Wu Jin Yan is 33 and Wang Xing Yue is 22 however there is no way some young twenty-something actress could be as dynamic as JinYan. It's only through her that Xing Yue is allowed to be confidently masculine without being overbearing. JinYan is a confident, classy, and sensual older woman who is equal to a man and brings it to this drama. JinYan is believable as an older woman and betrayed wife. She's believable as a vengeful ghost. And she's believable as a lover, pawn, partner, and foil to Duke Su. He's believable as a man who is seduced and intrigued. and he can't take his eyes off of her. He's definitely a man who is more interested in a woman who can keep up with his game and even checkmate him at his game. This couple has chemistry and eat up the screen when together. I haven't heard double entendres and banter like that in a long time. Very sexy!

This is phenomenal I am already on my 3rd time in watching it and because you devour episode after episode it got me so frustrated that I stopped watching until they were all out. Even Netflix aired it before it had finished airing in China that's how popular this is. Yet they're saying it wasn't that popular who are they trying to kid ?

i think bc i'm chinese, i get so nitpicky with chinese dramas bc i can understand the dialogue and sometimes it sounds so cringey (or too obviously dubbed) to me, bUT THIS DRAMA HAD ME KICKING AND GIGGLIGN AND INTERNALLY SCREAMING
i absolutely LOVEEEEE how you edited this, and you KNOW i'm a sucker for hand parallels and this ship IS that girl with hand parallels (2:08-2:15 is so pretty!!!!), but the way they've adopted each other mannerisms (like with the fans at 0:51-0:57 or the way they rest their chins in their hands) and the way they LOOK at each other??? you've really captured them so well

The ending is sad. I think Duke Su died in battle but it wasn't shown.
The last scene in battle when he picked up the necklace his wife gave him and put it in his mouth...that horde of soldiers were running toward him while he was the only one/last one standing from his side. So he looked up and that's his imagination seeing his wife waiting for him under that blossomed tree they planted that he had told his wife he was coming back in Spring. That was just his imagination being shown while he was standing there alone against a horde of soldiers running toward him. So basically he probably died because even that scene of his imagination of him riding on his horse to their *promise blossomed tree* where his wife was waiting ...it didn't show him getting off his horse to greet his wife! 💔. So he died protecting The Great Yan with only 100 of his soldiers just like his Father did.
is a happy ending, there's an extra episode where it shows teir married life and they have a child!
