Brilliant video your Bug looks fantastic and the green looks Ace I’m building this kit myself and not got to the front wheel yet so thanks for the heads up about the part impeding the front wheel. I’ll subscribe to your channel 👍
I am always taken back to my childhood when I see a Bond Bug, as there was a Bond Bug dealership in Hounslow West where I grew up. Nice model - but they should always be orange to me.
That's a lovely job. The colour is definitely 'none more 70's'.👍👍👍 Hearing you say that the chrome paint smelled nice, reminded me, that, in the early 1970's, there was a minor panic about solvent abuse. Airfix tube cement (and I have one, unopened, from that time, which came in a sealed Ford Trimotor kit I got - I was far more pleased to see that than the kit) used to smell of various types of solvent, like Benzine, and Xylene. So, to put kids off sniffing the stuff, what did Airfix do? They changed the formula. It still worked well, but now, it smelled of oranges. Presumably to go with UHU contact adhesive, which smelt of bananas, and Acetone, which smells of peardrops. I'd love to know if that old cement smells of oranges, but I cannot bring myself to open the tube. 😆😆😆
Bit late watching this build, but perhaps an idea for your future builds involving canopies or clear parts... I always use AK Crystal Clear which not only dries clear, but there are no issues with how well it glues to normal plastic. The bonus is that it also has a needle applicator for easy gluing. Ive not used anything else for clear parts since I got it. 👍
It's a pity they made the rear decal for the orange version. They could easily have left that part transparent to show the underlying paint. The end result has still come out good, though.
I know what you mean by the instructions when I built the Airfix P61 Black Widow I always got the turret wrong despite knowing from past experiences that it was the wrong way around.

Enjoyed the nostalgia mate, it does look good in the green.
When I was a kid, in the west end of Newcastle, I’d often see a slime green Bond Bug. Same shade as yours

Had a happy few years living in Isleworth and Southall. Never had a bug though, but had a Reliant Supervan!
Looks quite good in the green
I like the two tone effect. I think you've done really well mate. M
As much as i like the orange the green makes a nice change.

I'm enjoying the smell of Tamiya paint too. Smells of sweet shops.
Nice, I have one to build, so thanks for the info on the steering mechanism.

Thanks for the tip Simon 👍

Good idea! Still, they clash nicely
