Hehe sounds so epic! He speaks even faster in Parappa's version when he says: "AutopilotOnAutopilotOff" Fun fact: that's the VA for Chop chop Master Onion. The guy's a legend!
This game feels goofy but dark/creepy at times. Pilot is not ok, the part where he says “I’m wondering when I get to rest. I’m hungry, I’m sleepy, don’t want to die.” always hits pretty hard, he was likely shipped out and taught not to be an individual and work as hard as possible for the country, then when he was out he’d starve or be restless, he might’ve even had a knee injury + saw others die and was terrified of dying at the time but he made it. The next creepy thing is the caterpillar and the cultish group of women singing about having babies? Likely signifies lammy’s fear of having kids in some way, like it’s forced upon her and she can’t say anything about it or she’ll be kicked out and yelled at or ignored.
Apparently the "loopy version" of him is the natural one while the "Drill seargent" is his alternate personality. He appears in Parappa the Rapper 2 as a town hall clerk and is responsible for loading and saving your game and options. Interestingly he never goes into drill mode except during the song and in the cutscene prior. Even failing the song has him in his loopy mode as he just mumbles "Well now lets try this again..." which an annoyed expression. Very interesting character for sure, but one of few who appears in multiple games.
@@MacenWBig is SO legit! That one sounds like a real song cause of the lyric game. Power on Power Off is also a favorite of mine, and Parappa's version of "Got to move"
Hey, you're not that bad. I absolutely love this game, and I don't care what anyone says, it was more fun than the original Parappa the Rapper. Glad there's still some who play it!
It's too bad they haven't rereleased this game now that we have the guitar controllers. Can you imagine the awesome insanity if you could play like that? ^-^
@@C00K13-Z_9Hehe true, but would still be nice to play these games again on modern consoles. they re-released the original Parappa the rapper several times but most Parappa fans don't even know this is the second in the series. Shame too cause the music is absolutely ace and they include Parappa modes too for every song except the first.
I used to make up my own lyrics during Lammy's guitar solos: Cpt. Fussenpepper: Now do you like munchies? Me: Yes I really like munchies! Cpt. Fussenpepper: I wonder where lunch is? Me: It's over in the kitchen!
Parappa's version kind of does that, though most of the lyrics are different (and the song itself) it gives the idea. Plus if you do the Parappa + Lammy versions it'll alternate between the versions, but it sounds really trippy due to how different the styles are for some of them. Very charming though! Love this game and how fun it is!
There are 3 more levels continuing this one, the one where you saw a guitar from a tree (can't remember the name now), the Vital Idol Stage and the last one. Appart from all this stages, the levels are re-made for Parappa
did i eat my drink? i thought milk was pink. now do you like munchies? i wonder where lunch is. my knee is in pain, so is my brain. i thought i just made some coffee for me. i want some apple and berries to eat.im gettin sleepy... i want my sheets. now do you like munchies? i wonder where lunch is. in the old days i was the hero, but look at me im learning just how to fly. im still wondering when we get to rest, im hungry im sleepy, dont want to die. anyone know any real songs with similar guit
OHHH this and the tree cutting level were my favourite levels, man. The 3rd level with the stupid ass babies was the hardest level to get and stay COOL with. LOVE THIS GAME!
Yeah since the buttons are pressed on every note, you have to deliberately miss some presses to get cool. Someone on reddit finally found out how the scoring system works and it's kind of mind blowing. There is a pattern, but it just happens the lyrics always sync up to the patterns and despite the audible "Oops" for messing up, pressing a wrong note doesn't penalize you. Only pressing too many notes, not pressing all the visible notes, and not pressing all the "beat combinations" (OO _O and O_ for every pair of 8th notes) in the section penalizes you.
Dude this was just a perfect "good" version of the song , which is just fine. Plus seeing that the sound and button pressing is off its probably one of those emulated horribly translated codec versions. But if you score a COOL throughout the whole song , the plane goes into space and lammy and the pilot guy floats around in space in space suits. Its really easy to get "COOL" on any song. Don't miss any notes PLUS press w/e buttons you can inbetween time gaps.
I always loved how wild the "Cool modes" get. Those were rewards in and of themselves and mad shoutouts to poisix for really making cool mode sound cool (as most of us just copy the lines and randomly press buttons). XD
I Have this game and I abosulutely love it even to this day!! I still even play the hell out of the original PaRappa The Rapper. In both, Um Jammer Lammy and PaRappa 1, the music is some of the best I've heard. I'm glad u blessed youtube with this vid (Although the sound and video were sorta off sync...hehe but its ok).
haha i remember playing this game when i was in the 5th grade (i gathered all my hard earned money 4 it) but now i graduated im lookin at it like "i spent most of my days playin this" i mean it was fun but times have changed, i gave this game to my lil cousin on easter
i remember always winning this stage accidently!it was an aweosme game and i really wish youtube had more of the stages like the one with the beaver or whatever that guy was...
But from what I hear, it's damn near impossible to synchronize the sound and timing of the button presses. I guess the only way to get the real experience is to buy the real thing. It's a real shame.
Yeah me too. I used to try to get perfect scores on just button mashing and being on cool all the time. It's cool when you do that cuz it sounds like a bad ass solo no matter what you do

You mean to tellme that you've been able to find a version that synchronizes the button presses and sound perfectly? I've been looking everywhere for an ISO like that but it seems impossible to find. Where did you get it?
Actually that'd be awesome since my sister owns a Wii XD But knowing what the games are like I don't think i'd mind if it honestly came out on Wii if they rereleased them.
Whenever I hear the song Sail Up for some reason I think of this song, particularly when The Pilot rapidily sing/rap his lines such as "Little of this, little of that" cuz the rapid rapping almost sounds like the repeating "so don't go sail up, sail up, sail up" even though they really don't. Anyway Flight Fright is way better than Sail Up even if there are lamer songs that (Sail Up is so-so, the most annoying part is the repeated "Sail Up").
