Really the worst customer service after i bought Layton and they put Pegasus in my bag instead, then called me a thief after returning to the store having realized they have given me the wrong perfume. took 5 more visits to the store and they even pulled out 5 video recordings from the time of purchase, and not a single one could pick out what the salesman put in my bag (pixelated - far) imagine spending $300 on a perfume and having the salesman call you a thief for his own mistake? then contacting the brand and their observation is "salesman took the box from the left side of drawer where we keep layton so its clear"

Bought PdMs Masculine test collection and first thing I tested was of course Layton. I was blown away as soon as I smelled it. I love oriental scents and to draw the comparison to Versace fragrances I get much more of the sandalwood vibe than the apple. So it actually reminded me more of Oud Noir than Eros.
thanks for beginning to cover the house of PDM! i used to believe that my Layton wasn’t projecting and performing then i got reassurance from ppl over multiple wearings that it was pushing strong. i went nose blind to it pretty early and you might be too. check out herod and pegasus!
Just grabbed Layton. Initially it's reminds me of a Versace Eros with less apple. Brighter on the Mint, almost herbally. Vanilla is still deep and smooth. I enjoy it and think it'sone that'll really grow on me
@@galactichand551 Compared to the Versace Eros EDT; Layton is less sweet/gourmand. So the mint really shines in Layton, slightly herbally. I love Eros but I've worn it so much that the sweetness is kind of sickening these days unless it's really cold out.
Bought it directly from PDM and it arrived in a couple of days. Awesome free shipping and came with 2 samples. I put it on after showering and I still smell it on me after 12+ hrs. Being so niche, I am hoping it's not super popular ... the cost of it is up there and may put many guys off too. I have no idea. The bottle is really nice. This might get me to become some kind of collector lol
It's the geranium that gives the minty slightly "vapour rub" kind of smell. A lot of people assume that geranium smells like a variation of Rose but it actually comes in a variety of forms.
Didn't know what to expect from this but I ordered a tester vial thanks to this video. It instantly reminded me of Thierry Mugler (can't remember if was angel or b men). Not a bad scent but I didn't care for it much.
I dig Layton. I get an almost Vicks Vaporub vibe in the opening so I get what u mean about the cooling sensation lol. I also have Pegasus which is good too. I want Percival maybe Herod but keep hearing the performance on Herod isnt good anymore. Did u get the new improved Sedley or the older one? Itd be good to know how to tell the difference batch wise. Thanks. - Colin
I’m surprised you say it didn’t project so much on your skin. Layton projects like crazy! I made the mistake of using 3 sprays once and boy did I regret it. It filled a conference room hours after and even I was choked out which is very unusual as I get nose blind very easily with fragrances but with Layton, I can smell it all long
I purchased samples of both Layton and Herod however they weren’t labeled. I absolutely in love with one of them and nonplussed about the other. I get a hint of Carlisle in the one I love can you guys tell me which of the two (Herod and Layton) would you say smells more like Carlisle?
Dude I love this fragrance! Whenever I get the chance, I wear it and usually can get a complimeny or two. Nevertheless I wear fragrances for myself and I really love this one. I have the same 3 from parfums de marly, layton, sedley and percival and enjoy them all.
I think people get different openings from Layton. Some people have gotten a mint/alcohol/vapor rub smell, and others have gotten an apple and vanilla opening. For me personally, I did not get any mint smell, I think it might be batches or maybe it's the way the apple, vanilla and other basenotes are mixed? What I got was a soft fresh apple, then a very sweet vanilla, cardamom, sandalwood and pepper bomb. I didn't really get any lavender in here and the violet and jasmine are soft just like the apple (which is not a bad thing because too much floral will make it smell more feminine that what it was originally for, unisex). Overall it's a 9/10! Way much better projection and longevity that creed aventus ever had! Imo, Aventus is not worth the price you pay for, layton is worth better.
He seems to like lighter and fruitier scents, that's why he chose those 3. The other PDM are fairly heavy/dark. Layton Exclusif is my favorite but it might be too dark for you. Good review!
