Thank you Sir! Excellent review, although I felt sorry for your tree branches, but I did appreciate the power demo. My wife is visiting family, she'll love seeing the trimmer when she gets back (and the hedges will be fearful). Best wishes
Glad it was helpful! It's definitely better to prune tree branches with something that produces a cleaner cut. I'd been meaning to take pruning shears to those low hanging branches for a while, and I only used the hedge trimmer first to show it's capabilities.
Thank you for another fantastic review - right to the point, great audio, great video quality. I would be interested in knowing how the blades do over time and how to sharpen them once they dull. Hoping to pick one up from Ace here soon. Aloha!
Still works great for me after a year. I haven't needed to sharpen the blades yet, but it should be pretty much the same process as any other hedge trimmer.
The bar is lighter, but the trimmers feel about the same weight overall. The difference is that you have less mass cantilevered out away from your body, which makes it a little easier to control.
I haven't needed to, but the EGO manual does mention oiling the blade with light machine oil every 50 hours of operation to prolong the blade life. Seeing that I only run this thing for a half hour about once a month during the spring/summer, that's going to be a long time before I need to.
I purchased the same one, after (one)use when I was done I cleaned it like I do all my tools, the next day I went to use it and the blades were all Rusted already do you think that’s normal? Actually, looks horrible after One use ! I never leave any tools outside and I make sure they’re clean and dry after every use. Should I be using WD-40 on the blades After every use? wondering are you experiencing the same ? by the way great video !!
Mine still looks pretty new after two cutting sessions, and I didn't clean it afterwards. My old HT2400 had a lot of pitch buildup and a little rust (as seen in the video), but it's 8 years old. What cleaning solution did you use? Any bleach in it? Or did you use a non-stainless wire brush to scrub it? Both of those would cause corrosion on stainless steel.
Thank you for getting back to me, I just took a clean and dry cloth and make sure it was clean and dry. then took the blower and blew the blades just in case to remove any dirt and of course I used WD-40 and that was it i just don’t understand why it looks so rusty. I still have time to return it back to the store, but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna just keep it.Thank you again !

Thank You sooo much for this helpful review! I just bought this along with a new trimmer and saw and need help understanding the nuances.
This will probably be my next EGO purchase.
Just got mine today! Fine addition to my collection

Which part of the blade do u spray? Just thr teeth part? And is WD 40 ok?

Just got one of these and didn’t even realize the keyhole hanging slot, so have a Like 😂
With the new carbon fiber rail, is the new 26" one lighter than the old 24" ?

Do you spray this with any type of oil or grease at all?
I haven't needed to, but the EGO manual does mention oiling the blade with light machine oil every 50 hours of operation to prolong the blade life.

HT2600E and HT 2400E, do they have the same power?
HT2600 is more powerful by far. 1.2" cut capacity vs the .75" cut capacity of the HT2400.
Is it extendable? Can attach pole hedge trimmer ?
No, they make a separate pole hedge attachment for their power head.
Can i ask which one should i buy for the pole attachment for this model? @@DoresoomReviews
