, you fight it 3 times, killing it on the third. But on the third encounter it losses its wings and charges at the player in rage. So I think you could have a Cleric Beast or Bloodletting style fight with Dragon God if you really wanted. Though as somebody who is a big fan of the Demon’s Souls, I’m not sure how much I want them to change things around. On one hand, new content and fleshed our areas. On the other, you’re touching (and potentially screwing up) what is essentially a classic on par with Dark Souls.

Lore-wise, I love this fight. The miners constructed a massive temple to contain and worship the dragon, but also realized that at some point they might have to kill their god. Getting to use what's likely the greatest magical weapons of a now dead society to hurl hundred meter long spears into the thing is just fantastic from a lore perspective. ... Unfortunately from a gameplay perspective, its boring and easy as fuck. A complete disservice to a boss with as cool of a design as this. I hope bluepoint makes things more interesting, but somehow keeps the magical railguns.

Well, this won't make the fight better, but the explanation is that some monks built the temple around him to worship the dragon god, they then realized that if he were to escape, everyone would be fucked. That being said, they built two magical ballistas in the chamber that are the most powerful magical weapons in this world lore.
This boss fight is so gimmicky, and I still love it, the theme song, the fact that when you unlock the other arch stones it plays a variation of dragon gods theme, man, nothing quite like it.

Wow... this is a let down. They should make this one boss at least like Sotc bosses but deadlier.
earrape
Celbit?
How couldn't he move
It honestly looks ALOT better in the remake
This bossfight is very boring, but the boss is very cool
God of war bossfight
I could never stand that. On higher NG, one shot punches and fire breath.
This is the most fucktarded boss in the entire series. I've finished every other souls game with platinum trophies and I'm looking up a guide to know how to get past this luck based shit fest. This isn't hard, it's just annoying. Run forward. Pause. Stand behind column, oh nope, you were hit with the random palm slam. Oh nope, you were burnt by his flame that doesn't know where the safe/danger zone is. Just awful. I thought bed of chaos was bad.
stupidest boss fight imo....why the fk would a winged dragon stay in a place where two stakes are, which he can clearly see, that can kill him?
REMAKE BETTER CHANGE THIS BATTLE... I WANT BIG BOY TO BE ONE PUNCHING US!! AND FLYING METEOR DROPS!!
Leave some opening areas of course to attack him...but if you get hit by his big moves u dead....
I don't kno 😭all i see is fuckin tik tok adverts
i fucking HATE having to scroll deep down to find stuff for the original game and not the crusty dollar store gettyimages ass remake, i shit you not i had to go to the 3rd page of google on a search of "dragon god boss fight" to find this