I have a sample of Layton, almost every time I wear Layton when I'm out shopping or in a social situation I get this phenomenon where girls get very close to me sometimes nearly touching. The only other fragrance I have that girls hover around me in a tight orbit is "Luciano Soprani uomo" unfortunately it's been discontinued & it's hard to find.
Just got Layton PDM, and there is a strong resemblance to the Polo Red line (Red Extreme Parfum), and Issey Miyake Nuit D'issey line (Nuit D'issey Parfum). I have never heard a review/er make the comparison?
I like it, but I still don’t fully get the hype. According to Fragcomm, this is a 10/10 and one of the most mass-appealing niche scents of all time. But it’s not even the most mass-appealing PDM in my experience. Almost everyone I know thinks Herod smells better than Layton and almost everyone rates Layton somewhere around 7/10, including myself. Kinda confusing.
I blind bought Layton and it was fucking bomb. Works for me; has lasted 24+ hours when I apply it after I shower and put lotion on my spots. Gets me compliments. Some call it generic or overpriced, but smells so good and it smells expensive too. Love your content Dallas 👍🏼 keep it up ✊🏼
I really love the opening of layton, but the drydown doesn't work with my skin at all. When it dries down it becomes a very sweet and basic vanilla powder on my dry skin, and it doesn't last that much. From the house I really love Godolphin and Percival, and I think that Pegasus has the chance to join them sooner or later. Herod is really nice, but I have the same issues that I have with Layton... better smell when it dries down, but even less duration!
Hey bud.. I watch all your vids.. love parfum de marley.. actually wearing Kalan right now.. strong one.. great proformance. I get so many compliments on pegasus.. think its the sweet almond. Have Shagya as well which is odd.. layton exclusif is nice stronger. More gourmand.. well take care.. keep up the great work
To me,on my skin Layton starts off smelling like the cologne “Pi” for the first couple hrs or so and then it switches up into smelling exactly like the cologne “wanted” after 7.5 hours it went away off my skin. NOW on my shirt,it’s been 12hrs so far and I still got the opening scent of the apple. So yea it’s a good buy. I’d say it’s a 8/10
I see how it comes off as Pi. Definitely a strong opening and somewhat overpowering. I've never used Wanted and can't add anything there. It actually lasted on my inner wrist for about 8.5-9 hours. Usually I only do 2 sprays and it tends to stick with me from the morning until I go to bed, and I still get a hint of it. Solid buy for sure, but quite a few people now wear it so it kind of lost it's Je ne sais quoi. I've also gotten Carlisle and it's pretty incredible (to me it's a deeper and more complex scent than Layton)
Ayyyy my comments is there in the compilation 👌😂 Been waiting a long time. Love it personally and love how it develops and transitions in 3 different stages
I think you're somewhere in southern IL, I'm up in the Chicago area, so we're in the 40's -50's. I'm rocking Carlisle today. I also have Layton, Layton Exclusif, Herod, Pegasus, Sedley and Percival. Buy Carlisle and Herod next. Pegasus rhymes with Coach Platinum, Godolphin, Galloway and Byerley are not good. Darley is too sweet. I've yet to try Oajan or Habdon. Consensus is that they are both good. I have a decant of the latest release, Kalan, and it's not worth the $$$ and I dont care for it. I'm a bit surprised that you think that 8-10 hours is poor performance, especially when you're such a fan boy of Creed, and most of their frags last less than 7 hours. Aventus on me is 4 hours till it's a skin scent, an Millisime Imperial is even less. I get all day with Layton, Herod and Carlisle. I sprayed on Carlisle at 9 AM today and its midnight as I write this and I still get the sweetness of the base wafting around 15 hours later. Most PdM's perform very well for me. Beast mode, really.
The opening smells almost like viks vapor rub, which I think drives some people off. However, after one minute or so, it statts to develop into something really nice. Sweet, citrous, apple-like, vanilla, powdery, which is really well blended. Performance is really good. I can smell myself for quite several hours!
