I just bought one of these and used it yesterday, however when I line up the shaft arrow on the edger to the kimbi unit, the blade is horizontal to the ground and not vertical. So I have to hold my motor 90° which is awkward. I noticed that your blade is vertical to the ground when the two arrows meet. I bought the attachment with the hard and blade already on. So do you think at the manufacturer they installed the head 90° incorrectly? Can the tool be used safely without damage on all 360° angles around that shaft?
I think you should be able to easily loosen the bolts holding the gearbox/edger to the end of the kombi shaft, and rotate the gearbox 90 degrees so everything is in line when you use it. Wait, I’m looking at an FS56R trimmer and I was looking at edgers, but I can just get an attachment that goes on to be used as an edger? If so that’s perfect
I’m not 💯 % sure with that model but that’s what I did with my fs91r. I’m sure it would fit on the 56r but Stihl might not recommend a edger attachment on it because of the engine size. But I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I’d call your local Stihl dealer and make sure that engine is powerful enough to run the head.
i bought one of these and ive got to say that im not overly impressed with it enough o want to keep it, it tends to wander of line very easy and its hopeless at cutting new lines in overgrown sidewalks. This is what i wanted it for. $495 down the drain, These are overpriced for what they are, a spade and a manual edger would be better.

That what mine is a FS 56 RC I switch back and forth attachments from weed eater to edger. Love it.

Looks crap. Just get strimmer attachment can do edges and more.
