OOOOOO i love the gun effects and camera angles! Also great narration/explaining what is happening, very helpful for learning rules. Also beautiful painted models
Heck. Yes. I love that y'all showcased all of the great aspects of the game, the lethality, the importance of overwatch, the quickness of it. Im absolutely enjoying this game right now and seeing my favorite miniatures channel get into it is even better! Great video guys. Keep it up! My Harlow favorites will win the next one (don't forget... I believe their control team gets to activate another team as part of the unit's special rule!)... Double check that though since I don't have my card in front of me!
This absolutely sold me on the game. This is exactly the tactical-shooter-style game I was hoping it was. Next paycheck it is. And wonderful batrep! Love the straightforward (but well-made) style and I think it compliments the fast-paced game well.
Great battle report. I've played a couple of games and I like the speed. We can get 2-3 games in like 1.5hrs, which is great for the middle of the week.
Gonna drop little bits I've learned as I come across them o7 You're correct about leanout costing half of your movement, but the Springboks have 6" movement so your instance was fine. I'm assuming you rolled Blast weapons as doing whatever damage they had listed. That's only for direct impacts on vehicles: those hit by the blast range only take one damage per success of the attacker. Took me a while to figure that one out T_T Just noticed you're using the older Medium rules: with recent updates it allows you to reroll one failed dice per attack. When you ignore cover, you roll a flat skill check, which is 2d10. Think of Cover and open shots as a bonus and penalty: cover subtracts a dice, open shots add a dice. On that note, CQB works differently now as well: in recent updates, it allows you to reroll ALL shots in CQB range. Very nice game :D your production style is awesome and I can't wait to see more. Y'all did a lot better with the rules than I did my first game lol
While this game does not interest me, I'm always impressed by your great videos, watched the whole thing, and left a like. Thanks for all that you do to bring attention to skirmish hobbies!
Great play through video, i love how quick you go through actions and movements. And the consistent camera shot always keeping up pace and clearly showing what's happening and whose affected. Really a great work!
.Blackout is starting to strike me as an option for Infinity Lite. I do like the cover discipline and the one shot/hit one kill style to combat. Bit lethal to suit my fondness for narrative development teams but then future triage and treatment of GSWs could easily mean that downed is a recoverable condition Hey! altered Carbon style datastacks, recover the imprint so they can be downloaded into a new combat sleeve for the next battle, got it
I would like to see a more narrative focused style game, but with the mechanics it would be difficult to keep your operatives alive for long. I’m ok with that though. I enjoy the break this game gives me from other labor intensive games outside of the game.
omg you made me realize that over the half dozen games or so we've played, we'd been awarding overrun points for killing a single model, not an entire unit. No wonder we've had so many turn 1 victories hahaha. I really don't like the choice of the word "unit" - I understand what it means in a military sense, but my gamer brain immediately registers a "unit" as a single model. Wish they would have called them squads or something instead. Really outstanding game though, it's my #1 favorite right now.
Blimey that was a lightning fast game! It seems like a very simple game but with a hardcore appeal. How would people describe this, is it a casual game or not really?
I would consider it casual. The rules are easy to understand There isn’t any homework required: - no list building - everything you need to know is on the cards that come with the faction or in a quick reference flip book There are currently three factions to choose from, that provide a decent variety; - a 9 model fast team - a 9 model durable team, - a 6 model team with better skill checks
Easy to pick up, difficult to master. Very fast play, but the Devil is in the Details. Harlow forces are -much- more mobile than Manticor, so it pays to move them aggressively early to seize key positions and force Borz to try to move when they would rather secure fire lanes and slowly lock down the table with their superior armor and guns.
Hey, just ordered the a couple force sets to get started - any recommendations on where to pick up some affordable, thematic terrain? My gothic killteam buildings don't really seam like they'll fit the bill here
@@beanzeani2440 haha, heard that! Or the space if I remember. I 3D print a lot. I’ll update my website if I find some. 40K is too gothic, infinity is too sci-fi in my opinion. Need to find something in the middle
@@MiniatureGameMontage I highly recommend doing the "Code One" version at low points - 5 dudes per side. The base rules are actually pretty simple, it's all the equipt. and abilities that make it complex. It's a must-play, especially if you like Blkout, because the rules are the best in the industry for what it does. Blkout is different because it's meant to play faster and be less granular.

Blimey that was a lightning fast game! It seems like a very simple game but with a hardcore appeal. How would people describe this, is it a casual game or not really?
I don't play things competitively. I'm sure someone will chime in on the competitive nature of the game. It's a punishing game for sure.
I would consider it casual.

@MiniatureGameMontage Awesome, will definitely keep an eye out. I'll be looking, in the meantime
The models and look are gorgeous, but it seems like it would depend on you having a crap load of terrain to stay interesting.
You do need terrain but playing on a 2x2 is much easier to fill than other games. We went multi-level in this one which isn’t necessary.
I think medium weapons reroll a missed shot. Heavy is plus one die when the model hasn't moved.
Hey what terrain are you using? It looks amazing!