Yess! finally someone, who gets that mint-like note. I was kinda supprised on fragrantica, that there is no mint mentioned in the notes. Unlike you, I get quite a performance from Layton, tho, it somehow doesnt work for me :/ ..too sweet to my taste
To me it smells like a more refined version of givenchy xeryus rouge without that overly strong spicey pepper, combined with the apple vanilla of Eros and the boozy vibe from pure malt. Freaking addicting scent this one is. Catching this scent in the air is heaven. And that drydown is intimate. The drydown is more like xeryus rouge. I wore it overnight and when I woke up it almost smelled like the dry down of sauvage. Is that weird maybe I'm tripping a little.
I tried both layton and layton exclusif... but for me exclusif was way better, more complex and more rich full fragrance. ended up with bottle of exclusif from a dicounter =D
So I finally got me a bottle of Layton! & it’s not what I expected... 😐it smells like vapoRub mix with honey & some hits of vanilla lol but for some odd reason i like smelling it so not bad I guess 😅
Dallas, it looks like your batch 003901 is from January 13 of 2020, with the first number representing the year (0=2020, 9=2019...). My batch of 944805 from October of 2019 is really good and lowers the menthol note which, according to some reviews, was a bit heavy in the 2018 batches. Love this scent and look forward to your review of the other two, especially Sedley (which was re-macerated for 2020 for improved longevity).
thank u for this review. i have gotten like four samples of this and i don't get it lol sometimes i LOOOVE this one but other times its just ok like ...meh lol it's so strange! usually i'm love or hate but this one is incredibly made but maybe it's the hype that makes me think i should like it more 🤷♂️ and i agree this is best in fall or like cool weather/hoodie weather for sure
This one reminds me of Hugo Boss Bottled and Azzaro Wanted By Night. I bought a bottle and it came with a sample on the side. I tried the sample before opening it and I didn't like it. Now I'm stuck with a brand new sealed 125ml bottle of it.
I only have Herod! Awesome stuff I am unable to sniff Layton. I was going to pick this up this year but ended up going with Chanel Allure Sport. Safe bet since I always read mixed reviews for Layton.
so strange that a lot of ppl say the dry down is sickly sweet. It get's darker and more musty for me. Almost like an ambergris(don't know if it's a official note) with the cardamom poking in and out. It's a scent that changes a lot throughout the coarse of one wear. I just don't get people that compare this with clubbing tonka bombs. Must be batch variation. Could also be I got an old sample. It's carded not a decant.
Finally it's there great review Dallas thanks, I'm getting mine next weekend and can't wait to wear it. This will be one of my new signature scents for sure it was love at first sniff for me and I think it's good for spring/summer as well.
I have the same batch code man!!! I have tried decants from others batches as well and let me tell you they smell the same. This fragance is weird because some days i gives better performance than others. Also sometimes it smells more minty. It is a masterpiece but it varies in how it behaves.
@@ChaosFragrances I've been really skeptical about purchasing fragrances from these online stores. My concern is fakes. With you purchasing that many fragrances, have you honestly received zero fakes?
For me it reminds me of oud wood. It is not particularly similar scent, but the sweetness and the woodiness is kinda in the same direction and has a similar feel to it. I’d say it is more mass appealing because of the sandal woodiness instead of the oud from oud wood.
I paid $130 for 4.2 oz of layton off Ebay. There are deals out there, just have to fish for them btw about the minty note , I heard that I was from the mixture of patchouli and apple
I have layton and I Love it man!!! the only PDM fragrances I have are layton and carlisle, Please review carlisle!! you need to get your hands on that one and do a review on it I have it and I love man Such an amazing Fragrance for Fall/Winter and I think that one is a masterpiece!!
It's probably a good scent but i have not tried this one...... but damn 250.00 after a 30% discount! A little pricey......actually a lot pricey! The fragrances are good quality though!
Layton didnt appeal to me much also. I wondered why people are telling this is a unique fragrance but to me i smell this before already from other fragrances out there.
Funny you say that...I used to be really into fragrances about 10 years ago but once Aventus came out I stopped my journey. I just got Layton today and it absolutely reminds me of something I’ve smelled before but I can’t place it.
