Awesome video, let's make sure those companies that are taking a few mils of metal off every year or two don't gouge us for new decks too often! I wonder if CRC 6026 would work any better or worse. According to the Project Farm tests, it dries and creates a waxy cosmoline coating that doesn't attract dirt and such as much as Fluid Film, but being dragged in dirt roads is different. I use the 6026 for under my truck and the Fluid Film for harder to reach areas as it's a bit thinner and seems to spray better in tough to reach places. This is all really good stuff though and is one of those ounces of prevention!

Thanks for watching! It will technically “dry” but it leaves a slight coating for awhile under there. It doesn’t last super long, I would say applying this stuff a few times a year would be the best option. Just so much moving grass and debris under there when mowing it really beats it up and removes it quick versus applying it to the underside of a vehicle.

I like your video and that product seems to work well. In additioon, put some Mop & Glo in a sprayer and apply it the indercarriage on everthing. The wax in Mop & Glo helps to repel the moisture! Probably a better question (for many of us especially with cheaper “homeowner” machines made of thinner metal) than “does Fluid Film keep the grass clipping from sticking to the deck?” is “does Fluid Film keep the acids and moisture in the grass clippings from penetrating through the oil, paint, and into the steel and causing rust?”. I would say yes. I will be doing a deck clean up and service soon. I know the underside of the deck has surface rust so I plan to wire wheel off the heavy rust and brush on a coat of bar and chain oil onto the bare metal. It tends to be a little “stickier” than Fluid Film.

I never mow when it's even a little wet. I know if you do it for a business, you need to, but for people just mowing their lawns, don't mow when it's wet? Unless you live in England, you should have plenty of dry days to mow and not worry about the deck getting gunked up.

Grass just builds up regardless if it’s wet or not. I haven’t cut this year once when it was even damp and I can tell you I need to clean up under there and put this stuff on again. Unless it hasn’t rained for 4 or 5 months on end then maybe you can get lucky and never have to do any cleaning under there.

You have to realize that he has a 'HIGH END' mower (Kubota), these machines have a 'deeper' deck which makes a BIG DIFFERENCE in how the grass clippings are 'processed' and ejected from the deck chute. Our 'home owner' cheap machines aren't even close! A Kubota is like owning a 'Ferrari Testa Rossa'!!