Anyone want to mention the menthol smell? Aka Vick’s vapor rub? Idk why reviewers don’t talk about this but it’s all over forums. I personally don’t mind it but it can be a huge turn off.
@Davide Lecky I say I'm a "fool" because some people say it's foolish, or redundant to own both. I actually like Exclusif more, because of the added coffee note...gives it a sort of smoky smell. But both are really good
Great review, I absolutely love Layton! Don't know the climate you live in but for me it's definitely a spring scent, personally. I think the fruity freshness fits really well when it's mildly warm, sunny and everything starts to blossom. Couldn't wear it in winter cause although the sweetness is strong, that cooling note (which kinda reminds me of Fahrenheit 32) would bother me in the cold weather, it makes Layton much lighter than the heavy vanilla scents I prefer breaking out in winter. Otherwise it's a really versatile scent and something that I haven't smelled before. I don't remember being so much into a fragrance immediately after smelling it for the first time
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm gonna try it and the only fragrances i tried from this house is layton exclusif and Carlisle and have a blessed night
You should do a video where u spray one time with each fragnce you own into a cup and then tell us how it smells at the very end. That would be extremely fun and you could challenge another youtuber to do it too.

Great review bro, as usual!!! Waiting for that Sedley, Percival review!!!!!
So I finally got me a bottle of Layton! & it’s not what I expected... 😐it smells like vapoRub mix with honey & some hits of vanilla lol but for some odd reason i like smelling it so not bad I guess 😅
I get the menthol Vick’s smell too. Wtf? Idk why people big this fragrance up.
personal2not Really!? Well glad to know it’s just not me. I thought my bottle was fake or bad at first lol but definitely not what I expected
Layton Vs Boss Bottled Intense
(Big bottle ) What do you choose?
Dallas, it looks like your batch 003901 is from January 13 of 2020, with the first number representing the year (0=2020, 9=2019...). My batch of 944805 from October of 2019 is really good and lowers the menthol note which, according to some reviews, was a bit heavy in the 2018 batches. Love this scent and look forward to your review of the other two, especially Sedley (which was re-macerated for 2020 for improved longevity).
Yeah i get this vaporub/menthol vibe on the drydown too...and i love IT👍
thank u for this review. i have gotten like four samples of this and i don't get it lol sometimes i LOOOVE this one but other times its just ok like ...meh lol it's so strange! usually i'm love or hate but this one is incredibly made but maybe it's the hype that makes me think i should like it more 🤷♂️ and i agree this is best in fall or like cool weather/hoodie weather for sure
This one reminds me of Hugo Boss Bottled and Azzaro Wanted By Night. I bought a bottle and it came with a sample on the side. I tried the sample before opening it and I didn't like it. Now I'm stuck with a brand new sealed 125ml bottle of it.
I will buy. I can give you my contact so we can discuss prices etc
@@atsusanoumegah646 I sold it a while ago
@@jonathanserrano1471 ok cool. What platform do you sell your perfumes on please? Facebook market? Offerup or???

I only have Herod! Awesome stuff I am unable to sniff Layton. I was going to pick this up this year but ended up going with Chanel Allure Sport. Safe bet since I always read mixed reviews for Layton.
One of my favs... but you love it (~80 %) or "hate" it (~20 %), nothing between.
so strange that a lot of ppl say the dry down is sickly sweet.

Dont sweat these guys chaos, you're doing your thing!
Appreciate it my dude!
Did you already do a review on Sedley yet? I am curious of your input. Thanks for your great reviews!!! 👍🏽
Coming up soon!
PDM Herod is incredible in every sense
Brian apart from longevity where it has none
Finally it's there great review Dallas thanks, I'm getting mine next weekend and can't wait to wear it. This will be one of my new signature scents for sure it was love at first sniff for me and I think it's good for spring/summer as well.
was it worth it?
THE MAN it's worth it 110%, buying my second bottle today
@@tfromthasix1956 And just like that, I'm buying one. Thanks
THE MAN No problem! Please report back if you remember haha. You'll love it
I have the same batch code man!!! I have tried decants from others batches as well and let me tell you they smell the same. This fragance is weird because some days i gives better performance than others. Also sometimes it smells more minty. It is a masterpiece but it varies in how it behaves.
What’s your batch code??
I have the same batch code as you and I agree, I get 3-4 hours sold then it starts fading after that to a skin scent by hour 8.
Mine does not project either. Would I buy it again? Naaaah 🤣 I can buy 3 great fragrances for that same price.
Hey Chaos question for your $35,000 fragrances, did you pay retail or did you find deals on them
all bought on discounters like FragranceNet & FragranceX
@@ChaosFragrances I've been really skeptical about purchasing fragrances from these online stores. My concern is fakes. With you purchasing that many fragrances, have you honestly received zero fakes?
My concern is more that they are B grade batches or old stock and will end up not performing as well- any thoughts?
I'm still on the fence with layton, first time i sprayed it on, i got a real liquorice like opening, hope it just has to grow on me.
For me it reminds me of oud wood. It is not particularly similar scent, but the sweetness and the woodiness is kinda in the same direction and has a similar feel to it. I’d say it is more mass appealing because of the sandal woodiness instead of the oud from oud wood.
Carlisle is amazing from Parfums de Marley
I paid $130 for 4.2 oz of layton off Ebay. There are deals out there, just have to fish for them btw about the minty note , I heard that I was from the mixture of patchouli and apple
I have layton and I Love it man!!! the only PDM fragrances I have are layton and carlisle, Please review carlisle!! you need to get your hands on that one and do a review on it I have it and I love man Such an amazing Fragrance for Fall/Winter and I think that one is a masterpiece!!
Which is more likely for a blind buy?
Got a small decant of this in the mail and upon spraying it, it reminds me a lot of HM by Hanae Mori.
It's probably a good scent but i have not tried this one...... but damn 250.00 after a 30% discount!
A little pricey......actually a lot pricey!
The fragrances are good quality though!
Buying Pegasus blind mid Autumn. It'll be my 1st PdM.
Great reveiw
Layton didnt appeal to me much also. I wondered why people are telling this is a unique fragrance but to me i smell this before already from other fragrances out there.
Funny you say that...I used to be really into fragrances about 10 years ago but once Aventus came out I stopped my journey. I just got Layton today and it absolutely reminds me of something I’ve smelled before but I can’t place it.
I want buy layton, but I’m confused about longevity and projection of new batch((
The nose behind it is a Persian. That is why it smells kind of oriental. It is AMAZING
Funny I just ordered this this morning. Can’t wait for it.
It smells like armani code profumo mixed with eros to me. Nothing to go crazy over in my opinion
But those are two bangers
Same... i dont get compliments with this one
Anyone want to mention the menthol smell? Aka Vick’s vapor rub? Idk why reviewers don’t talk about this but it’s all over forums. I personally don’t mind it but it can be a huge turn off.
And I have the exact same batch code lol
Thank you so much, great review
I'm one of those fools that has both Layton and Layton Exclusif. I think it's actually worth it to have both though. Good review :)
I don't remember being so much into a fragrance immediately after smelling it for the first time
Mark B you haven’t smelled vaporub?
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm gonna try it and the only fragrances i tried from this house is layton exclusif and Carlisle and have a blessed night
My daughter says it smells like Vicks in the opening....which now I cannot unsmell! I do love the scent overall though!
There are two intriguing fougères that you can get a good review from . Milano Cento for him and Carthusia Numero Uno 😉.
Anybody ever compare this to Loyal Agar or Royal Equestrian? Opinions?
Is it an edp or edt?
ucfjo edp
I get a 90% Spicebomb Extreme on the dry down to be honest
You should do a video where u spray one time with each fragnce you own into a cup and then tell us how it smells at the very end. That would be extremely fun and you could challenge another youtuber to do it too.
I use to be a completionist as well but I e soon realized that I only want the 2-3 bangers from a house.
